Large cabin/house which was very clean. Bathrooms and kitchen were spotless. Pet friendly, with a fenced-in back yard. Lots of steps (as advertised) and beautiful views from the front porch. In a quiet area. The driveway is steep (again, as advertised). The house is well-stocked with everything that a family would need. Several board games and puzzles are onsite as diversions. Any problems or issues were quickly addressed by Destination Big Bear. "Ally" and "Renae" were so helpful!

This Upper Moonridge property is a great place to stay. The kitchen is well stocked, the beds are comfy, and the fun amenities are a great added touch. The nearby trail was a fun surprise.

Beautiful home!

Beautiful home! We loved our stay! Stocked with plenty of board games for the kids and everything we needed for a few days in the mountains! Nice walking trails nearby! The driveway is steep and quite a few stairs to get in the front door but lovely home, nicely decorated! I loved the twinkle lights in the trees, nice touch!!

Nice family cabin

Overall this cabin was nice for our family getaway. Plenty of beds and baths. Kitchen and common areas nice and open for family time. Not too far from town or the lake. Only negatives were that the coffee maker didn’t work, pans were quite old, TV in master didn’t work, and definitely an ant problem. But other than those minor issues, a nice place.

Cozy getaway

Stayed over the holidays for a winter getaway. The property management company was very responsive to all communications. Check in was easy. The cabin was clean and comfortable. The only recommendation we have is true for all rentals - the knives in the kitchen are rubbish.:) If you are into cooking bring a sharp knife. Otherwise everything is well stocked and we had a great time.

Great mid-sized cabin in Upper Moonridge

This cabin suited our purposes perfectly. Most important for us was the fully enclosed high fenced back yard for our Shepard mix. Comfortable bed (we only used the Master Bedroom), well appointed kitchen, TVs in every room and Blazing fast wifi. Checking in through the management company was pretty simple even though you had to stop by their offices to show ID. The only issue for some people may be the extremely steep driveway during winter months (though the provide lots of salt for de-icing). Overall: Would definily rent again.

Hello Brendan, We are so glad to hear that Bodet Chalet was the perfect location for you. Also, that your furry friend was able to enjoy the backyard, and that you were able to relax due to the secured fence. We are glad to hear that check-in was an easy step for you, and after you were able to enjoy the TV's in every room, and the wifi. We are glad that the steep driveway was not a big issue for your party, and we are excited to host you again! Kind Regards, Destination Big Bear

Very nice and quiet place but….

We had a lovely stay. The house itself is very comfortable. The only things that were a tad odd to me was that we had to take our trash with us and drop it off at the city dump, there were notes in the bathroom saying not to flush toilet paper, and all of the mattresses were very very firm, to the point of being uncomfortable. For as nice as a property as this house is, these issues seemed to make it a bit more “rustic” than the stay we were looking for. We paid a cleaning fee that really should include the disposal of trash.

Hello Jennifer, Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We are glad to hear that you had a comfortable stay at Bodet Chalet. Unfortunately, the city of Big Bear Lake does not pick up trash from vacation rentals, due to the trash possibly sitting out for days, being accessible to some of the critters we have up here. We do notify this upon check-in when accepting the terms and agreements, arrival instructions, and the home rules. Bed preference is a very hard thing to please everyone as it is a preferable preference. Kind Regards, Destination Big Bear

Great cabin for a family

Loved the cabin. It was perfect for a family. Only two issues: I was supposed to check In at 4 pm, but arrived late at 5:20. At 5:14 I received a text from Destinations Big Bear my with the lock box code and check in instructions. Upon arrival. I was a little startled to find a gentleman inside the cabin. He was finishing up housekeeping and remained for about another 20-25 minutes. Despite this one of the pillowcases on my bed had some sort of bodily fluids on it. I put it to the side and did not use and was sure to inspect the others. Other than this, the cabin was comfy and very pretty. The yard was perfect for my dog and other amenities made our stay enjoyable.

Family Weekend

Nice property, be prepared to hike the flight and a half up to the house before you see the view. But sunsets were beautiful! Suggest to bring paper or plastic plates for kids. Hot tub was clean.

Nice getaway.

The house is as advertised. We had a great time for our short getaway. The fenced yard was perfect for our dogs. We enjoyed the shuffleboard table and board games. The driveway is steep and narrow so don’t take that warning lightly. In bad weather it could be tricky. There are quite a few steps from the top of the driveway to the front door that will get your attention when combined with thinner air. All in all, I wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again!

Great for our family!

Upper Moonridge was a great location for our family of small children. The open area of the kitchen and living room allowed us to keep an eye on everyone, and the bedrooms gave privacy when we wanted it. We loved the fireplace and backyard! It was close to town, and overall, a wonderful place to escape to. Thank you!
