Steps away from the beautiful Kootenai River; Timber River Guest House.

Timber River Guest House offers gorgeous views of the Kootenai River and the surrounding mountains, plus all the amenities of an upscale hotel, but with more flexibility. Our family friendly accommodations offer three deluxe bedrooms and two bathrooms, which easily sleeps six. For an additional fee, we also offer an additional queen Murphy bed for a maximum occupancy of 8 persons. So whether you are looking for a romantic get-a-way for two, a friends trip or a family vacation, we have something to fit your needs.

This property is not a shared space, although there is a shared main entrance to the owner's second home. If the owner is to be on-site for maintenance purposes during your stay it will be disclosed in advance.

Guest accommodations include a fully stocked kitchen, laundry facilities, and a game room with a 65" TV (Dish Network), pool table, and a large variety of cards and board games. Additionally, guest have access to a riverside gas grill and fire pit.

Located just 7 miles from Libby, Timber River Guest House is centrally located so you can easily enjoy tours and activities at the Libby Dam, disc golf, fly fishing, floating the river, hiking and biking, plus all the amenities and restaurants that Libby has to offer. Floating or kayaking from Timber River to town takes about 2 hours and is a guest favorite, as is eagle watching from our patio. Kootenai Falls and the Swinging Bridge are a short drive away, while golf and downhill/cross country skiing are seasonally available.

Excellent stay on the water!

We were in Libby for our sons wedding and couldnt have been happier with Timber River house. It was perfect. We loved watching the eagle soar and had a blast fishing. It was the best vacation ever.

The guesthouse was perfect for a weekend away together. It was very clean and very welcoming with lots of fun touches that made it unique. We cooked meals out on the patio and spent a lot of time enjoying the peaceful river view. Five stars on the house and the setting!!

Wonderful Tiber River Country Get a way!

Beautiful property. One of the best appointed properties I’ve rented. From the wonderful linens to the pool table to the gas grill to the efficient kitchen to the corn hole game riverside, it had everything! Super clean and the host was so gracious.

Sister’s retreat

Although it was cooler than expected, we had a wonderful time together. The game room seating was great and the kitchen flowed well with multiple people cooking together. The beds were very comfortable.

Cute riverside retreat

We had a fantastic time at the Timber River Guest House. This house is so comfortable - from the furniture to the beds. We enjoyed playing pool in the evenings with our kids. Great communication from the owner. We would absolutely stay here again!!!!

Amazing!!

We travel a lot for work and stay in a lot of VRBOs. This was hands down the best!! Perfect distance from town, amazing beds, perfectly outfitted, gorgeous, so inviting and comfortable we could have stayed forever! Felt like a resort!

Our Favorite Place

This is our second time staying here. It is absolutely gorgeous, right on the river, decorated perfect and has everything you could ever imagine or need. Linda gave us great advice on where to rent a raft and we had a great time. We will be back for sure.

Beautiful riverfront stay!

We loved staying here for our recent trip to Libby to visit friends and family. The Kootenai river never disappoints in its beauty! This property was perfect for enjoying morning coffee and evening wine on the patio and watching the bald eagles flying and nesting along the river bank. Everyone enjoyed our stay. Thanks so much!

Our primary residence is in North Idaho, and we have owned and operated a lawn maintenance and landscaping company since 1997. We purchased the house in Libby as a future "retirement home", but that is still some years away, so until then we wanted to share the house with guests and hope they love it as much as we do. We chose Libby because it is David's home town and we both love the area. In addition to David being a Libby High School graduate, we were married in Libby nearly 35 years ago, so we have deep ties to the community and could think of no better place to eventually retire. We have really enjoyed remodeling the house and showcasing the rich local history for all our guest to enjoy.

Because this is my hometown, I was married here almost 35 years ago, and I wanted to invest in the community while showcasing the many outdoor opportunities along with the local mining and logging history.

Timber River Guest House is located just steps from the beautiful Kootenai River, and boasts concrete steps that lead directly to the water and Blue Ribbon Fly Fishing opportunities. Our accommodations are second to none in our area, and we offer a boutique experience to all our guests.

We also connect our guests to the history of Libby by offering a selfie station that features three of the original builders of the Libby Dam (located just 10 miles upstream), and a true family connection. David's dad is one of the three men in the wall sized picture, and we are proud of his contribution to the Corps of Engineers and the creation of Libby Dam. Kids (and adults) will enjoy dressing up in the actual hard-hat and boots from the photo and literally stepping into history with this unique feature.
