Absolutely beautiful location and views are amazing. Very quiet. Right on a canal with deck. Great base to explore Amsterdam, Edam, Monnickenham, Zannes schans windmills, Voldeham etc. Very comfortable cottage in a lovely village. 10 min drive to a supermarket in Monnickenham or there is a small corner shop walking distance. Bus approx lovely 5 min walk down cobblestone street to the cottage. Use of bike and canoe, we did not use.Very clean. Has 4 burner cooktop and microwave, no oven which is fine. No washing machine in the cottage but Lia mentioned she could assist if required. Heating very efficient. We had a very wet day so went to a laundromat in a nearby villageEasy free car parking. No stairs to or in cottage.Great communication from LiaA great stay

Beautiful bed and breakfast for our long weekend. The home is perfectly located between Amsterdam and Volendam. We took the bikes that are available for guests and enjoyed a great day trip to volendam. With the bus or for a small price a bolt/uber car can take you into the city. The home was comfortable and cozy with everything you could need. The landscape surrounding the home is serene and watching the animals was a great start to the day. Thanks again Lia and George for a great stay.

The quiet location was perfect, lovely views but also a very quick bus ride from the city. The hosts were also lovely.

We had a really beautiful and relaxing stay. Lia and George are very warm and welcoming hosts. The location is right next to a small stream and the view on the local horses, ducks and sheep was a nice extra!

The hosts were very communicative and friendly and provided a lot of information about the area. The property was very clean and peaceful with a wonderful location close to Amsterdam. The bus station was a short walk away, which made navigating very easy.

The property was a ten minute walk from the bus stop, overlooking the canal and farm field...a beautiful setting. The kitchen was equipped with enough to prepare some basic meals. Because we were out most of the day, we were able to prepare our breakfast and an easy evening meal if needed. Our host were gracious and very accomodating. We wondered what it would be like to stay north of Amsterdam....we loved it

Wonderful stay in Broek

We had an amazing time - the location is great for bike or bus trips to nearby towns, and the commute into Amsterdam is really easy. The family is wonderful and being on the canal was really nice and relaxing. Would highly recommend this stay!!

I can't begin to describe how lovely this cottage is. Located next to the hosts' home at the edge of town. The patio is right on the canal, beautiful and quiet, perfect place to enjoy a coffee or watch the birds. House is very cute and comfortable and the hosts were accommodating. Note that the washing machine is not in the cottage but is in the hosts' home - they very kindly washed a load of laundry for us and hung it out to dry. The bikes were a fantastic inclusion to help us explore the area (which I highly recommend), but could benefit from some maintenance.

Nice short trip

We would come back to this beautiful little house any time! The location is perfect for a nice quiet vacation. We especially loved the lovely view in the morning!

Our hosts were very responsive, effective and helpful with pre-arrival communications, and also while we were staying in the cottage. The cottage and the location are ideal for a highly enjoyable and relaxing break. The village and its surrounds are a treasure - the scenery, the homes, the facilities (church, cafes, shops, restaurants) and, most of all, the people. The small village atmosphere made our visit -we felt like we were the only tourists. Just two MINOR quibbles. We expected to have a washing machine in the cottage. The property listing features a photo of a cottage on the water, surrounded by a beautiful garden. This was not the cottage we stayed in, so a rather misleading photo of the "exterior". The cottage we stayed in is appealing in its own right.

Great stay

Thanks for allowing us to stay in your unit. It was very clean and had everything we needed. The view outside overlooking the canal was very relaxing and enjoyable.

Nice and friendly cottage

Strongly recommend for North Holland. Friendly owner, a great view from the sofas, safe parking lot and all what you need for a nice holiday. Easy with the bus to Amsterdam, nice natural surrounding, perfect bicycle tours and great small villages easy to reach. Thank you for the great visit.

Amsterdam Retreat

We loved our stay here. We were able to enjoy Amsterdam and get away from all the chaos in this charming place just minutes away. It was easy to get there by bus and about 0.5 miles to the property. George and Lia were wonderful hosts!

Absolutely Wonderful

Fantastic hosts, a true hidden Gem. We felt so lucky to find this place, please don’t tell everybody. Getting to Amsterdam on transit is a cake walk, we took the bus no parking issues. We will be back to Amsterdam and this will be our number 1 choice

Broek in Waterland

Lovely, little place outside Amsterdam. Leia was a wonderful host, very helpful, even walked with us down to local market and helped us shop! Walked with us to show us where local restaurants and shops were.

quiet getaway

well taken care of, the hosts are very kind and helpful. the place was exactly as described and the views were incredible. the town is very nice and not far from downtown by bus. easy to get to Centraal if you desire. it was nice to have the bikes to explore the surrounding area.

Great little house!

What a great town and so close to Amsterdam. The bus is very easy into the city, and then you’re back in a quiet space looking at the canal, ducks, and horses. The cottage feels bigger than it looks in the photos because the bathroom is well separated from the rest of the house — and then you have more space outside on the deck.
