Peaceful

The place was peaceful and relaxing. Neighborhood was perfect for my family. The restaurant was excellent with a wide variety of food.

Great place

Spacious 3 bedroom unit and close to many activities. We rented a golf cart and enjoyed the snorkeling right off the beach.

Great time had by all!

Everything was clean and well kept. The staff was attentive and friendly. My family (a total of 10) rented 2 condos and it was perfect.

Awesome 3 Bedroom Condo at Akumal Del Sol

Loved out stay in this 3 BR/3 Bath Condo. Clean, well-maintained with great service from friendly staff. Spectacular views of Half Moon Bay and beach from comfortable balcony with two hammocks. Great snorkeling. You will enjoy lunch and dinner at La Buena Vida Restaurant. Don't miss this!

Vista Del Mar is fabulous! Great place for multiple ages and activity levels.

Yes to all of the review tips and guidelines. There is a really nice about 4 miles south of Akumal that I would recommend. We went to Aktun Chen this time and were very impressed. This was our sixth stay at Vista Del Mar.

Snorkeling with the Turtles

Our family of 5 greatly enjoyed a 3 night stay in a 3 BR at Del Sol Beachfront. There was plenty of room, the AC worked very well, the beds were firm and very comfortable. Ocean views fantastic and excellent snorkeling right out the front door. Able to swim with the green turtles! Everything was excellent.

Great Location

We stayed four nights, a long girls weekend and were treated so nice by everyone. I would go back anytime! It was all it said it would be. Clean, right on the beach we could snorkel from the beach that is steps away. The area is off the beaten path which was just right for us. Great restaurants nearby, beautiful beach and scenery. Highly recommend this place since they treat you so nice.

New Years in Akumel

We enjoyed our stay. The staff were excellent and the unit was very nice. I brought my two teenage kids and they had lots to do in the immediate area and through day trips via rental car. Our only disappointment was the fact that there was a lot of seaweed on the beach, but that is not the fault of Vista del Mar! I would recommend this location to others.

Thanks for your review. We always appreciate hearing from our guests. The seaweed, or sargassum that you saw on the shoreline, is a vital part of the marine ecosystem. The seaweed plays a part in protecting against erosion, and also offers protection and nutrients to the hundreds of species of wildlife, especially turtle hatchlings. Although some people consider the sargassum as an eyesore, it is an integral part of nature's cycle. We have intentionally left it there to do its part in the cycle.

This was our sixth stay a...

This was our sixth stay at Vista del Mar. We wouldn't think of going anywhere else. The condos have the best location in Akumal. We love how quiet Half Moon Bay is, even though we go during one of the busiest times of the year. There is plenty to do in Akumal, and tons to do in the area. The staff is the same every year, they are wonderful! We love our week at Vista del Mar.

My Place in Paradise

I spent a wonderful time at Vista Del Mar. I stayed at one of the studios which was fantastic! It has a great private terrace with a spectacular ocean view. The studio is spacious with a kitchenette and the bathroom has a large jacuzzi bathtub with a big window and view to the ocean...just fabulous!!! I have no hesistation in recommending this place to anyone especially to couples who would like to escape on a romantic get away.

Highly Recommend Vista Del Mar

Really loved our stay at VDM! Beautiful, clean, comfortable, right on the beach with gorgeous views of Half Moon Bay off our generous balcony all at a great price. I was amazed to find each bedroom had it's own bathroom - perfect for us as we were traveling with teenagers. We didn't get around to doing half the activities available because it was so great just to step into the water and snorkel, watch the turtles, and hang out down the beach at La Buena Vida. Staff were very helpful, replacing propane when our stove ran out, keeping us stocked with fresh water, and clean linens. I look forward to returning and exploring more!

Our only complaint is the pillows were very uncomfortable and we never had enough towels and never got any beach towels, we had to go buy our own beach towels.

Nice bldg but sub-optimal beach

Condo very nice - Great beds and kitchen facilities. 1-2 days worth of coffee would be nice - Had plenty of fresh water available. Condo complex pool on the small-ish side. Major issue is lack of swimmable beach - Have to walk 1/4 mile north for easier access. Also, sargassum seaweed is really bad again - on entire Maya Riviera. If not into ocean swimming, condo otherwise has gorgeous views and nice breezes.

We had a wonderful experience with the condo, staff and town. We do think they should have a light blanket available in addition to the heavy one, and offer a selection of different pillows, (some softer,or smaller). It would also be nice to have lounge chairs that will recline flat. I also think they should make it clear on their web site that there is no discount for 7 nights at holiday time. All else was great!

Relax on the beach

This condo was great. We had plenty of room and the view is beautiful. The daily cleaning service was excellent and much appreciated. The restaurants in Akumal are fantastic. We do wish we had a pool that was not within the restaurant, but all in all our trip was fabulous. We rented bikes a couple of days just for fun and ease of getting to a few dinners a bit further away from condo. The two mini markets at the foot of our condo were cash only but very inexpensive for basic shopping needs. Everyone in Akumal was super friendly. The hammocks on deck were great too. Normally would say 5 star but we were bummed about the pool in the restaurant full of kids and people eating nearby. The condo itself and people are 5 star for sure.

I must give heartiest of ...

I must give heartiest of thanks to the staff at Vista del Mar. We stayed for 3 nights in total - the last two in one of the 3-bed condos - during the New Year's celebrations. From the moment we arrived to the time we left, we were treated like guests in the truest sense of the word. The eve of New Year's, we were surprised to be met at the door of the condo with a bottle of wine, courtesy of the hotel. I don't believe that has happened at any other hotel I've spent the holidays, and it was a lovely gesture. The condos were clean and spacious, and the sight and sound of the sea was a welcome respite to my New York City self, as well as the others in the family who were also grateful to have such a wonderful, comfortable accommodation in such a beautiful, relaxing setting. I will most definitely recommend Vista del Mar to friends in the future, and would happily take the opportunity to visit again.

Del Sol Condos

Overall, this 3 bedroom condo was very well maintained and a perfect size for our family of four. It was on the beach and the view was stunning as promised. Staff was very nice and always helpful. Be aware of the rocks that you have to navigate when going into the ocean. You will definitely have to have swim shoes for this!! The pool for the condos is a good five minute walk from the condo and located right next to the restaurant. If the pool makes a big difference to you, you might be a little disappointed. Very small with a couple of plastic chairs to sit on. We weren't looking for a nice pool so we were not really affected. It would be nice if it were a bit closer to the condo when you would like to take a quick dip or a lap or two. The restaurant has very good food with very good service. We enjoyed our stay at Del Sol Condos.
