A well-appointed second story apartment overlooking the Rappahannock River in Middlesex County north of Urbanna and Water View. Coastal farmhouse-styled open concept with full kitchen, living and dining spaces, 1 full bathroom w/shower, king bed, and twin bunk beds (separate bedroom).

Access to small beachfront. Great for kayak launch and beach time on the river. Access to an outdoor courtyard with dining space and grill, a dock to watch the river roll by, and an in-season veggie garden.

Staying at the Loft is truly an "unplugged" experience. Bring your own hotspot/MiFi for internet as needed.

20 minutes to Urbanna. 1-1.5 hours to Richmond, Williamsburg, and Busch Gardens. Near Buoy 11.

Stays up to one week available. Owners perform extensive cleaning between guests. 3 days is scheduled between guest check-ins and outs to allow for cleaning.

We can recommend a nearby nice kennel for pet parents.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here ! The loft apartment was very clean and well appointed with everything we could need. The apartment was more spacious than I expected. Just a short walk down the yard to the small beach and dock, and we spent great hours kayakng and just sitting on the beach. Kristine and Scott were very friendly, helpful and great to get to know a little. We will definitely be looking to visit and stay there again

riverside retreat

We were in the area for wedding activities and this place was great for access to Urbanna. More importantly it gave us a place to relax between gatherings. The hosts were exceptionally kind and supportive, and the opportunity for my husband and I to sit on the dock and watch the river go by was just perfect for a start to the day.

One of the best places we’ve stayed

Rappahannock River Unplugged Was amazing. It was just right for our family of three. Kristine and her husband personally greeted us when we arrived. She was very responsive. The loft is updated, almost like new. It was a short walk to the river. Very quiet and pleasant. My son said he would like to live in a place like that! I highly recommend it.

A slice of Heaven

I really enjoyed my stay on the scenic Rappahannock river! The place was beautiful, just as advertised and the owners were so very kind and accommodating. It was very quiet and I felt like I had the whole property to myself. I cannot recommend this enough for a quiet weekend getaway.

This place is truly an oasis in a beautiful part of the world. The furnishings and kitchen are contemporary and beautifully chosen. The view of the Rappahannock River is magnificent and there's even an osprey nest with ospreys that use it. The bathroom is gorgeous too. The hosts are welcoming and you are greeted with wine, cheese and crackers. I wish we lived closer so that we could stay there more often. Nearby Urbanna is also a great place to eat, take a boat ride, and enjoy the quaint town.

This location is perfect for a weekend away to disconnect. The property owners were so welcoming and accommodating, and lovely people. The rental was spacious, very clean, and we felt perfectly at home. The pier and kayaking was relaxing, and a great view. We will defiantly be back!

A Lovely Stay

Accomodations could not have been better- Loft is over garage so there are fairly steep stairs, but that wasn't an issue for us. Everything was perfect. Kristen and Scott are gracious hosts-.

Dear Stables, Thank you for making our getaway so special! Your kindness, hospitality and attention to detail made every moment so relaxing. Your loft is beautiful and very tastefully decorated. Our boys loved making smores at the fire pit and spending time at the pier. They already want to come back during Summer!

Exquisite Experience !!!

Kristine and Scott’s Exquisite loft has a stunning view of the Rapahanock River and is spectacular inside and out! Spotless Clean and stocked up with anything you might imagine or need in the utmost taste and design! Airy, bright and very welcoming the Loft feels immediately like home. A wonderful bottle of wine, cheese and salami was waiting for to enjoy on the pier on the property. Our hosts prepared Kayaks for us and offered to startup the fire pit ! We enjoyed a lovely dinner at the Tides Inn in Irvington and other meals in near by Urbanna, both experiences being fabulous ! We will come back soon and want to stay often at this lovely loft for romantic getaways !

Wonderful relaxing getaway

My wife and I just loved our stay here at the Loft. The location of the Loft is perfect, it's on the water and in a secluded location. The owners are two wonderful and went out of their way to make sure our stay was perfect. We totally, enjoyed our stay here and will definitely be returning again when the weather is warmer. The scenic drives my wife and I took were breathtaking. You will love the decor of the Loft,and my wife describes it as an HGTV Dream Home decor at it's best, and they have everything you need for your stay here. Do yourself a favor and book your getaway at the Loft, you won't regret it.

Fantastic stay!

My husband and I came to the river loft for a long weekend together. The loft was exactly as pictured- spotless, cozy, and beautifully designed. The owners have obviously put a so much thought into the amenities provided and those details are what made it such a pleasant stay. Even though you are on the same property as the owners, you are staying in a separate building and it feels completely private. You also get a beautiful view of the river and are a short drive from Something Different an absolutely phenomenal restaurant that was recommended by the owners.

Pristine, stylish and comfortable accommodations

We stayed for a rainy winter weekend, so we didn’t get to experience all this property had to offer, but it was very cozy and comfortable for our needs. The king bed is very comfy and the loft is spotless and beautifully furnished. Kristine has thought of everything you need to enjoy your stay. It would even be comfortable for a family of 4. Our Verizon signal wasn’t all that strong but was good for phone calls and slow internet. Perfect place to unplug and unwind. There’s not much nearby but it’s about 20 mins to Tappahannock or Urbanna.

Perfect getaway

Comfy and cozy. What you see is what you get. We arrived at night and had no idea the beauty of the view. When we woke up it was perfect. The owners are wonderful people. Our highest recommendation possible.

Lovely Retreat

The property was exactly as it was pictured. The owners bent over backwards to make my stay comfortable. They left a nice welcome gift, made sure I had dry cushions on the deck furniture and I was set up to enjoy the lovely view of the river.

Incredible stay!!

My wife and I stayed here for a quick getaway with our 2 month old and it was absolutely perfect. It is new, clean, well appointed and extremely comfortable. The owners were so friendly and went above and beyond to make sure we had a great stay. Thanks again!

Amazing place and people

The Stables' property has been in the family for over 30 years. The loft apartment was constructed in 2019.

Proximity to all the wonderful towns and festivals of the Middle Peninsula and Northern Neck. A very peaceful, rural coastal setting.

A perfect launch point for small watercraft on the Rappahannock River. We welcome members of the Church of the Double-Bladed Paddle. Bring your own kayak and gear.

Urbanna boasts wonderful restaurants and shopping, a gallery, a marina, and a delightful mini golf course.

In proximity to three golf courses, the Chesapeake Wine Trail, and the Oyster Trail.

15 minutes to Bethpage, one of America's leading campsites.

1 hour to Williamsburg and Busch Gardens. 1.5 hours to Richmond and Richmond International.

As pet parents, we understand that it is important to be close by to your pets when you travel. We recommend two kennels in the area - Dobe Run, a 20 minute drive (for short term stays), and Sandy Creek Pet Resort, a 35 minute drive.

During COVID-19 quarantine, we recommend picking up groceries and supplies at the near by Food Lion in Saluda or Urbanna Market in downtown Urbanna. There are quite a few local restaurants open for take-out and following Virginia by stage guidelines. Middlesex County is mask mandated.
