Birthday Celebration

The host and their staff was phenomenal, location and stay was extraordinary and mesmerising. The villas were beautiful well capped and the scenery was to die for; did not want to leave the Villa or the island.Have recommended the villas the host to friends and family and give the host the staff and the location of the villa five stars plus and would recommend it highly to anybody who is wanting to get away relax and enjoy this self in the Son in a beautiful location in a beautiful place with kind and helping Host and staff.

Really nice but not the villa shown in the pictures

The villa was lovely and spacious. It's location was great for those who want to be away from the tourist crowds (and we did). Maro and Eva were wonderful and we had a delicious lunch at Maro's mother's taverna on the way to the villa. However, there are at least three units on the property and we were not placed in the villa that is pictured on HomeAway. This was very disappointing. While our unit was very nice, it was not as private as there were other guests that shared a wall and were only separated by a fence. This is not the impression depicted by the photos and the property description, which were deceiving. We expected to be the only guests on the property and expected to be in the unit that is pictured. If I had realized that this was a multi unit property I would have booked elsewhere, especially considering the rates. I thought I was paying a premium price for privacy and we did not get it here. This is particularly upsetting to me because after I booked but also after the cancellation deadline, I noticed that someone else commented about not being placed in the villa they booked. I sent an message requesting clarification and never got a response to my inquiry regarding whether we would be placed in the villa depicted, while other questions in the same message were answered. This is a shame because it soured me on the entire rental, which otherwise was very positive. I think both the owner and HomeAway have a responsibility to be truthful about the space that is being booked. Here they both failed in that regard.

Absolutely beautiful location - though misrepresented accomodations

Very nice owner, had a well marked map of the island with some great suggestions. Prompt responses when asked questions - overall good experience that way. After reading the reviews, as suggested I inquired before booking about if the unit we would be staying in is the one pictured. I was assured it was. So happily went ahead with the booking, an uncommon splurge given the price but it was going to be worth it for the space and a few days of glorious R & R in such a stunning setting. Getting on the plane envisioning some great BBQing overlooking the sea, on that great outdoor entertaining space and dining area. Relaxing by the pool, listening to the waves. All the more important to us, after my mother unfortunately broke her wrist in another country and underwent a surgery prior to coming to Santorini, but wanted to continue with the trip. It was a surprise to find 3 attached units (from previous reviews knew there was more than one unit on the premises but not knowing attached) - duplex style with a shared privacy wall between the balconies. No problem, still envisioning that great large deck and relax time. Get into our unit to find we are in the smallest of the 3 units and the glorious space we had been dreaming of (and splurged for) was in the largest unit at the top. Tantelizingly in our view at all times. But what are you going to do? You're already there, you've already spent a lot of money and you're not going to get a refund. Still an absolutely beautiful location, well kept space with housekeeper who is absolutely lovely. Just be aware you may not be getting the unit you're spending so much money for and your neighbours on the top balcony may be watching you sunbathe depending on which location of the deck you're on.

Superbe maison

Superbe maison très bien placée au pied d une plage volcanique accessible facilement un escalier. Magnifiques lever de soleil. A seulement 10 min de l aéroport et à 10/15 min en voiture de tout les plus beaux villages de Santorin. Très gentils hôtes, le ménage est fait tout les jours par Maria très gentille qui amène le petit déjeuner à disposition fait de fruits locaux yaourt œufs fromages jambon. Céréales jus de fruits. Bon WiFi. Climatisation. Piscine d'eau douce tres bien entretenue et rafraîchissante. On a passé 15 j extraordinaire pour en même temps se reposer et visiter l île !

Nice villa but we paid for a bigger one and got downgraded without any refund

Initial communication was great so we asked for, booked and paid for a specific villa (owner has 3 villas) four months in advance. After 10 days trying to get confirmation and several communication attempts (I even had to ask a greek friend to call) they confirmed that they had double booked us and offered the "Abelomilos Luxury by the Sea" villa as compensation. We have written proof of this. Unfortunately when we arrived, we discovered that the host had downgraded us to the "Abelomilos Infinity Blue" villa, which we had SPECIFICALLY said we did not want when booking (various reasons: much smaller, no living room, second bedroom with window to the kitchen, etc). We immediately complained to our host and asked to be moved to the villa that we had agreed. Because she had not prepared the villa that we had booked, we stayed that night in the small villa and asked to be moved the next morning. We then learned the reason she put us in the small villa is because she double booked us (again!) and had people staying in the agreed villa, so we were allowed to spend 2 days there but had move back to the small one for the last day! After seeing both villas, it was was abundantly clear that we were being considerably downgraded, even though the host tried to convince us that the villas were comparable and almost the same (she also was adamant that they were almost the same price, which is of course not true). The small villa is exactly half the size of the villa she offered as compensation, which combined with her continued attempts to make them sound similar, made the differences even more striking. It is not only the internal size of the villas but also the size of the outdoor dining and pool areas, as well as the views from the bedrooms. They were all considerably better in the other two villas (the one that we paid for and the one offered as compensation). Reading reviews on the villas both on HomeAway as well as others (do your research online), the host seems to have double booked people in several occasions and change the villas randomly which we find unacceptable, especially when we were very clear about our booking and when we paid the full price four months in advance. Please let us be clear on something. The host was lovely and helpful when we were there and tried her best to make us feel welcome. She even gave us a bottle of wine for our troubles. Still, none of this compensates for the massive downgrade we were forced to accept.

Marvelous place. Gorgeous experience

The place is even nicer than what the pictures show. The villa was clean and everything worked perfectly. Maro was an amazing host. Noy only she packed the refrigerator with three days worth of breakfast groceries, but she gave the most trustworthy and valuable advise in terms of restaurants and touristic tips.

Lovely stay with the perfect host

Abelomilos Villa was the perfect place for my family of 5. Maro was an incredible host, with excellent communication, great suggestions, and top notch hospitality. We loved being such a short distance to all the major island attractions, but removed enough to fully recharge and take in the beautiful views. I highly recommend staying here!

Beautiful!

The views from the house are absolutely stunning! Swimming in the pool every morning was fantastic! We didn't stay in the main house in the photos, we stayed in the house below and it was beautiful! Maro is lovely and so accomodating! We are from her mother's restaurant several times as the food was delicious!!! Definitely the best stay!!!! ❤️

Great house and good location for relaxation

It was a great location if you rented a car. Located in a main road that connects Oia and Thira and the rest of the beaches. The price was a little too high for the property (at least what we payed in early august, high season). It was very quiet and having the pool was a big plus. You were able to really relax with the view and the sound of the waves, and then go into the crazy caldera, Oia area. Maro was very accommodating and waited for us with some basic foods so we didn't need to go shopping right away, with 2 small children, this was very good!!! She was very responsive and helpful with suggestions and places to go. I recommend this house for families of not more than 5. The kitchen and the living area is very tight, the good thing is that in Greece the weather invites you to be outside in the terrace and grill area a lot. We didn't have a single meal inside! It's also perfect for 2 couples traveling together.

beautiful Villa, very courteous host

The villa is amazing - comfortable, a sea view wherever you look, tastefully interior. Maro is an extraordinary courteous host - she answered any question immediately and gave a useful tips where to go. We had some great days on Santorin.
