Welcome to Heron’s Landing. This newly renovated family retreat is located on a quiet bay on the Severn River in beautiful Muskoka, close to Gravenhurst. This lakefront cottage is perfect for family getaways with a main cottage with 2 bedrooms and a full bathroom, and a bunkhouse with another bedroom and full bathroom. Enjoy the large dock and clear swimming area, spacious deck with gazebo, fire pit, brand new kitchen with a large island, bbq, and high speed WiFi.

This property has a newly renovated main cottage and bunkhouse. The main cottage has an open concept fully-equipped kitchen with a large island that seats up to 8 people, 2 double bedrooms, and a brand new full bathroom. The family room has plenty of comfortable seating and a gas fireplace perfect for cozying up to watch a movie or the big game. The beautiful lake can be seen from anywhere in the cottage.

The bunkhouse has an upstairs loft with 2 double beds that comfortably sleeps 4, a brand new full bathroom, and a lounge area/kids hangout zone with a smart TV.

The cottage has a large dock that juts out onto the quiet, serene bay. There is a clear (weedless) swimming area at the end of the dock. The dock has a ladder for easy access to the water.

The entire cottage is equipped with high speed wifi (Starlink), perfect for teleworking or staying connected while on vacation. Kayaks, a canoe, paddles, and lifejackets are available to enjoy Muskoka on the water. There is ample parking for 4 cars on the property.

The cottage is 2 hours north of Toronto (4.5 hrs east of Ottawa) and a short drive to nearby towns for groceries and entertainment. 15 minutes to downtown Gravenhurst, 30 minutes to Orillia and Bracebridge, and 35 minutes to Casino Rama. Torrance Barrens Dark Sky Preserve, local artists, summer markets, musical events, and craft breweries and restaurants are also nearby.

The kitchen is equipped with all new appliances (fridge, stove/oven, microwave, toaster, dishwasher, and beverage fridge) plus all the dishes and cookware needed for your stay. Cook indoors or barbecue on the deck. A coffee maker, coffee, kettle, and tea are provided. A selection of board games, 2 smart TVs, and books are available. Bed linens and blankets for the bedrooms, and bath, beach, and kitchen towels are provided.

Please note that the water is not drinkable. We provide drinking water for your stay.

You can bring your boat if you'd like. There are 2 boat launches nearby and there is room for boat parking alongside the dock.

Our extended family of eight (including 2 teens and a toddler) had a fabulous stay. The cottage and bunkie were beautifully appointed and had everything we needed and even things we didn’t know we needed! We really enjoyed the lake access, and took advantage of the spacious dock, kayaks, paddle board and paddle boat! There were lots of outdoor seating areas as well. We even enjoyed the gazebo for a games night one evening. Ron and Joanne were excellent hosts always available to answer questions.

The cottage and bunkie are fabulous. Everything we could think of was there, and the place was spotless. The decor is beautiful as well. The hosts are very kind and communicative. They know and love the area, and made us feel very welcome and comfortable. There were lots of sitting areas outside and in for everyone to spread out and enjoy themselves. We had a lot of fun kayaking, canoeing and fishing off of the dock. Wonderful cottage vacation.

Joanne and Ron were excellent hosts. They did an amazing job on the renovation down to the smallest detail. The bunkhouse was fantastic and our teenage boys loved it. We brought our boat with us and the floating dock accommodated nicely in the quiet calm cove. When we first arrived we thought our GPS was leading us astray, but once you pull into the driveway and walk down the steps you will be in awe. Thank you to the hosts for sharing this wonderful cottage, we truly enjoyed our stay.

The meandering drive along our cottage road is surrounded by forest and wetlands before finding our driveway. We had the same feeling the first time we drove in many years ago! Everything was seamless! Nothing was forgotten from the heated towel rack in the bathroom to the coffee pods in the cupboard! One tiny suggestion mainly geared to us. In one of the bedrooms I would remove one of the side shelves in order to accommodate queen size bed against the wall. My husband and I aren’t big people and we found a double a little tight so as a result we had to use the bunkie. Thanks for the shout out on how we left the cottage. I believe you should leave it as close as you got….spotless!

Thank you so much! We do try to think of the conveniences of home for our cottage. Our experiences staying in B & B's have given us some ideas that we had to incorporate into our own. The double beds in the cottage bedrooms allow just enough space for guests to comfortably manoeuvre around them. Unfortunately queen beds wouldn't. The Bunkie bedroom space has been used as the parental suite by some of our previous guests. I know that this doesn't work for families with younger children that you'd need to be in the same building. We hope you'll think of us when you are looking for a family vacation spot next year.

What a little slice of heaven! If this cottage doesn’t have it, you probably don’t need it. Everything was clean, well stocked and felt like home away from home! Excellent hosts and top notch accommodations. Our highlights were fishing off the dock and watching the kids catch bass, bluegill and perch, kayaking and canoeing the little cove, and touring the waterway on our fishing boat! If you bring your own boat, make sure to grab lunch at the Waubac, located between Swift Rapids lock and Big Chute! If you want a family friendly place on the Trent Severn Waterway, look no further. Such a beautiful location

Heron’s Landing was a perfect spot for our family vacation. We love to kayak and SUP and this quiet bay is out of the main channel / river traffic. The BEST view of the bay from the dock facing SE you are not blocked by other docks… just stretch your eyes across natural beauty. You are close to other cottages but there are SO many wonderful places to sit and enjoy you hardly notice. The cottage and bunkie were spotless with everything you need to relax and cook up a storm. The bunkie was like a 2nd cottage for teens to chill in. Our host was very responsive and willing to help make our stay perfect. We all enjoyed swimming and jumping off the dock. Not too deep so if you wanted a clear stretch to swim laps, just take the SUP out into the bay. 2 fire pits too! I will miss my hummingbird friends.

Joanne and Ron were wonderful hosts. They were always available, welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed for a fantastic week.The cottage was spotless, beautifully decorated and incredibly well equipped. It truly had every amenity we could have asked for, along with so many thoughtful extras. We brought our own boat and spent most days exploring Sparrow Lake and the Trent-Severn Waterway. There is so much beautiful boating in the area.When we weren’t out on the boat, we enjoyed relaxing on the dock, paddleboarding and taking the pedal boat around the bay. One of the highlights of our stay was all the wildlife. Different families of ducks visited the bay every morning and afternoon, and one morning, a heron stayed with us for more than 20 minutes. Although we brought some of our own water toys, the cottage has everything you need to get out on the water and enjoy the bay.The bunkie was also a wonderful bonus and gave us plenty of additional sleeping space.It was a beautiful place for our family to spend the week. Heron’s Landing exceeded every expectation and is, without question, a 10/10 experience. The cottage is absolutely pristine—beautifully renovated, thoughtfully designed, and incredibly well-appointed. Every detail has been considered, and it truly felt like the hosts anticipated everything a guest could possibly need.The setting on the lake is breathtaking. The dock is stunning, and we spent 90% of our vacation there swimming, relaxing, and taking in the views. It was the highlight of our stay.Ron and Joanne were phenomenal hosts. Their communication was excellent from start to finish, and they were genuinely kind and welcoming. We rented jet skis and an aluminum fishing boat, and Ron went above and beyond by bringing us lake maps and helping us navigate the area, including recommending safe routes for our teenagers to explore. That personal touch made such a difference.We honestly couldn’t have asked for a better cottage or better hosts. If you’re looking for a beautiful, relaxing getaway with exceptional hospitality, Heron’s Landing is it. We can’t wait to come back!

From the moment we began driving down the private cottage road, we felt the tranquility of Muskoka. Passing forested areas, the Canadian shield, wetlands, and eventually the cottage view of our bay on the Severn River, we could hear and see the natural beauty of cottage life. Visitors watch for signs along the way for the highlights. Drive slowly and you may be surprised to see the herons on their nest or a beaver paddling around at dusk.

Derfor er dette overnatningssted unikt

The open living spaces outside and inside make family gatherings so special for us. We love sitting on the dock and watching the boats go by in the distance. Having areas to be together or quiet places to sit and relax on the water or the deck allows you to feel a sense of peace.
