Have you ever felt like you're part of the problem and not part of the solution? Kind of the vibe I got. Checking in. They kept telling me to find my parking pass, which I never did find anything labeled parking pass. And it got real cheesy with the parking guards at the front. Although I could prove from an email that I paid for the parking lot, he did not care one iota. And he wasn't going to let me in without it. In fact, they were going to get me towed.

Hi Paul, we were genuinely surprised to read this review, especially since the handwritten note you left at checkout said, “Loved this place!” The review also does not reflect the pleasant communication we had with you during your seven-night stay. A completed parking permit was placed on the kitchen counter before your arrival, exactly where our pre-arrival and check-in instructions stated it would be. Shoalwater’s official permit is titled “Guest Registration Certificate,” and it must be displayed in the vehicle. When we received the after-hours call that security had placed warnings on your vehicle, we spoke with you and asked you to check the counter again. The permit was then located, and we explained that it simply needed to be displayed in your vehicle. You contacted us the following day to purchase an additional permit for the second vehicle. The security officers are employed by the condominium association, not Gulf Sands Rentals, and they were enforcing the building’s parking rules. While we understand that this was frustrating, we would also be concerned if security allowed unidentified vehicles to remain on the property without a displayed permit. These policies are common at condominium complexes throughout the area and are communicated to all guests in advance. We’re sorry this parking issue became the focus of your review despite your positive checkout note and otherwise enjoyable stay.

Really nice place enjoyed the stay. Would definitely book again. The only knock on the stay would be the AC not being able to go below 70, other than that no issues. Great place to book.

I have been falsely accused of damaging a stovetop that was used one time by our party! Charged an unexpected 535 and the only reason they reached out to tell me about this is because I no longer had the card that was on file….or else they would have charged this with no notification or discussion prior. They called me 31 hours AFTER we checked out! Why not immediately after this was supposedly found?! No pictures have been provided even though I have requested them. Sad because I have had amazing experiences in the past at the same condominium. Gulf sands rentals is very wrong for this! DO NOT RECOMMEND

We’re sorry to see this review, especially as we are glad you otherwise enjoyed your stay at this premium condo. Photos and notice of the stovetop damage were provided through the message thread. The damage was reported by our housekeeping team during the post-checkout cleaning, which is our standard process. We document each departure cleaning with photos, and this damage was not present prior to the stay. In addition, damage to a lamp was also found during the stay/post-departure review process and had not been reported to us. We always ask guests to notify us of any accidental damage or concerns during their stay so we can address them properly. The glass stovetop was found cracked and chipped after departure and did require replacement. The amount charged reflected the replacement part and installation cost only. Damage to the property is the responsibility of the guest, and we always encourage guests to purchase optional damage protection for situations like this. We work hard to maintain this condo and provide a 5-star experience for every guest. We’re sorry this situation impacted your impression of our company, but we do stand by our process and documentation. We wish you the best in your future travels.

Family Vacation

My husband, two adult sons and my mother-in-law throughly enjoyed our stay at Shoalwater 1106. We LOVED the balcony! We found the condo to be very clean and well equiped. We especially liked that each bedroom had it's own bathroom. We will definitely rent this condo again!

Family beach getaway

We really loved the condo. The large balcony and views were awesome. We had plenty of room for all 8 of us. Anything you would need in the kitchen and really nice to have a laundry room.

Unit is very clean and spacious. We loved the outdoor space and location. It could use some new outdoor lounges & chairs (one was broken and they are uncomfortable) which is a bummer bc the patio is awesome, but other than that, good overall stay.

Weekend reunion

Property was beautiful inside and out, and a perfect place for our reunion Only complaint was the cleaners did put full rolls of TP or paper towels in unit. Not good when you have a group of women Would definitely book again

Beautiful panoramic view

Roomy, newly renovated and beautifully decorated, this condo had plenty of room for our group of 7. The kitchen had everything we needed. Three nice bathrooms (Space out timing of showers so you have enough hot water.) The view was fantastic and the large balcony had plenty of seating and a nice table. The indoor pool was small; it would be great if the larger pool outdoors was heated. The condo was clean and comfy and close to grocery stores. We had a great family vacation.

Beautiful Condo

This unit is SO nice ! It has been tastefully updated throughout. The corner balcony is huge with plenty of comfortable seating. You can see morning sunrises and evening sunsets. Beds were comfortable and kitchen was nicely stocked. Our only suggestion would be to upgrade the bath towels - these were of poor quality and didn't fit in with all of the other nice upgrades in the rest of the unit. We will definitely try to book this unit again !
