Lattice House er den ultimative tropiske villa. Beliggende i en 60 hektar privat reserve, 3 minutter over den smukke Playa Hermosa, omgivet af jungle, vil du nyde en spektakulær havudsigt fra hvert værelse, dæk og infinity-pool.

Nyd den unikke moderne Bali-arkitektur og specialdesignede finish og møbler, alt importeret fra Bali. Lattice House blev bygget og er kærligt vedligeholdt som mit hjem, og du vil føle dig som om det er dit eget private paradis til dit ophold.

Du har en manager / concierge på stedet og en kokke på stedet, der tager sig af din jordtransport, aktiviteter, måltider og restaurantreservationer, så du kan bruge al din tid på bare at slappe af og nyde dit ophold.

Lattice House er bekvemt beliggende halvvejs mellem Dominical og Uvita lige ved kystvejen. Du behøver ikke bruge din værdifulde ferietid på at køre op og ned ad bjergveje for at nyde en utrolig udsigt og privatliv. Reservatet omfatter store parklignende rum, frugtplantager og jungle med stier, der fører til adskillige vandløb og vandfald. I enhver retning ser du kun hvidtvands kystlinje, bjerge eller regnskov. På en given dag kan du måske se og høre hylende og hvide ansigt-aber, coaties, tayra, agouties, dovendyr, tukaner, arakarier, kolibrier, papegøjer og snesevis af andre fuglearter, alt fra husdæk.
Lattice House er et spektakulært sted, og jeg er glad for at dele det med vores gæster.

Master king soveværelse, et dronning soveværelse og to fulde bade er på det overordnede niveau; to soveværelser (en dronning, to tvillinger eller en konge) og et komplet bad er på det lavere niveau. Der er to sofaer i stuen, der kan bruges som ekstra senge.

Fantastic Property

Located near many great restaurants and a short drive to a nice beach. Wildlife around the house including onsite hiking trails. Air conditioning in the bedrooms. Availability for onsite private Chef and an extremely helpful concierge. Perfect and highly recommend.

Pictures can’t do it justice

The property is amazing and gives big White Lotus vibes! All the listing photos do not do it justice. The indoor/outdoor design of the house made being out enjoying the pool and view the highlight of our days. The staff/helpers made many great suggestions without being pushy. We used the Chef service for three dinners because Chef Koko was great to work with and made really lovely dishes for us. Ana, again was great to work with and knows her stuff. She was very helpful with logistics like transportation, provisions and tours. I need her for my own home

A Once in a Lifetime Trip

As soon as we turned off the road and passed through the property gate I knew this was a special place. Winding through manicured grounds, orchards, and tropical plants, one gets the impression that something exceptional is about to happen. The house, though well appointed and fully functional, is just a backdrop to the fabulous property on a 65-acre private nature preserve. While the more adventuresome young folks hiked to the waterfall nothing was lost on those who just wanted to sit by the pool, enjoy the scenery, and watch the native birds, animals, and reptiles who had free range of the property. We took several wildlife tours but other than sloths and crocodiles didn’t see much that we weren’t able to experience at the house (and without the crowds)!The house manager, Ana, was fabulous and she and her staff were very responsive to minor issues. She recommended activities and made the arrangements, had a rental car delivered, and was constantly in touch. We had Chef Koko prepare several meals and he and they were great (get the passionfruit pie!).The property is located 10-15 minutes from two small towns, Dominical and Uvita. There are great restaurants close by, and the kids enjoyed taking surfing lessons. This is a once in a lifetime kind of experience-DO IT!

Great location, incredible views

The house was in very clean and everything was in working condition, the jacuzzi was in perfect working condition and got hot very quick, which was a huge bonus. The beds were comfortable, sheets were soft. Toucans and monkeys visited us daily… What a great spot. One of our best stays in Costa Rica so far… thank you 🙏

Peaceful, multi-generational stay

Our group of grandparents, siblings, spouses and kids had a wonderful time at Lattice House. It had the perfect multi-generational space to have alone time and together time. The master bedroom was like a treehouse, it felt right in nature. It was perfect for one of the members of the family, who is low vision, to enjoy being in nature and hearing animals from the safety of the house, without worry of tripping on a trail. We did so many activities and Ana helped every step of the way. We would highly recommend the horseback ride to the waterfall--unique and beautiful! The boat ride was also a fun adventure! Anytime we had a question or concern, Ana responded quickly. We enjoyed adding on the private chef services for two nights and it was so worth the money. Next time we would have the chef come a couple of times spread out over the trip so we could enjoy the leftovers throughout the week--Delicious! We are already dreaming of returning to this special place on earth. When you feel like dragging yourself out of beautiful Lattice House, we recommend Dominical for a cool town vibe and kind folks. We hope to return soon--Pura Vida!

Ana was fabulous at meeting our needs and special requests ... and did we mention the spectacular animals within steps of the home? Howler Monkeys, Toucans, Caoti... what an experience!! Heaven on Earth

Gorgeous Balinese house that blends perfectly into its mountaintop jungle setting and boasts spectacular views, ocean surround sound, and amazing wildlife. It was the perfect week-long vacation setting for us and our well-travelled daughter and two grandsons (ages 8 and 9), who pronounced this their favorite vacation ever. Beaches, horse riding, and other activities are nearby, but we found it hard to leave this amazing place between all the nature walks, constant wildlife appearances, infinity pool and hot tub, outside showers, on-site massages, and the amazing kitchen crew. Alexandra, Juan, and Naca were an amazing team that kept us extremely well-fed--breakfast and dinner--all week long. Ana provded all manner of local concierge support--so affable and responsive. Owner Pat--from Texas--also passed on superb advice from afar. Everything about our Lattice House stay couldn't have been more perfect ... many thanks to Pat and her incredible team!

Nothing short of amazing

Lattice House provided the trip of a lifetime. It was an incredible house. The property was meticulously maintained, beautiful yard and pool and the view was out of this world. It was 2 minutes to Playa Hermosa and is by far the best beach. You can rent an umbrella and loungers at the beach and the kids took surf lessons or you can rent a board. Ana helped plan surf lessons, horseback riding on the beach, ATV tours and the private chef. The private chef was great. The meals were delicious and she left the leftovers in the fridge. Everything was seamless and Ana was prompt in any responses - she even scheduled a rental car to be dropped off at the property and booked us a car to and from the airport. She was fantastic. A true vacation of a lifetime. There is not one negative thing I could say about this stay. It is a must for a true stay in tropical paradise.

Lattice House getaway

Our experience at Lattice House was better than anticipated. The house is fabulous and like other comments, believe it or not, the pictures do not do it justice! We enjoyed the meals by Alexandra, especially the empanadas. The hike to the waterfall was a bit scary! We walked between the tides at Bellerena National Park which was awesome and had a great kayaking experience with Dominical Adventures arranged through the house manager, Ana, Communication with Ana as easy and really helped us. We highly recommend Scala and Jolly Rogers because they are close and have great views. The food at Scala is upscale but not too pricey while the wings at Jolly Rogers were shockingly delicious! Overall, the trio to Costa Rica and our stay at Lattice House was top notch! We WILL be back!!

Your private nature sanctuary

I have rented more than 10 homes across Costa Rica and with Lattice House I have definitely found my absolute favourite! The house is located in an extremely large private property with a gate down at the main road from where it takes you about 2 minutes to drive all the way up to the house on the private road. In those 2 minutes you drive past the property‘s orchard and lush gardens. Be aware that if you rent Lattice House you don‘t just get a house but you get your own private nature sanctuary that will take you many days to explore! The value for money is simply unbelievable! You can tell this home was built to live in it and not to make profit from it as a rental home. Especially the kitchen is so well equipped that I as a passionate cook found everything that I usually miss in rental homes. The owner is very lovely and the local host is super communicative and friendly. Next to the entrance there is an instruction manual that explains everything. It is written in such an awesome way and with a great portion of humour that I read it three times!On the pictures the pool looks a bit shallow, but I am 175cm tall and the water covered my chin at the deepest point and it was just perfect. And you can enjoy that while having probably the best view on the whale tail beach of Uvita in the area.Even if you are a big group of people there are so many areas where you can enjoy your privacy on really comfortable furniture when you would like to spend some time alone.

Stunning property

Our family of four, including two older teens, was overjoyed to call Lattice House our home for the last six nights. The home itself is stunning, perfectly outfitted, and somehow luxurious in every way without being overstated. The bird-watching on the property was fantastic. The call of howler monkeys from above and below the house kept us on the lookout for mammals as well. While we didn't see the monkeys, we did see multiple agouti and coati every day. It was remarkably easy to work with Anna, the property manager, both before and during the trip. She arranged for a driver from the airport and had the rental car dropped off at the house. Additionally, we had Alexandria cook dinner for us on two evenings. Both were exceptional meals. Anna also recommended and arranged our activities. We were already fans of the Uvita region and had been looking for a truly relaxing escape from which to revisit the area. Lattice House more than delivered. We can't wait to return.

Absolute gorgeous place!

We just got back from a 9 night stay at Lattice house. This was perfect for my wife and I and 2 friends. Plenty of space and all the rooms were nice and big. The outdoor shower in the master was wonderful! Having the large sliding doors opened all day to the pool allowed for easy access to the pool and kitchen while allowing the wonderful breeze and wildlife noises to fill the house. You must hike to the waterfall! Saw monkeys on the way there and the waterfall its self is amazing. We had no complaints at all on this house and would definitely stay here again. One thing to note, if you have young children, the 2 bedrooms downstairs are access via an outside stairwell. We don't have kids no not a big deal but just an FYI. Make sure the visit playa hermosa right below the house as well as Ventana's beach. Diving on Cano island was spectacular. Alexandra's cooking was wonderful! We had planned for only 1 dinner the first night, but it was SO wonderful we booked her for another night!! All in all a wonderful vacation!!

Fabulous Lattice House

Paradise! At the risk of sounding like a worn out cliche I can't think of a more appropriate word to describe Lattice House. We have just returned from eight glorious days there and Pat (the owner) has graciously asked if there is anything I can think of to improve the experience. After a lot of thought I came up empty. Lots of positives though: 1: The location midway between Uvita and Domenical is excellent, beautiful beaches great shopping and restaurants. 2: Ana the concierge is amazing, incredibly attentive, thoughtful and full of terrific suggestions for activities and side trips and apparently able to arrange just about anything. 3: The house itself is nothing short of stunning. There were six of us and we barely made a dent in the available space. It is beautifully appointed inside and out which is important because the Costa Rican climate means that inside and outside are virtually synonymous. The pool/Jacuzzi area, and outside shower were big standouts for me. It's hard to imagine anyone not falling in love with this place. Pura Vida indeed!

Exceeded our expectations in every way!

Staying at Lattice House was like a dream vacation! The house itself is crafted so beautifully and artistically. The flow of indoor to outdoor is lovely! Ana was INCREDIBLE and helped us with arrival, shuttle, rental car, activities, meals, covid tests, recommendations and so much more! She was always available for questions and any of our needs. The pool and the view were so dreamy! The air conditioned rooms were a plus. We LOVED the outdoor shower and everyone wanted a turn! Alexandra and her staff prepared the most delicious and beautiful meals. We especially loved the setting being surrounded by the jungle and wildlife. The only thing about the house to be aware of is that the downstairs bedrooms are in a separate locked apartment. And if the main house is locked at night, then it makes it difficult to access. This would be important if you were traveling with small children but was not a problem for us at all. Costa Rica was one of our favorite places to visit! This was our first time and we hope to have many more opportunities to return! Thank you Ana, Pat, Alexandra and the Lattice House staff for helping to create this dream vacation for our family!!!

Beautiful scenery and sounds of nature

The owner, Patirica was wonderful, she answered all our questions before and after booking. We had to make a change and she made it easy. Thank you, Pat! Ana became our go-to person and she was fabulous! She arranged our ground transportation from/to San Jose airport. One person was delayed and Ana was quick to make arrangements for them. They were scared riding alone, but Ana assured them they were in safe hands. She arranged for Alexandra’s crew to prepare our first meal, it was exactly what we needed. Ana arranged for our car rental, massages, tour activities, wrote up an itinerary and messaged us before each activity. Anything we needed Ana was just a message away! Thank you, Ana! The House is spectacular with plenty of space to yourself or to come together. The view was beautiful, whether relaxing in the pool or hot tub or on the deck, taking in the scenery and sounds of nature. Bring good binoculars and be prepared to share with animals and insects. Recommend ziplock bags for food. The outdoor showers were a favorite! The hike to the Waterfall is strenuous, walking sticks and good hiking shoes recommended. Use insect repellent (especially on the tours)! *READ THE HOUSE BOOK! Highly recommend the Jungle ATV Tour, Guillermo and Alejando were our tour guides, and they were great! And the Chocolate Tour with Ronald. His wife makes the absolute best smoothies! I had to write a shorter version of everything but we HIGHLY RECOMMEND staying at the Lattice House!

Perfect Rental House

The view, the location, the cleanliness, and the comfort of the Lattice House alone would be enough to rate this with 5 stars, but I want to take a second to talk about the house manager Ana. This woman is by far the best rental house manager I’ve ever dealt with, and I’ve dealt with a lot. She always responded immediately and answered every one of my many questions. Being that I booked this trip with Covid still an issue, it was not as simple a trip as we usually take. Ana made sure I knew all of the travel requirements both to and from Costa Rica, and told me exactly what needed to be done to be tested before re-entering the states. She set up a driver to pick us up at the airport and bring us to the lattice house, and on our return day to bring us to the Covid testing site and then on to the airport. She also set up a rental car for us which was dropped off the morning after our arrival and I can’t emphasize enough how much hassle that saved me. (Alamo dropped the car off in the driveway on our first full day of vacation, and at the end of our vacation all we had to do was leave the key in the car for them to pick it up…..SO much better than returning it near the airport and taking a shuttle.) Ana also set us up with a home-cooked meal that was waiting upon our arrival. After a 5 hour flight that got delayed another 4 hours, plus the 4 hour car ride from the airport to the house, you can imagine how welcoming that meal was when we arrived. Not to mention, delicious. The house itself is amazing, which is obvious from the pictures. We were in the pool and the hot tub constantly, and used the soaking tub a couple nights as well. The bedrooms were very comfortable, we never even used the AC, the ceiling fan and the breeze from all of the screen doors and windows was enough. Since we were there during the rainy season, one of my favorite features was that part of the back deck and part of the pool/hot tub are covered by the roof so we were able to hang out on the porch and even go in the pool during heavy rains. The location is perfect as it is right in between Uvita and Dominical. You are only a few minutes drive into either town. The two grocery stores in Uvita are maybe 5 minutes away and you can get to any number of restaurants in less than 10 minutes (Beehive, Scala, Sibu, Jolly Roger, Ballena Bistro, Pizza Time, La Parcela, Fuego, Phat Noodle…just to name our favorites.) Do yourself a favor, rent this house, you won’t be disappointed.

I can't say enough good things about Lattice house. It made for a relaxing and memorable stay. I don't need to describe it - you can see for yourself how beautiful it is. I'll just talk about things that are less obvious.For starters, the accuracy of the pictures and descriptions is excellent. In fact, everything is even better in person. That often isn't the case in rental situations. Also, the kitchen is probably the best stocked I've ever seen in terms of the availability and quality of cookware, utensils, leftover storage bins, pans, etc. It was so easy to cook meals.I slept in the main bedroom and the bed was so comfortable. I slept great every night.Communication with the owner, Patricia, and the concierge, Ana, were phenomenal and easy. They were great resources and very helpful at every stage.Everything is so thoughtfully done, from the extra binoculars to the beach equipment in the garage, to plenty of flashlights, to umbrellas. It was one of our best vacations.

Perfection!

This property was even better than expected! Our family of seven, ranging in age from 11 - 78 years old, used this as our home base to explore the area, from Manuel Antonio down to Uvita. We fished, walked the whale tail, hiked Nauyaca Falls, and explored beaches, and the Lattice House location was perfect! We also spent alot of time at the property, between exploring the orchard, watching wildlife that visited each day, and relaxing in the pool and hot tub area, with beautiful ocean views. The house is extremely well-stocked and the property manager, Ana, is quick to respond to any questions and provide recommendations for the area. I would 10/10 return to Lattice House!

The most beautiful property!

You will never stay anywhere more beautiful! It is your own paradise. The house is perfect. Ana, the concierge, is so welcoming and helpful. She helped us plan everything we did and answered our many questions. Being able to rely on Ana's help, not having to research every detail was a true vacation!

Heaven on earth

We stayed for 5 nights with three couples aged 33 to 79. The understated elegance and way of bringing outdoors indoors was truly breathtaking. The ease of getting to either Dominical or Uvita was so easy, the hard part was deciding where to enjoy a meal out with so many choices. We did utilize the private chef on our first night and would highly recommend. So nice to arrive and not have to figure out where to grab dinner or have to get groceries and cook. We had a rental car delivered, thanks to Ana, and the process was seamless. While we were there we participated in a mangrove boat tour, the atv tour, and zip lining. All were amazing and everyone throughly enjoyed. When we weren't out exploring we enjoyed just sitting by the pool and taking in the scenery. The bird watching from the master bedroom deck was superb! Would 100% stay again. Thanks for an amazing family vacation.

My late husband and I purchased the property in 2000, and finished our retirement home in 2007. We loved the whole 3 year process of working with the Costa Rican and Balinese architects and designers and overseeing the building of our dream home. We originally planned to live there full-time, but that was before 15 grandchildren came along, and we decided to split time between Costa Rica and Houston/Galveston. Unfortunately, he did not live long after Lattice House was completed, and I decided to spend more time at my home in Galveston, near family and friends, and to share my home in Costa Rica with others who will love it as much as I do. I still get to spend about 3 months a year there--mostly in the summer when I can escape the Texas heat! I have wonderful friends there and treasure every minute I am there. We have wonderful times---hiking, swimming, boogie boarding, bird watching, and sharing wonder meals at home and in local restaurants. The picture is from a dinner at Lattice House on my trip last summer--me in the middle rear, surrounded by some of my closest Costa Rican friends who are fortunate to be full-timers, and Michael McCoy, second from the right front, from Bali, who was the primary designer and who continues to send new furnishings. Since that picture, he has had made for me beautiful new coconut dining chairs. Lattice House and Reserva de Achiote are my love, and all the rental income goes to its upkeep and improvement.

My husband and I wanted to retire to the tropics and in the early 90's started looking in Costa Rica. We loved the idea that it was so democratic and had no army. The first place we visited in 1993 was Dominical, but at that time there was no paved road from Jaco, and we decided it was just too remote for our later years. We looked all over CR, and by the time we decided no place was as beautiful as the southern Pacific coast, the road had been paved to Quepos and there were a few crucial amenities. We spent 3 years looking at property and finally in 2000 found Achiote, the most beautiful, accessible, and private property in the area. I retired in 2005, and the next day we were on a plane to our paradise.
