Located less than 1 mile from Lake Whitney, this 2000 sq ft 1960’s lakehouse is the perfect destination for your vacation with family or friends. A large shady yard with lake views, and close proximity to boat launch and Walling Bend Park make this a water lovers paradise.

The lakehouse has plenty of space for a family or group of friends, with lots of activities to keep both adults and kids entertained.

Celebrated a birthday with Family the entire weekend. This place was very nice. Compared to other places we’ve stayed in the area. The pet friendliness was definitely a plus. Not to mention the host was very attentive, and had a nice gift she baked for us. Would definitely recommend to anyone needing close access to the lake and a pet friendly environment.

We had a blast at J's Place! The house had everything we needed and then some! The yard was large, and the fire pit was a hit for s'mores. There was plenty of parking as we had three vehicles, a boat, and a pair of jet skis. The host was quick to respond to any questions we had. If you're heading to Lake Whitney, this is the place to stay!

J's Place was absolutely amazing! The house was great! There were plenty of places to sleep and the location was super close to the place we like to go and cliff jump at Lake Whitney. The host, Renee, was extremely nice and responsive to any questions we had. We had a group of young adults as well as a couple of infants and the house was suitable for everyone! The beds were comfortable and the open concept of the kitchen allowed us to be able to cook for everyone but still be in the middle of all the fun! The ease of checking in and out and the location of the house makes this a prime place to stay! I would recommend this house to any of my friends and our family will definitely be back!

Family Getaway

What a great getaway this property is. It's spacious and allowed us plenty of room to gather, cook, sleep and socialize. The property owners were very welcoming and responsive to our questions and needs. We will definitely be back!

Fabulous for family time

This home has everything once can need for a family getaway…stacked with indoor options plus outdoor fun like gorgeous back yard and the lake close by. Plus very hospitable hosts makes the experience top notch. They added an extra touch by saying hello, baking treats for the whole family and our beloved dog! The home is cozy, clean and cabin like.. Amazing Getaway Location!

J’s Place was a great getaway location for my boy and his teenage friends. They had so much fun from playing indoors to backyard games and to swimming and cliff jumping. The hosts were super helpful, they helped the boys to find good spots to swim, with any missing stuff they needed and help setting up the grill outside. They very much enjoyed their stay and made many wonderful memories.

Nice place!

Four old friends from high school met at the house. Great accommodations with lots of extras like the pool table, outdoor games, and a fire pit. Easy access to lake although we didn’t make it over there. It rained most of our time together but we didn’t care!

Wonderful stay!!

Our family had a great time staying at J’s Place. The kind hosts paid attention to every detail in making the home comfortable for their guests. The children and small pups loved the big backyard and tree swing while the adults enjoyed the spacious home to gather and visit. And the ping pong table was loved by all! The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were clean. We enjoyed being so close to Walling Bend Park to get on the boat we rented from Whitney Ridge. I highly recommend this rental for Lake Whitney fun.

Weekend stay

Well it rained... and rained.... and rained some more, however the stay was great, large enough to accommodate all of us, we maxxed this home out, we had huge plans for fishing, however the trip turned into a stay at home vacation, there was plenty of games and activities to keep all of us busy. Only one thing could have made it better. Information on us to pop fireworks.... we would have totally brought some but with the proximity of parks we werent positive about it. Though we all had fun and enjoyed the great house.

Great Place for our family gathering!

We were here to view the eclipse, and had a wonderful backyard view! The large kitchen and family room worked very well for us to gather together. The pool table was put to use often. The neighborhood was quiet. A short walk took us to the lake shore,and a short drive took us to a boat launch. Thank you, Renee, for being such a nice host! A special thanks for the eclipse ornament!

Wonderful Stay

J's Place was even more than expected. The pictures do not do it justice! There were so many "cute" touches that were inside the house. We were having a huge family in the area & we couldn't have picked a better spot than J's Place. From the selection of games, dvd's & the ping pong table everything was perfect. The bunk room with video games was the favorite spot for the kids in the evening. We are looking forward to staying here again next year. OH and the homemade brownies that were left were spectacular!! thank you for hosting our family.

We loved our stay at J’s place! We noticed and appreciated the cleanliness of the property as soon as we arrived. Lots of thought was put into making our stay comfortable. They had extra blankets, travel sized soap, shampoo, toothpaste, etc. in all three bathrooms, and lots of towels. Kitchen was well stocked with dishes, pans, coffee pot, and utensils. The house is perfect for groups. We were only a group of 8, but there was plenty of space for more. Although we did not have any issues, the host was VERY quick to respond to any questions we had. The home is setup with plenty of entertainment for all ages. The indoor ping pong table was a huge hit for our group! They had a great outdoor space set up for hanging out as well. Outside the back gate was the perfect road for walking and led you right to the lake. We were very pleasantly surprised with the amount of wildlife we saw too! You will not regret booking this property!

Gorgeous View Lake property

Would recommend! This place is awesome! It was very very spacious and clean. Perfect for families. So much wildlife, the deer even come right up to the back fence every day. Convenient to the lake, and has the perfect area for walking with gorgeous views. Year round property. Only 2 mins from boat dock, or to the swim area. Owners are very nice, and provided a lot of extras. They were also fast at responding to any questions. Would definetly stay here again. Backyard is spacious and great to unwind, swing in the tree swing, play ball, or roast smores by the firepit.

Family Getaway

We just had a lovely family weekend at J's Place on Lake Whitney! Here's the truth - we're in the middle of a pandemic & just needed to get out of the metroplex and have some quality family time. The house accommodated our family of 7 adults and 1 baby very comfortably. Everything we needed was there. The owners made sure everything was clean and safe for their guests. The yard is absolutely beautiful - large, fully fenced and shaded. Lots of yard games were provided. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful. The owners responded to every correspondence quickly and are very helpful and friendly! I highly recommend J's Place as a great vacation rental!

Facilities were nice, well-maintained.

Check it was extremely poor. The door code never was sent. Multiple messages a day before were sent through VRBO to get the code to no avail. VRBO was contacted for the code (they did not have it). They were going to find an alternate location for a party of 11 to stay due to the very poor communication. In the end, we did get in and all was fine, but check in communication for all, especially the paying party should be very prompt and clear throughout the entire process. The owner did not respond until the day after check in (we were just lucky that the owners lived next to the property). So, VERY POOR check in experience.

Js place was perfect for our two fur babies. The yard is huge beautiful and completely fenced in. Reba and Rip were able to have a safe fun stay while we played several of the provided outdoor games with our grandson. We came for a baseball tournament at the newly opened Parsons Sports ranch which was only about a 10 minute drive from Js place

We really enjoyed our stay.

The only problem we had was the back steps to the patio. We are elderly and there was no hand rail and steep steps.

J's Place was wonderful! Clean and has everything you need for a comfortable stay! Lake Whitney was a couple of minutes away! Communication and responsiveness with owner was great. We definitely enjoyed our stay!

Great place to unwind and have fun with family!

We had a great time at this property. We spent few days with our extended family. Property is well maintained, the owners were very friendly and super responsive for any needs. Great backyard with lot of yard games to keep your family and kids entertained. Great morning walk to see the sunrise from Walling bend park which is right behind the property. Overall great place to unwind and have peaceful family time .

Hello! We are Pat & Renee.

We've been visiting Lake Whitney for over 30 years. Our four children grew up going on the water almost every weekend, and have continued to enjoy lake life as adults. After living in Wisconsin, Georgia and North Texas, we've decided to retire and open our first AirBnB here on Lake Whitney. We're avid water lovers who love fishing, boating and animals.

Besides going on the water, we love cheering on our hometown teams (Pat cheering on his Green Bay Packers and Renee rooting for her Dallas Cowboys).

We can't wait to host you and your loved ones!
