Another lovely stay, but house did not feel as ‘fresh’ as on previous occasions. Cobwebs in a few obvious places and those staying in the second and third bedrooms complained of ‘musty-smelling’ bedding. Liquid hand soaps in both toilets were empty. Otherwise, very good and a perfect location.

Beautiful Holiday stay & Location

Absolutely lovely property, everything you need & location is perfect for the beach, pubs, restaurants and the beautiful old village, bus stops & convenience stores. Perfect for families or couples. Myself & my husband thoroughly enjoyed our stay at stoney-downs & would happily book again.

Home from Home

Beautiful cottage in a great location for a family holiday. Short stroll to the beach to it’s plenty of family friendly bars and restaurants. Cottage itself is lovely and comfortable. The superb weather was an extra bonus!

Great place to stay

Fantastic location in a quiet cul de sac. Lovely spacious accommodation. Parking permit was a great added bonus and really useful to have. Plus parking was only a few steps away from the property.

Excellent return visit

Second holiday in this lovely property. Brilliant position in a quiet dead end street, well kitted out, comfy beds and really close to some great pubs and restaurants. Thoroughly recommended!

Another great holiday.

Second time we have stayed here and, again, it didn’t disappoint. Just a lovely house in the middle of the old village. I’ve been regularly visiting the island for over 50 years and this is looking like our ‘go-to’ accommodation!

Simply beautiful holiday cottage!

Beautiful holiday cottage with fabulous decor & a true warm and cosy environment. We loved the location with pubs, shops & restaurants all on the doorstep. We also spent evenings in with the well equipped kitchen making it easy to cook & dine in (although so many good take away options too!). The cottage felt so spacious & the beds SO comfortable. We highly recommend & loved our stay here!

Our forth stay in this cottage! As a family it’s perfect for us. My daughter loves the bedroom with the balcony, we love the quietness of the location and the super kingsize bed! It’s the most comfortable bed i’ve ever slept in! We love how close we are to the shops. The chip shop is almost opposite, alongside the souvenir shops and our favourite people: the donut stall! This year they are even building a small crazy golf. This is so perfect for toddlers. We dine in The Crab as it’s so close and we tire ourselves out with a daily trip down the Chine to get ice cream. We really can’t fault it. Thank you so much for an excellent holiday!

Very comfortable and well equipped property providing a lovely holiday home for all ages..

Exceptionally clean and comfortable property. Good directions to help find the property and helpful information re: local parking. Courteous txt from owner on arrival which was a nice touch. Useful information in the property regarding appliances, and local telephone numbers should we need help with anything. We hope to return soon!

Lovely House in Centre of Village.

A fantastic house in the old village. Clean, well equipped and loads of character. A genuine couple of minutes walk to any of the village pubs and shops, and only a little further for the rest of Shanklin. The cliff tops and lift are nearby and it’s only about 15 minutes walk to the esplanade and beach. I’ve been visiting the island since I was a tot - staying in guest houses, hotels, our own caravan and statics - and this is the nicest place so far. Will definitely book again.

Stunning house, comfortable and well equipped

My family of 4 (includes 2 teenagers) have just returned from a magical week with amazing weather for the end of October, people were still swimming in the sea! The cottage was beautiful, well equipped with very comfortable beds. Shanklin was a great base to explore the whole island. It was absolutely no bother parking in the carpark (2 minutes from the house) and we enjoyed a few films on Netflicks. We will definately be returning as there are more walks and cycle rides we'd love to do and this was a fantastic propertly and the owner was helpful and communicative with all the information we needed.

Great, great, great !

It was our first time on the Isle of Wight as a family of six. And the start in this great cottage was unforgettable. The cottage is just wonderful. The beds, room layout, toilets and bathrooms, space, kitchen facilities everything was perfect. Each room is so cosy and lovingly decorated, you feel right at home and welcome. Everything in the house is super clean. The location is brilliant. Whether with your own car (parking just around the corner) or with public transport. Everything is very easy to reach. Shanklin is a great place, wonderful beach, great gift shops, lovely places to eat and pubs, perfect afternoon tea, we enjoyed it so much. The communication with the landlady is perfect. We will definitely come back and tell you Nicole, thank you so much for everything. It was a very special experience and wonderful holiday for us.

Lovely property in great location. Recommended!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay in this superb cottage right in the heart of Shanklin Old Village. The location really couldn't be better as it is near to a great selection of pubs, restaurants, tea rooms and shops. It is also right opposite a bus stop and near transport links and it is within easy walking distance of the seafront. Nicole the owner was always very prompt in replying and also extremely helpful in every way. The cottage is spacious, well equipped & beautifully decorated; it is obvious that a lot of thought has gone into making visitors as comfortable as possible. There is parking close by and the tourist parking permit is a major boon as it is included in the cost of the cottage and enables you to park in most car parks all over the island. My family has visited the Isle of Wight on many occasions and stayed in numerous cottages in different areas. l have no hesitation in saying that this was without doubt the nicest and is also in the best location we have stayed in and would therefore thoroughly recommend this holiday property. We very much look forward to staying again in the future.

Fabulous holiday

Our family of 6 had a fabulous holiday on the Isle of Wight. The location of the property was perfect for us. It is close to the beach, shops, pubs and restaurants. The car park was so close to the house and the use of the parking permit for the week was a real advantage. The house itself was well equipped and cosy and our communication with Nicole was prompt and friendly. We would definitely consider returning.

Excellent Stay

Great location in Shanklin, parking was in a carpark which was very near but could be busy. Everything you needed was in the cottage to make your stay comfortable and homely. If I was going to be picky the shower could have been more powerful but certainly didn't spoil our enjoyment. Would recommend.
