We had an easy, fun week at this property on Harbor Island! The location was perfect for either the beach or the pool, which was very clean and never crowded, even on a holiday week! Our kids should have started an ice cream tab at the Turtle’s Nest! Definitely check that out for pool snacks. The house is just steps away from the beach, which is beautiful, and at low tide, I think you could almost walk to Edisto! We mostly cooked at the house. Our Hello Fresh followed us no problem! The kitchen has everything you need but a can opener. I was surprised the water tasted so good! No need for bottled water; just refill your Yeti cup! There are a lot of miscellaneous spices in the cabinet but bring black pepper, as that was running low. All the appliances and utilities were in perfect order. The AC works great! There are tons of novels and puzzles and games there. Plenty of bath and beach towels. Lots of chairs of different sizes under the house. The beds are comfy and we slept well but if you plan to sleep in, bring a sleep mask because the curtains on the French doors are thin. The back porch has a dog gate that was just fine for our little cocker spaniel but if you have a big dog, they will easily knock it down or step over it. The back porch is best enjoyed in the early morning. Then, we would move to the front porch and people watch on Harbor Drive. Be sure to bring bug spray for the evenings. Overall, this house was the perfect home base for our family and we will definitely return to beautiful and very private Harbor Island! We recommend the Coastal Expeditions’ dolphin tour, the Sea Island Carriage Co. in Beaufort, and the Highway 21 Drive-In!
