Velkommen til Black Fox Lodge! Denne maleriske hytte i skoven har 2 soveværelser og sover op til 6 gæster. Perfekt hjem til små familier eller grupper. Hjemmet har to soveværelser, det ene med en queensize-seng og det andet med køjeseng, der har queensize-senge. Hænge ud i stuen og binge se dit yndlings-tv-show, mens du hygger dig ved pejsen. Stuen har også en futon, der konverteres til en queensize-seng. Stort dæk med smuk udsigt over træet og udeservering sæt giver dig mulighed for at nyde et måltid med udsigt. Køkkenet er fuldt udstyret med alt det nødvendige for at fremstille et stjernemåltid til din gruppe. Hjemmet er lidt over en halv kilometer væk fra byens udkant og lidt over en kilometer væk fra byens centrum. Hjemmet er også gåafstand til Strawberry Creek.

They advertise something that they are not ranking out.The microwave didn't work.There was no hot water and the bathroom heater didn't work.The deck is ready to cave in and I will be loading up pictures to prevent everything right now

Older home, Hard to stay warm

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Second night the main heater was out and I could not figure out how to start it again. It was a cold night and was in the mid 40's all night. Even with the main heater on, I still needed the bedroom heater. House must not be insulated well as it is hard to stay warm on cold nights.

Foxtail Cabin

The cabin was extremely hot when we arrived. 96degrees, with fans on and some windows open. We found not all windows could be open. On a previous review about how hot the cabin was the property manager indicated there were floor fans provided because of no AC. There were 2 ceiling fans one in the living room and one in a bedroom and a box fan in the one bedroom that the window did not open. The cabin is in need of outside painting and the deck and railing are very rough in need of a good sanding. Lots of potential for splinters. We found the property wasn’t a good spot for our grandson to adventure, there was broken chairs and other stuff laying around. The pictures of the outside are very old. We did have a good stay once we were able to get the cabin to cool down. We didn’t use the spa or table top BBQ. The carpet didn’t seem to have been vacuumed in some time, lots of little sticks and crushed leaves in the carpet. Walking barefoot inside was uncomfortable. The refrigerator and freezer worked great as well as the stove. The only meal would could eat in the kitchen nook was breakfast, as that was the only time it was cool enough to eat in there. We might stay again, but it would be during the fall or early spring.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is an older cabin with numerous upgrades. It's convenient to Idyllwild's downtown, about two miles away. I have stayed there twice and find it to be a good value at around $100 per night, give or take. The bedrooms are small, but the living area is pretty big. The dirt driveway might be a challenge for some in wet or snow. We also enjoyed $2 Taco Thursday at La Casita.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Rented the cabin for a week. Very peaceful and quiet neighborhood. Cabin was very comfortable on the inside. The outside deck it’s little rough and needs to be treated with something soon or it is going to become a potential safety hazard in the near future. It was in the high 60s for the day time highs when I was there so it was comfortable in the cabin during the afternoon. With no AC and only ceiling fans it will probably get a little uncomfortable on a hot summer day. Overall, New Spirit staff were nice and helpful and I will certainly consider staying at one of their properties in the future, but I would probably not rent the Black Fox cabin during the hot summer months if I was going to be spending much time there during the afternoon and early evening.

Great Location

This is a great older house. Even though it’s not fenced in there’s so much area & land for the dogs. Definitely would stay here again.

Roughing it

So we started out I had two places on the screen two different screens one was in idyllwild one was in big Bear I accidentally reserved the Idlewild when I found out it was my wife did she called it was probably like a half hour after I reserved it they said they couldn't cancel it they couldn't give us a refund. when we were looking for a place we were looking for a place that we could bring our two dogs they're small under 20 lb, so we did pay the pet fee with the VRBO and all the other little fees. Check-in is at an office in Idlewild not at the house usually they'll have a pin code pad you can get in with. There was a lady in front of me that was having a discussion with the lady behind the counter about already paying the pet deposit but the lady behind the counter kept saying no she didn't and she goes yes I did on the site it says pet deposit paid she charged her anyway she said she would look into it but she took the ladies money anyway because what is she going to do go back down the hill no. I get up to the counter she's asking me these questions and then she goes how many pets do you have and I said two she goes oh we only charge you for one of course it was $70 for one pet I guess now not a pet fee so she paid charged me another $30 because what am I going to do go back down the mountain no. I told the lady she has the upper hand she could charge me whatever I'm not going to pack my family up and go back down the hill and lose all the money that we already got charged for the place so it's kind of like a free for all. the company's name is new spirit vacation homes cabins and resort properties, I will not be participating in business with these guys again. This is too long already the place was really run down the furnace didn't work it was below freezing I did leave some firewood there so I burned a fire till 2:00 till I got too tired they did give us a late check out because of the furnace which was nice I appreciated that that's why I gave the three stars on some of them.

An absolute failure!

We arrived at the cabin to find no heat. We contacted the property manager who sent over maintenance staff. They told us the furnace was old and worked sporadically. They got it going but it shut off again and couldn't be restarted. The portable heaters drew too much on the circuit so the breakers would continually blow. By the way, the circuit breaker was housed in a open box that was completely exposed tothe elements. Each morning we woke to temperature in the cabin in the 40s. After another conversation over text about the heat, we were told our best bet was to keep the fireplace going. Hard to do in the middle of the night. Next we found the oven didn't work. A problem for a family holiday dinner. The maintenance folks came out again and figured out how we had to slowly ramp up the temp to keep our running. And to top that all off, we discovered what appeared to be bedbugs. When we brought this to the attention of the property manager, we were told that they weren't bedbugs because they don't live at elevation. This is completely false! We have the bites to prove it. All of our luggage and clothes has to be offloaded outside our home and laundered prior to being brought inside to avoid infesting our home. As you can see, the holiday vacation we paid a premium for was an absolute nightmare. This cabin should never have been considered rentable by any standard.

Comfy cabin

Comfortable and cute cabin. I could not get over my fascination with the pocket windows! Comfortable bed, nice deck. Quiet neighborhood.

First, let me say that the staff at New Spirit were wonderful and saved our trip as a home that we had rented from another agency canceled on us same day (Vacasa). The cabin was cozy, well-equipped, very quiet and had a great outdoor area. We unfortunately were there on a very hot weekend so the cabin was very hot in the afternoon, having no AC. But we wanted a simple, cozy cabin with nice surroundings and that's exactly what it was. We had a great weekend.
