Located less than a block from the ocean in gated Kiwanda Shores, the newly remodeled Blue Heron is the perfect beach house for everyone. The large garage was converted into a bonus room, ideal for the kids or the kids at heart. Enjoy the classic arcade machine and large TV! After a day of riding the waves and playing in the surf, the built-in wet bar and the grill provide the perfect stop to for all your fixes before you rinse off in the outdoor shower and soak in the hot tub. Head up to the gorgeous, updated main level, where you will be in heaven in front of the fireplace and large TV in the living room, or step onto the covered porch for the perfect cup of coffee and the sounds of the sea. The kitchen is a cook's dream with all new kitchen items and a huge island looking into the dining and living rooms. Blue Heron truly prioritizes relaxation as all three bedrooms are on the third level. The primary suite highlights a king bed and ocean view with a full bathroom. The second bedroom has a queen bed with a telescope to watch the whales, and the third bedroom has a king bed with a large TV. Great updated beach house. We lived the updated kitchen - Well stocked and spacious! Plenty of seating in the dining/living area.

We enjoyed our recent stay at this property (family of five: 2 parents and 3 teen/young adult children). Everything was clean and the kitchen was well-stocked with everything necessary to prep and cook meals. The management company was incredibly responsive, and communicated via email as well as text. When the smoke alarm started chirping, indicating it needed batteries, maintenance was out in a few hours. Our only disappointment was that the hot tub wasn't working - which was one of the main reasons we booked this specific property. The management had alerted us the day before we arrived, but I didn't see the email. The bonus room was clearly a new addition - there wasn't much of a description when we booked this location six months ago, so it was more of a pleasant surprise. The additional bunk beds in the adjoining alcove would be great for families with children. The guest portal provided by the property management company was easy to use, though I had some some initial confusion over paying them directly vs paying VRBO - something both VRBO and the management company were very kind and patient about clarifying. One member of our party rented a place across the street with beach access, so we accessed the beach that way; if we had not had that connection, I'm not entirely sure how/where we could have accessed the beach, so I can't speak to ease of public beach access from this property.We would absolutely stay here again and recommend it to others!

The location of the house was amazing! Just steps away from the beach. Bars and restaurants were well within walking distance. Unfortunately the hot tub wasn't working and it was unable to be fixed before/during the stay. Only a small refund was offered for a main amenity not being available. The rooms were cozy and all had wonderful views!
