Hvis du er på udkig efter en naturfyldt naturskøn måde, kom og ophold hos os i vores charmerende gæstehus bjælkehytte, der ligger på 25 hektar på kanten af ​​Lolo National Forest. They're not kidding about the lack of cell service - which played very much to my advantage when I got to tell the boss in all honesty that I could not be contacted. Meanwhile, the Starlink internet holds up nicely for productivity and gaming, so digital relaxation remains a possibility. Lots of space heaters for cold days, but still perfectly cool on the warm ones. Owners are fantastic and a wealth of knowledge about the area. Amazing and eclectic library - you could spend months here just reading, as I wish I could have. Would be happy to return someday.

Wonderful cabin in the woods

We loved staying here. It was quiet and peaceful, away from everything. It was perfect for our family for 2 nights on our way up to Glacier. Thank you so much!

Excellent Experience

We loved everything about this experience & stay! The cabin is cozy, spacious & clean. The property is peaceful & breathtakingly beautiful. The hosts are so kind & hospitable. Highly recommend & we definitely plan on staying again in the future. Thank you for such a wonderful experience.

Quaint and cozy

Lovely cabin away from the main drag. Clean and comfortable on a family farm. Must be ok with a composting toilet. Owners near by for any questions.

Peace and Quite

We spent four days of absolute peace and quiet at the sanctuary farm. Could not have been more relaxed when we left. Matt and Liz were the perfect hosts and their son, Alexander, was most entertaining.

Peaceful Retreat

We were looking for a comfortable peaceful stay in the mountains and that's exactly what we got. The property is wonderful with all the comforts of home and the property owners Liz and Matt are friendly and helpful. There are so many extra touches that made us feel right at home. We hope to stay again in the future and we won't hesitate to recommend Sanctuary Farm to anyone looking for a rest and recharge; you won't want to leave! Make sure and try Liz's breakfast sandwiches! Yum!

Liz greeted my daughter and I when we arrived. I was shown around the cabin, while my daughter stayed in the car. I expressed to Liz that the cabin was not what I expected. The bathroom had an outhouse appearance with sawdust and ash to be used to cover your waste. There were animals roaming the premises. Neither my daughter nor I like cats. That was the first thing we saw when we pulled up. The cabin was cold even with the use of a space heater. The back door had enough of a gap that light was showing through. I stayed at the cabin alone for just a couple of nights. I had to finally go spend the remaining nights with my son. The biggest problem that I had with this cabin was how far it was from my son. When I booked the cabin, I checked the mileage from his place in Missoula. It showed that it was about 27 miles away. What it didn’t tell me was that I had to drive a narrow treacherous, gravel and dust covered backroad to get that 27 miles. And the road directly to the cabin was extremely rough. I had to change my route to the interstate, which increased my drive to 43 miles one way. If you spend the night at this rustic cabin, make sure you read the details about it being a farmstead. You need to enjoy animals roaming and chickens free-ranging. Also, there’s no cell service, but there is a land line. I let Liz and Matt know that I was leaving early. Matt was kind enough to give me some sour dough bread and homemade currant as I was leaving.

Wedding Pitstop

We stayed at the Sanctuary for several nights before heading to Glacier National Park for a wedding. The property definitely has a lot of potential. It was comfortable for spending the night. We were not fans of the rustic compost toilet but this was disclosed in the description. The rental is also very close to the main house (little privacy) but we were out for most of the time. The host was very kind and responsive to our questions and needs.

Gorgeous in heart of BItterroots

This is a beautiful, peaceful, quiet place to stay out in the middle of the woods. It is green and wet. The place is rustic but comfortable with a nice workspace and the Starlink Internet worked pretty well, though it wouldn't make a wi-fi call. You are on a working property with industrious owners who have livestock, garden, pond, workshed and industry happening around you, but it is charming. FYI, if it matters, there is not stove but there is a toaster oven that works. The toilet is a pit sawdust toilet which was interesting. The host Matt is very kind and works to make your stay memorable. FYI, the Lolo Hot Springs was nicely done (commercial) and we had them to ourselves. Thank you to the hosts.

WOW, this was our favorite rental stay ever! If you're looking for an authentic Montana getaway, you can't beat this location. Follow the host instructions and you'll have no trouble finding their place, and it's a gorgeous drive in. It's a lovely property, with a musical creek. The rough-hewn cabin is very cozy--just what we were looking for. The composting toilet sounds intimidating but really isn't--the sawdust and ash prevent any smell, along with the fan, and it was very clean and comfortable to use. We appreciated having a warm shower after a couple days of camping, and the washer and dryer were a nice bonus.The kitchen has a full-sized fridge and freezer, and although there is no stove, there is a large toaster oven and microwave as well as a coffee maker and anything else you might need. There is also a firepit just behind the cabin, great for roasting hot dogs and s'mores. The hosts are perfect. They are nearby, friendly, and quick to respond, but not invasive in the least. They noticed (from the chimney smoke) that we were having a little trouble getting the woodstove to work properly, so they politely knocked and offered to help, but other than that they left us to our own devices--though we wish we'd had time to accept a tour of their homestead and greenhouse. They also offer a top-notch breakfast for a very reasonable fee. And their clean-up instructions were very few, and reasonable.A very relaxing, comfortable stay, at an unbeatable price!

Truly a sanctuary!

Matt and Liz are wonderful hosts! The cabin is clean, well appointed with everything one would need and more. It is a comfortable, peaceful log retreat nestled in the Bitterroot forest that offers all the sights and smells of this beautiful area. We love it there!

The cabin was a fantastic experience in itself; a comfortable getaway with great amenities. It is located on a farm, and it was also good to see the property; the hosts let us meet their dog, goats and chickens.

Great Relaxing Weekend

We spent two days reading in front of the fire and thoroughly enjoyed our relaxing weekend away. Breakfast was amazing! The hosts are sweet and very down to earth, and I loved getting a tour of their huge new greenhouse. Several things to note, if you spend time here in the winter be sure to bring slippers, the floors are concrete and cold. Also, I probably totally missed the kitchen details but was not sure how I was going to cook the steaks I brought as there are only hotplates and a toaster oven available to cook on inside the cabin, I would not count that as a complaint, just took a little extra time to cook. Otherwise, it was a perfect spot for a quick relaxing weekend away.

Lovely setting away from the hustle and bustle of city life!

We loved our stay here! Was so refreshing to walk around and see their farm life. Loved the cabin too! And the breakfast sandwiches were so delicious! Wish we could have stayed longer!
