The caretaker would have been glad to assist had he known you were having problems, and I am always reachable via email. My wife and I were just there as part of our pre-rental season inspection, and the satellite system/TV were functioning perfectly as we watched the Carolina Panthers demolish the Arizona Cardinals. Guests are provided with starter supplies of paper towels, toilet paper, and soap. There are 4 grocery stores on the island, one right around the corner from the house, from which to purchase additional supplies. (This is much easier than bringing basic supplies across by boat or ferry from Marsh Harbour.) We will update the House Guide, sent to renters just prior to their arrival, to be more clear about what to expect. Again, thank you for your comments!

The rocky shore has completely recovered from the storm. There's a beautiful, sandy beach that's perfect for kids to play on! Usually, the grocery stores are fairly well stocked. We are dependent on freighters from the U.S. to bring in everything except fresh produce. They try to air freight it. It's one of the things that happen when living on a small island 180 miles from the U.S.

We take feedback very seriously, and have made many improvements as a result of suggestions or ideas from renters, but this review deserves a blunt response. Carts were available when this reservation was made in late February. Obtaining a cart on short notice is not always possible, especially in June. Our rental agency on the island manages approximately a hundred rental houses and none come with a cart. Keeping a rental house in good condition on an island takes a lot of time and effort, and is why there are boat and cart rental companies to meet those specific needs. Elbow Cay is a narrow five mile long island and having everything within easy walking distance is simply not possible. Calypso and its central location offers an exceptional level of accessibility. It is wrong to single out Calypso as being deficient in location or amenities and incredibly audacious to forcibly enter the house's locked storage area, steal the owner's old and finicky personal golf cart, cause significant damage, and then publicly complain in an undeserved poor review.
