This Country Cottage is situated in a quiet and beautiful wooded area southeast of downtown Kansas City. It is on one level, has key-less access and private parking. It has 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and a sofa sleeper in the living area to comfortably sleep 6. Guests will enjoy a full, well-equipped kitchen, laundry room, and outdoor living space. With an open layout it has a spacious and welcoming feel. The large master bedroom has a king-size bed, 2 closets, and master bath with a shower and jetted tub, as well as 2 sinks. The second bedroom has a queen-size bed, a desk and closet, and access to the second bathroom, which has a shower. There is also access to the second bathroom from the hall. Both bathrooms are large and have large counters and mirrors and lots of storage.

The Cottage is separated from the residence of the owners by a 3-car garage. There are no additional homes on the property.

This was a beautiful peaceful getaway cottage. Our gracious host did things to make our stay special and unique to us. The rooms are huge and kitchen perfect. There is a jetted tub even. I would love to come back to this property. The whole house was a dream. Thank you for allowing us to experience this property. Best hosts I've ever rented with.

Wonderful home! Peaceful and quiet! The hosts were fantastic. We had some Murphy s law things. Power outage caused by a squirrel. A few other very minor things. We reached out to our host, they were very prompt with response. They were so very friendly and kind! Would definitely recommend them and their beautiful home!

This property is the perfect combination of country and city. The location is secluded and peaceful, but is within a short drive of many restaurants and shops! The hosts are so nice, and the house is extremely comfortable and charming. It was the perfect stay and we will definitely be back.

We had a great time at the country cottage. Place was clean and really cute, kitchen had all the supplies we needed, beds are comfortable, plenty of linens, so quiet and peaceful. We will definitely plan to stay there again the next time we’re in the area. We would highly recommend this country cottage!

We enjoyed our stay so much at this pretty cottage. Cozy yet very roomy, extremely clean, and decorated nicely. Well appointed with all the comforts of home away from home. The outside was very tidy and picturesque, a light breeze through the many trees with abundant birdsong. Located in a private setting close to attractions. A wonderful place to just be.

The property was exactly what we were looking for: beautiful, well furnished, good communication with our hosts, and close to several biking trails. The rooms were as listed with large bedrooms and bathrooms. The bedding was the best we have had as it was very soft and unscented. It was very easy to have a good night's sleep!We would definitely come back for another stay if in the area.

Unfortunately, our experience was not as positive. Cleaning in preparation for our next guests took several hours longer than is typical, including cleaning up a puddle of grease in the bottom of the oven, which also made the entire property smell bad, but did explain why the kitchen window was left open for hours while they were gone. It was in 50s outside and I assume the furnace was running. It doesn’t explain why all the lights and the TV were left on during said time (many hours while no one was there). But the worst part was driving a vehicle onto our lawn to deliver and pick up a smoker (or grill). No one asked permission to do this. I could make a longer, more detailed list but I’ll stop here. I wish this had been a better experience. We are positive people and like to give good reviews.

We absolutely loved our stay at this country cottage in Grain Valley! It’s a beautiful, very comfortable two-bedroom, two-bathroom cottage with a living room, dining area, full kitchen, and laundry room. The country décor is adorable and adds so much charm. The cottage had everything we needed for a week-long stay (well beyond the basics you often find in vacation rentals) making it easy and comfortable to truly live there. The cottage is surrounded by nature while still being close to restaurants, grocery stores, shopping, and things to do. The driveway can be a little intimidating the first time you come in, but once you’ve done it once, it’s very easy. The Goodmans are excellent hosts. They are incredibly attentive, helpful, and courteous without being intrusive. They keep up with mowing and watering and are very considerate about communication when accessing the patio. We really appreciated their thoughtfulness. One of the biggest compliments is how safe and comfortable we felt, more than any other stay outside our home, which meant so much with small children. I was also very appreciative they allowed us to extend checkout when our little one wasn’t feeling well. Having a quiet, comfortable place for her to rest before flying home made a difficult travel day much easier, and their kindness went above and beyond. We truly enjoyed our time here and would absolutely stay again!

Stunning in-law suite cottage. Very spacious and cared for. It’s truly telling how much the owners care for their property and each guest. Nice and remote but not far from civilization. I live nearby and will be recommending this place to our out of town guests.

Guests were easy to communicate with and followed special instructions well (they needed additional parking). In general things were left in good shape, although the kitchen floor and counter were very messy. We were perplexed as to why the thermostat was set at 62 degrees when it was in the low to mid 70s outside. We would rent to them again.

We have lived on this property (50 acres) since 1983. There are two homes here, connected by a 3-car garage. We raised 5 children here and still love living in the country even though we have been empty-nesters for several years. The Cottage portion was home for Gordon's parents for many years. We decided it would make a perfect vacation rental because of the privacy and beauty of the home and property. We did a lot of updating before opening up for guests and have continued to replace and refresh along the way.

This Country Cottage is a lovely and comfortable home with all the comforts you may want as you relax and unwind. The setting is beautiful and very private. We are out in the country, but not too far out! Grocery stores, shopping, movie theaters, and restaurants are within a short drive.

Please note that we have a strict no smoking policy, inside and out. Thank you!

We recognize that some guests travel with a service animal. We do the cleaning and upkeep between guests and, unfortunately, I am allergic to cats and to dogs that are not hypoallergenic. Please keep this in mind as you decide where to book. Again, thank you!

Here you will find a beautiful setting and view. You are very likely to see wildlife and will be surrounded by nature. The home is comfortable, inviting and very livable. It is furnished in eclectic farmhouse style. Some things are new, new-to-us, old and very old. It all comes together in a wonderfully cozy way. The wrap-around porch offers peaceful outdoor space. It features a porch swing, sitting area with wicker furniture and an area off the kitchen/dining area for outdoor dining or playing games.

The home cannot be seen from the road and has a 1/4 mile gravel driveway. Part of the driveway is a hill which may seem a little intimidating the first time. Just get some momentum and keep coming! Stay to the left as the drive curves to the right at the top of the hill. You will then see This Country Cottage! For easy access, the keypad will be programmed with the last four digits of the telephone number you provided when booking.

Please let us know if you will be arriving after dark and we will leave the porch lights on.
