The beach property was exactly what we needed for a two-day, fall getaway. The views from the living room and kitchen/dining room are stunning, and being steps from the beach was perfect. The kitchen has every doo-dad you might need to make a meal, and the burgers we had on the grill were tasty. Though we had no children with us, there were toys strewn across the sand "yard" to the beach, so it felt like we were settled in for proper beach getaway with a big family even though there were only 3 adults with us. An eagle spent an entire morning with us perched on the driftwood in front of the cottage, and watching the wildlife every day was a highlight. Other people here can tell you about the kayaks and other beach fun that can be had at this location. Very nice visit!

Great property for a family weekend stay. Lots of amenities to make things comfort and fun. One little mishap with the cleaners taking the key home accidentally, but after reaching out to the owners, we able to get in within an hour or so.

We stayed here for a birthday weekend and had a great time overall. The location is unbeatable, right on the beach, and we loved using the kayaks and sitting around the firepit in the evenings. The kitchen was well-stocked with spices and oils, and the welcome wine was a thoughtful touch. Lots to do around, and the beach was spectacular. The decor at home had a personal touch to it.On the downside, the beds were creaky, and the grandfather clock rings every hour at night (we eventually figured out how to turn it off). The master bedroom door doesn’t lock, and we also noticed quite a few ants and fruit flies in the kitchen. We had some delays in check in as we had trouble figuring out how to enter. Overall, the stay was memorable, but a few updates would make go a long way in making it a perfect experience.

Wonderful stay in Whidbey! We enjoyed the expansive views of the Puget Sound and the walks on the shoreline. There were plenty of places to enjoy the outside and put our feet in the sand. Nice location and the home was well furnished. Overall, a great getaway!

Amazing home right on the beach! Useless Bay is the best beach on Whidbey. Most homes on the beach are summer folks so it was like we had it all to ourselves. So close to Seattle yet a world away. This home has it all but you stay here for the beach, the water, wildlife and view. The whole beach side is all windows so whether you're inside or out, you can take it all in.

We just left your beautiful paradise enjoyed it so much. The neighborhood Eagle graced us with his majesty twice and we found the happy little sea otter's banquet table, along with the herons,so much ocean life on the beach. The Kayaks were taken out twice. Thank you so much.Wonderful restful weekend and a great place to turn 50 for our daughter-in-law.

This is the best street and beach on Whidbey. Lots of beautiful sandy beach walks and gorgeous houses to look at and paths to walk in the wetlands as well. This is the only rental left on the beach side, so we’re very grateful the owners still share it with renters. It’s an older house with a few quirks but the main bathroom has been updated, there’s lots of sleeping space and the deck is brand new and very spacious.

Check in and check out a breeze. The beds are comfortable and the house had everything we needed. The beach access and view were beyond fabulous. We saw bald eagles on the beach, went fishing and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Lovely home

This home was very comfortable with an easy feel and beautiful, fun, beach access. We could tell this home is loved and has maritime character. Billy was responsive, kitchen was stocked like home. We appreciated the games and children's books around too.

Unforgettable

The house was perfect. The beach, the firepit and the views were perfect. The house was warm and inviting. Plenty of room for all four of us. Walking on the beach in the morning before the day began was soul moving. It was amazing to have a full moon at night and to see Seattle at night and even the Space Needle during the day. We couldn't see Mount Rainier until the second day and it was breathtaking. All of the views and wildlife and the central location to everything happing on the south end of the island. We didn't get to see any whales but we will be back to try that part again.

Winter Weekend

Wonderful location

Beachfront property is ideally situated on a quiet street with friendly neighbors. Beautiful views of Mt. Rainier and Seattle skyline on clear days. House was well stocked and cozy. The lower level has been nicely done with bunks, shuffleboard and cute bar. Constructive comments would be: refinish the shuffleboard surface so it’s usable, and do a clean out and reorganization of kitchen and bathroom drawers and cupboards. Aside from those, it’s a great place and we had a great stay!

Great location, cozy place to stay!

This was a fantastic location - right on the beach and short walk to Double Bluffs park. Short drive to Langley, close to grocery store and other amenities on the island. The kids loved being able to play right on the beach and it was easy to keep watch from the deck and living room. The 2 upstairs BRs were nice, quiet, and comfortable. The third "bedroom" has a twin bed but is in a loft/stairwell alcove. Okay if you don't expect to close a BR door; not okay if you want more privacy. The basement was nicely set up as a kids hang out/crash pad with bunk bed (twin on top, double on bottom) and a separate twin bed, and shuffleboard. It was OK for a couple of nights, but a dehumidifier would help with the musty smell, and some extra rugs to make the room even cozier. Kids loved having their own space. The kitchen had most of what you needed (oil, spices, plates/utensils/knives). Suggestion to include a few additions/updates to the kitchen: Cookie sheets for roasting/baking; additional cutting boards; tongs. We had planned to BBQ but couldn't because it had already been put away for the winter; would have been helpful to know ahead of time! TVs are not "smart". We couldn't stream movies from our accounts. We figured it out via HDMI connection to our laptop. All in all - It kind of felt like staying at Aunt Mildred's. The house could use a few updates but no dealbreakers. The location is GREAT and it was exactly what we were looking for to get away for the weekend!

Thumbs up.

Had a lovely time. Our stay coincided with a big storm and it was quite eventful lots of wind and rain, but we were snug and warm. We are giving The home five stars, but do y want to note that the stairway to the basement should have a sign that there is a step down after the doorway because in the winter with bad lighting it is easy to take a fall which my husband did. He was OK but it did give us a scare.
