We didn’t stay. Smoke filled hallway entry, dirty kitchen, dirty rugs, parking would not fit our big SUV even when asked if it would and was assured it would. Parking was not marked as described.

While there is a sign stating no smoking is allowed anywhere inside the building, we apologize for the disappointment you experienced with the hallway. The parking area in the back of the building is standard-sized and can accommodate an SUV when parked properly. We maintain a clean apartment in the city and will continue to work with Evolve to ensure our high standards are met for all future guests.

The property was very clean, updated, and beautifully decorated. The owner was very helpful and responded quickly to questions. The bus stop is right around corner. This is a great place to stay in the city.

The space was nice--a decently-sized living room and kitchen area with 2 bedrooms on opposite sides and a good-sized bathroom and shower. We stayed only one night, on a Friday night in late May.We had no issue with parking. The space provided in the back would have fit our mid-size crossover, but since the entrance is around the front, we parked on the street to unload more easily. Arriving in the afternoon, we had no problem finding street parking out front, but it did fill up later that night.We did find a few spots that cleaners may have missed. We alerted the host who said he'd address it with the cleaners so hopefully that will improve in the future.Our family was simply looking for a place to stay overnight after visiting the National Zoo that day and then driving back home the next day, and this space worked for us just fine, as we simply stayed in the whole night and even ordered food in. However, had we wanted to explore the area, I would not have felt safe doing so. There were a lot of people loitering out front and in the street and talking loudly late into the night. I would not have felt safe walking to a store nearby, but we felt safe inside and our car was fine. Again, if you're just looking for somewhere to stay at night, it's fine, but the area leaves something to be desired (in my opinion). The neighbors who were outside during the day when we checked in were friendly and welcoming.

Super

The apartment was very nice and clean; it was perfect for three people. It had a modern look and upgraded interior with newer appliances. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms had large closets with plenty of space. There is a large kitchen with ample cooking and counter space with a large sink. I highly recommend staying here because the apartment was very comfortable and clean, and the owner was very kind and responsive to any questions we had.

Loved it !

We booked this clean Property for four nights. The apartment was exactly as it was shown in the pictures. Nice clean in the quiet Neighbourhood. I’m not so much sure about the Neighborhood, but it was very accessible to a grocery store. The owner was very responsive and accommodated us for early check-in.

Stay

Very clean property. Communication was perfect. We ran out of laundry soap and hand soap the owner got everything that day. Very attentive and kind. The place was pet friendly and comfortable. This was perfect for our pet and our family. The only thing I will say is Trinidad neighborhood was mostly safe but I wouldn’t be on the streets past dark.

Absolutely LOVED our stay. When you look at the outside pictures on Google maps it can look a little sketchy but the area is clearly going through gentrification. Every single neighbor we met was kind and friendly. I couldn't find parking behind the building (unless it was on the grass) but I was able to park in front and since the location is right next to a bus stop I didn't have to move my car the entire time we were there. SUCH a convenient location without being dead in the middle of congestion. I will say grocery shopping in DC is an experience and there isnt one super close so I decided Door Dashing my groceries was easier. There is a Farmers Market on Sunday morning just a quick walk down the street where I found wonderful baked products and artists jewelry. The apartment itself is very nice and clean!! Well equipped as well. If anything I would say the pictures do not do it justice. We came to DC for my daughters 22 birthday and her gasp when we walked in was well worth it. Thank you! If you ever want a long term tenant she is ready to move there. :)

I cant reccomend anyone stay here. I wont be coming back to this location. The area this place is is not safe. Its close to a bus station tk get downtown but ubering everywhere was a must because of the neighborhood. The last day i decided to take the bus thats a block away to the airport. I was almost assulted by someone who was screaming racist profanities at me. The entire stay the toilet didnt work properly, you have to move the plunger inside the bowl everytime or it doesnt flush. I saw this was in other reviews but nothing was ever done. The internet was out for a day and a half, a third of our stay. It got fixed but the tv runs on internet, so no internet and no tv. There was still hair all over the shower. I guess the good thing was the bed was comfortable. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.

Graduation stay

I chose this place because it wasn't far from Howard University, where I was graduating from. Check-in process was flawless and I was able to check-in early. The 1st night I had an allergic reaction because the place was not properly cleaned to remove pet hair that was left by the previous person I assume. I had to sleep on the couch in the livingroom because pet hair was all over the beds in the bedrooms. I also an issue with the internet as it didnt quite reach the first bedroom where I had initially was staying. I only spent 1 night sleeping in the bedroom due the pet hair out of my 3 nights/ 4 days. There was also an issue with the toilet during my stay, where had to constantly lift the handle inside the toilet to get it to fill up so I could actually flush the toilet. Lastly, there were small bugs in the tub. Overall, it's a nice place that needs a thorough cleaning.

Overall it was good. Seems to be a fairly new rental, and I do have a couple recommendations for the host. Check in and accessibility were great, and exactly as described. The place was true to the photos and comfortable. Cleanliness was moderate...there were several bunches of hair stuck on the shower wall, and the outside of the white kitchen cabinets showed some food stains and grunge, but everything else was fine. The listing notes a sleeper sofa, but this was not the case. The couch was not a pull out, and our 5th guest ended up buying an air mattress for the floor. The kitchen was somewhat stocked, but very sparsely. Only 4 dinner plates, and the drinking glasses consisted of only wine glasses. 3 with stems, and 3 without. We were a party of 5, but made due. 4 small coffee cups were also available. There was a large assortment of cookware for the stove, and a toaster oven, but no pot holders to be found. Used a dish towel to take the hot tray out of the toaster oven. Adding pot holders and aluminum foil to the kitchen would be ideal. The adjustable AC unit worked great and kept the place very cool. Also seems to be well insulated, as we didn't get too much street or neighbor noise. The neighborhood itself seems a little sketch, with a fair amount of boarded up / empty buildings, but we didn't have any issues or see people hanging around the street. We had a rental car and were able to park on street every day without issue. Only a few miles from all the memorials we were there to see... 15 to 20 min drive with traffic to the parking garage on 14th St / Constituton Ave, so the location was ideal. There is also a metro bus stop at the end of the street. All in all, I would stay again, but probably with 4 people, max. 5 was a bit of a stretch but still doable. Perfect for a couple.

RATS! DO NOT BOOK!

A rat ran across the kitchen at night a few days into our stay. We contacted the owner and company and were told if we stayed they’d have the place cleaned and pest control would come while we were out. We were out in the city all evening and came back to absolutely nothing done and no contact from the owner. We also saw large cockroaches outside the building entrance and on the sidewalks in the neighborhood during our stay. Overall, the property did not feel properly maintained, and the response to such a serious cleanliness and health issue was unacceptable. We felt so uncomfortable and unsafe that we had to cut our stay short and quickly evacuate the premises. I would not think of staying here again and I absolutely would not recommend it to anyone I cared about.
