The location of the property is excellent. The water view and peaceful setting are the best. And the beach is just around the bend. The hosts were very responsive to our needs. We would love to come back next year!

This place is a relaxing get away from the hustle and bustle. The carriage house is the perfect size for a romantic vacation. We sat on the porch and watched the wildlife, the waves, and the sun. We enjoyed the large open window which gave a view to it all. This was our second visit staying in this house. The host was very kind and friendly when we checked in. The bed is comfy and the place is clean. Ocean view is paradise-worth every penny!

Amazing place!We loved the location, the quiet neighborhood, the host.Only thing is if it’s as hot as it was this past week, an air conditioner would be nice for later in the day.Would stay again for sure..

Wonderful!

We had a great experience here. The view was wonderful, the apartment was clean and well stocked in the kitchen. A very nice location a short distance to public beach, restaurants, and points of interest. The owner made checking in extremely easy and answered questions promptly. Would highly recommend.

Yes, Jim was exceedingly welcoming. It was my wife's birthday and he made the effort to place a beautiful bouquet of flowers on the dining room table with a happy birthday banner hanging nearby. An unexpected delight!Our rental was comfortable, clean and afforded us with beautiful ocean views.
Sunrise from our rental!

Beautiful view. Cottage was well equipped for our stay. Clean and felt welcome from owners. Lack of air conditioning had to be the most difficult on 2-3 days of hot weather.

This place is paradise! Very clean and well-stocked with all the necessities. Host was charming and welcoming. Located in a quiet neighborhood, the carriage house is the absolute perfect get away! The views are magnificent! We could see two lighthouses from the porch. We watched sunrises, waves, wildlife, and sunsets. We also enjoyed the grove of trees where we enjoyed the breeze. The town has great little shops and restaurants. This was perfect!

What is excellent about this place is the 180-degree view and its proximity to beaches. And the price point for this view is excellent; these places with this kind of location tend to be in the 500-900 a night range. The reasons for the lower price are 1) the place is in dire need of updating — especially the porch and the bathroom. It is a little interesting to be sitting among such opulence (eg surrounded by mansions) when the place needs so much work. The patio chairs and little table are cheap plastic and dirty. 2) it needs air conditioning, especially because in the morning the sun blasts into the front room and it is almost impossible to be in it on a hot day in August. Even a mini split or portable would help tremendously. However, it is clean, the water pressure is divine, the beds are comfortable, and the hosts responsive. There is no over-promising in the ad. And again, that view… this is what you are paying what is a reasonable price. (But if the price shifts above 330/night without a note about substantive makeovers, I would rate this quite differently).

return to my roots

after moving to the west coast 17 years ago it was wonderful for my family to experience all things New England that I grew up with. And we couldn’t have had a better experience and the location is spectacular! The view of the ocean, waking up to the sound of birds chirping, the ocean waves and just the overall joy our children experienced has us longing to come back…we certainly will be returning… thank you James and Jan!

The View!

Our stay was spectacular and everything we could hope for! The property was accurate to the listing and the views were amazing. Even though it was foggy most of our stay, you were able to get glimpses of the Nubble Lighthouse. The beach is a 5 minute drive and you can explore York with everything within 20 minutes of the house. Although you were attached to the main house, we had plenty of privacy! We will definityly stay again!

Exceptional property

A wonderful place to stay in the York/Cape Neddick area! The view and the sound of the surf from the unit were a welcome relaxation. Everything that we could have needed was in the unit, even olive oil and cooking spray for cooking! This apt. is in a perfect, quiet location to enjoy the southern coast of Maine. Thanks Jan and Jim, we will return!
