The house is absolutely beautiful! The kitchen has everything you may possibly need, the beds are very comfortable and the pillows are fantastic! (I'm very picky about pillows)From the patio we saw capuchin & howler monkeys, coatimundi, scarlet macaw and toucans. I cannot wait to return!!Thank you John for being available for any questions we had and recommendations!

This property is absolutely as advertised. The views and the nature are amazing. The pool is gorgeous. The beds are very comfortable. It truly feels like secret jungle hideaway. Easy, quick access to both Dominical and Uvita. Highly recommend.

This place was incredible for myself and my two sons. The bedrooms are air conditioned but the kitchen and rest of the property is not. However there are fans around and the breeze makes it feel like you dont even need it. My favorite part was all the animals we saw just saying at the house!The only complaints I have are that there was one small TV with chromecast that didnt seem to work and the internet went out when it rained. I know that seems dumb to complain about but when you've got two kids and it's the rainy season you need to find some other way to entertain so be prepared for that.Otherwise it was a great stay, the hosts were extremely helpful, and I would definitely stay there again if I ever get the chance!

Exceptional !!!! The flying toucan is exactly what me and my wife were looking for. This vacation hit every expectations and then some. This property is absolutely beautiful, very very private , safe , super clean , and accessible to many restaurants and attractions. To be honest , we actually spent more time at the property in the pool enjoying the beautiful views, then going out and about. It’s fun anticipating the arrival of the local wildlife that shows up randomly. Such a great experience with that part of it. We saw 2 different types of monkeys , toucans , we did not get to see a sloth , but they are around from what we were told. Overall we highly recommend this spot , we are already planning a trip back for next year.

The Flying Tucans was an absolutely amazing place. The home is beautiful and the setting is perfect. It was one of the most relaxing places I have been. We didn’t want to leave. The host and staff were great. The wild life in the area is incredible with the Sloth being the highlight of the trip. This is a must go and stay adventure.

Honestly I can’t say enough great things about this house. First, the house and pool were super clean and we saw so much wildlife: white faced capuchins (jumping on the roof no less), howler monkeys, toucans, scarlet macaws, coati’s, agouti’s, and lots of other birds. The hike down to the beach was awesome too. Be warned it’s slightly steep and slick due to leaves in parts, but we did it with a 4 year old. Use the walking sticks (should be some by the front door)! The payoff at the end was amazing, saw lots of hermit crabs and beautiful rocky beach area. The open air kitchen (which can be closed at night don’t worry) and outdoor seating area was amazing. You really feel you’re living outdoors almost. Quite literally paradise. The house is super private, super quiet, amazing views, close to Uvita and Dominical for dining. Be sure to visit Hacienda Baru for a wildlife tour while you’re here. We had a great time doing the zipline tour/nature walk there.

Flying Toucans is a little slice of Heaven. Very beautiful property and lots of animals visiting. We loved our stay here.

The property, the owner, and the property manager were all INCREDIBLE! I really can’t say enough to describe how wonderful EVERYTHING was. No need to look anywhere else! This is the property you want to book! And these are the owners you want to stay with! You will not be disappointed!!!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay! The indoor - outdoor set up for the kitchen was exactly what we didn't know we wanted. We loved enjoying the sights, sounds, smells (one tree was in bloom and had a lovely faint floral sent as you walked by) and all the wildlife! Howlers, capuchins, toucans, coatis and tons of beautiful birds. The views are divine and although we weren't in the right season for sun views of the sunrise and sunset, they were still breathtaking. And coffee on the balcony - perfect way to start each day. We had no idea we would enjoy the kitchen so much and grabbed tuna from a local fish market on a whim and it ended up being one of the best fish dishes we've ever had. The ability to open the windows during showering was a fun experience and the A/C in the bedrooms was nice after hot days at the beach. John was incredibly informative, responsive and gave us some great recommendations. Book this place, you won't regret it! (As you've seen from all the other reviews, and they're not lying!) We would absolutely come back again and will recommend to anyone who's on a Costa Rican holiday!

Amazing family vacation

We had a wonderful time at Flying Toucans! The owners were responsive, the views were spectacular, and the wildlife was unreal. My son especially liked the early morning monkey watching. It’s a trip we will always remember!

I cannot overstate how absolutely perfect this property was for our family. Honestly, I could not find a single flaw. The attention to detail is very high, everything you need was available, and was extremely comfortable in every way. The property was immaculate and as described. John is an excellent host. We felt very safe, welcomed, and relaxed. I can’t recommend this property enough.The home very much celebrates the surrounding nature, focused on outdoor living spaces, and literally living within feet of wild animals. If you are one who requires a closed up, air conditioning space, or complete separation from nature, this might not be your first choice. But if you want to experience Costa Rica in an intimate setting with the comforts of Home, I cannot imagine a more perfect vacation home.

Costa Rican experience! Beautiful and lively with wildlife. Sunrise to sunsets spectacular. Hike to the beach great workout! Outdoor living and indoor sleeping! Miss it already!

Of course the view!

View and location are amazing! Small price to pay is the noise from the nearby Highway 34 at night coming from trucks using their jake brake. Otherwise highly recommended. Great host.

Beautiful place!

We enjoyed our stay at Flying Toucans! The pool, the view and the wild life were plenty enough entertainment for us. We were just there to relax, as we've been to Costa Rica several times. There are several excellent restaurants nearby and plenty of fresh fruit ti buy to snack on and/or have for breakfast. You will not regret booking this place!

Incredible Property

Our family of four thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Flying Toucans. I doubt there’s anything else I can say that hasn’t already been said. Booking this property is a no brainer. Worth the drive there and every penny spent.

Perfect Costa Rican vacation!

The Flying Toucans is an exceptionally well thought out property with a spectacular location, amazing views of the coastline down to Marino Ballena and an incredible veranda and pool to enjoy the views, the sunsets and the daily animal visits! John, the owner, is a delightfully attentive host! We had such a hard time leaving this blissful property and hope to return again soon!!!

Fantastic experience!

Great home in a perfect location! We had so many animals visit I stopped taking pictures of them unless they were doing something "unusual". The house was perfect and I look forward to going back in the future!

Surely one of the most beautiful places on earth!

There may be other places that are just as beautiful as Flying Toucans but when combined with the constant parade of wildlife and the quiet and peaceful setting, we think it is unbeatable. We have read, and wholeheartedly agree, with all the other positive comments from past guests. Our stay was for the Month of February, 2013.

Amazing place in the world

We have traveled extensively- but never Costa Rica. This place was by far our favorite and when we return to Costa Rica we will skip all other places. Everything that makes CR great is right there at flying toucans. It is truly a wonderful home. Saw more wildlife there than on any paid tours. Owners couldn’t possibly be more helpful and accommodating. The great reviews are accurate and it’s even better when you get there! We hope to be back!! My teen and tween loved it!

February/March 2020 stay

We very much enjoyed the property especially the large covered terrace overlooking the pool, ocean and mountains in the distance. I always wonder if the online photos will be accurate but in this case they were! The property is remote but we liked that aspect of it. The views and the proximity to nature/wildlife around the home made the stay very memorable.

Amazing villa with a breathtaking view

The villa was very clean and well taken care of, down to the smallest detail. John was very easy to reach and was incredibly helpful during our entire stay. The pictures online are nice, but you don't get the full effect until you get there. It is a picturesque slice of paradise. We had an amazing time and would absolutely love to come back.

Jungle Seclusion with a world class view!

This one of a kind property has wildlife everywhere. While sitting on the front patio viewing the Pacific Ocean waves crashing on the shore, we had coatimindis, raccoons, white faced monkeys, howler monkeys, toucans, all come for a visit. The wildlife was spectacular, and it was frequent. The view from the pool is what dreams are made of. This is a special place!
