Whidbey Island Mid-century Modern Waterfront Getaway - Epic Views !!

Vores sted føles som om det er en verden væk, men det er kun en kort 90 minutters tur fra Seattle. Beliggende i den olympiske regnskygge, får området flere dagtørre end fastlandet. Det er det perfekte sted at flygte fra byen og genoplade. Huset har været et kærlighedsarbejde for vores familie, da vi har omhyggeligt restaureret / bevaret det til sin oprindelige 1960'ers middelalderlige moderne vintage komplet med moderne finish / væsen komfort. Vi har besat over alle detaljer - fra de genbrugte materialer, der anvendes til solstole, blødheden af linnedpladerne, lydsystemets lydkvalitet, tykkelsen af håndklæderne, ordforrådet for den stemmeaktiverede hjemmeautomatisering , det lagerfizzy vand i køleskabet, til de omhyggeligt kuraterede Whidbey Island anbefalinger, listen fortsætter og fortsætter. Ingen detaljer er blevet overset.

Vores sted er beliggende i Windmill Heights kvarteret på vestsiden af Whidbey Island, i den nordlige ende af Mutiny Bay, som (sammen med Useless Bay) er bredt anset for at være en af ?? de bedste strande på øen. Kvarteret består af 30 boliger, hvoraf 14 som vores er på vandet. Delightful stay on Whidbey

We had a great time! Beautiful home and setting. Nice stroll to the beach and easy drives to Freeland, Coupeville, and Langley. Beds were VERY comfy. Great communication with the host on questions.

Beautiful views

Communication with owner great when we had questions. Check-in and check-out a breeze. Kitchen very well stocked with everything you need and beds very comfortable. Views from deck fabulous and fire ring a plus.

Very Enjoyable Stay

The home has amazing views of the water, the mountains and receives daily visits from a group of bald eagles. It is in a good location to take advantage of the many hikes and beach walks the island offers. Overall a very positive and enjoyable stay. No issues or concerns to report and the hosts were available and responsive to our questions.

Views for Days!

This was our second stay at this beautiful property and once again, we were sad to leave! The house is beautiful, spacious and well-appointed. We appreciate all of the tech that the owners have incorporated. The location is perfect - it's on a dead-end street, so there is little to no traffic and the views from the deck cannot be beat. I could (and do) stare out at that water all day long! The hosts are great to work with too. If I had one suggestion, it would be to put screens on the windows/sliding door so that guests could take advantage of the ocean breezes and fresh air. Thank you so much - we can't wait to come back!

Beautiful Puget Sound Views

The owner was very responsive to few questions we had and was helpful. The house is situated in a quiet neighbor hood with spectacular views of the Sound and the Olympics with a wonderful deck to sit and watch the ships go by and the lovely sunsets. The bathrooms and kitchen are updated with beautiful finishes. The master bedroom is large and the other bedrooms had plenty of room. The house is in a convenient location to beaches, to public gardens, grocery stores and Langley. It was easy to get on the highway and spend a day in Deception Pass. This is our first stay in this property but our third stay on Whidbey Island.

Lovely home with incredible views

This home is situated in a nice and quiet neighborhood. Whidbey Island is small enough that everything (i.e. tourist destinations, grocery stores, coffee shops, and good restaurants) was a quick drive from the house. The house was very clean; the views from the kitchen windows, living room, and deck were out of this world. The solo stove on the deck allowed us to hang out there even when it was a little chilly. Hosts were kind and very responsive to text messages. We really appreciate their thoughtful renovations to this gem of a house. The only thing that didn't hit a "10" was that the bed was extra firm (in our opinion) but that would not stop us from coming back here. Truly beautiful.

Amazing view and thoughtful touches!

This is a great vacation home on Whidbey Island. The view is stunning and we spent a lot of time on the huge deck watching ships and weather come and go. You have a beautiful view of the Olympics and Seattle and Mt. Rainier as well. We saw every type of ship including a submarine! The location is perfect for accessing different parts of the island including Langley, Coupeville, Ebeys Landing, Fort Casey and even Deception Pass is an easy drive. The beach which you access via a short walk and down new wood and metal steps is beautiful, wild and very private. The walk down the beach to Mutiny Bay and then up to the farm stand at Foxtail Farms is fun and we bought beautiful produce there often. The owners have included lots of thoughtful touches that helped make our stay nice including Nespresso pods, wine, caramels, San Pellegrino and Fuji waters. The beds, pillows, sheets and duvets are all new and very comfortable. We went as a family of two adults and two teenagers. We had plenty of space and it was great for each teen to have their own room. There was lots of space on the sectional for all four of us to watch family movies at night and a new flat screen TV. There is a hammock and a swing outside which adults and teenagers loved using. Also I really appreciated that our dog was a welcome guest as well. The only improvement I’d recommend to the owners is to update the bathrooms at some point, especially the showers. Also there were missing screens in the master bedroom which let in a lot of bugs. It’s nice on the island to keep doors and windows open to feel the sea breeze. Adding screens would help. I recommend this property for the beautiful view and thoughtful touches as well as a great location on Whidbey.

Perfect getaway to explore Whidbey Island. They have a rope swing in the back yard which was a big hit with our granddaughter. The home had a very nice welcome gift, clean, beautiful views, and is a lovingly cared for Mid century home on the water.

I highly recommend this property. My stay there was quite perfect. The house is easy to work with, owners couldn’t be more accommodating and then there is the breathtaking view. It doesn’t get any better.

Get away heaven

The house and the view are amazing! Could sit on the deck all day long and watch the ships go by or look for whales, wildlife. It is nestled in a small community and you have a feeling of being away from all the stress. Well stocked kitchen with everything you need to make your own meals and coffee. Things that match. Wonderfully remodeled bathrooms - this house was a dream. Communication was easy and everything was set up for us to use. The little details made a difference! Celebrated my birthday and could not have asked for a better location and house. We will be back!

Whimsy on Whidbey

We love this house! We spent our 3rd visit to this wonderful home with our family of 4 adults, our 2 kids and our dog. The house is stocked for a week with a family! Tons of games, great tech options, ping pong table, and corn hole kept the kids busy. The hosts create a great space for cooking in as a family with the kitchen really well appointed. The house is cozy for sunny days and for cool nights. We enjoyed the solo stove for a fire at dusk with some delicious wine from the island. The house is centrally located on the island and close to great places to site see such as the Meerkirk Garden's, Langley, Greenbank Farms, and Dancing Fish Winery. Freeland has everything you need close at hand. The hosts are gracious and wonderful communicators. Highly recommend this home!

Pudget Sound Retreat

Serene, cozy respite

We absolutely love staying in this cozy, warm and peaceful retreat! We were able to press the pause button on the world for a couple of days. We have stayed here in the past, and, look forward to returning! (Our little dog, Mollie felt right at home, too, and, napped peacefully the whole time!)

Fabulous staycation

The home was just as described. Cozy house in a quiet neighborhood. The kitchen has everything you need- and great quality products (like Crate and Barrel and West Elm ). Easy instructions for check in with lots of information on local activities. Hosts are very responsive as well. It was a perfect staycation and we hope to return again soon!

Beauty on Whidbey

Amazing and beautiful stay on Whidbey. This is our second stay at this mid-century gem. The hosts are responsive and welcoming. The house is well appointed, great for families for both exploring the island and just chilling out watching the sun set over the Olympic Mountains. Clean, comfortable, and great location. The EV charging access is an amazing plus!! Highly recommend this home!

We have lived in Seattle for the past 25 years. Naureen has a background in real estate and Shehryar works with tech startups. We left no stone unturned in our search for a second home and landed on the west side of Whidbey Island as the perfect destination to escape the hustle and bustle of city life with our 12 and 14 year old sons and a Labradoodle. Wanderlust has taken us to over 25 different countries across 5 continents. We have stayed in hundreds of hotels, pensions, and B&B’s and have drawn inspiration from all of them for this property.

Our place is located in the Windmill Heights neighborhood on the west side of Whidbey Island, on the north end of Mutiny Bay, which (along with Useless Bay) is widely considered to be one of the best beaches on the Island. The neighborhood comprises of 30 homes of which 14, like ours, are on the water. Centrally located on South Whidbey, the town of Freeland is an 8 minute drive, Langley 20 minutes, Greenbank 15 minutes, Coupeville 25 minutes, the Clinton Ferry Terminal 20 minutes, and Coupeville Ferry Terminal 25 minutes.

We love the views, access to the beach, the artsy community of South Whidbey Island, great restaurants, and the dryer weather (as compared to Seattle).
