Very private and peaceful Arbutus cottage in Yellow Point.

Spacious modern cottage with full kitchen, loft bedroom. Located in a rural area in Yellow Point, between Nanaimo (20 km north) and Ladysmith (17 km south). Very private and quiet with own driveway and parking. The cottage backs onto a 350 acre ecological reserve. Perfect for a peaceful retreat.

Only 1 km from Roberts Memorial Park and Blue Heron Park (both on the water) and Yellow Point park is only 4 km away.

We include coffee and tea and the ingredients for a free breakfast (eggs, jam, etc) from our hobby farm.

Over 300 books (including collection of Reader's Digest and National Geographic). Lots of old fashioned board games and various types of puzzles.
Telescope for star gazing.

EV charging station (free).
We speak English and French.

Note: We do not allow guests, or visitors, who smoke (no exceptions).

Arbutus cottage is on a lovely property. It is beautifully handcrafted and well appointed cottage ,with many special touches. Denis is a very attentive host! It was a perfect place for our stay as we were travelling with our dog. We will definitely book here again and recommend it to anyone visiting the area!

Was the perfect space for what we needed. Hosts are fabulous with communication and made sure we had everything. Definitely recommend.

Denis was wonderful, the place was asadvertised. It was an extremely thoughtful environment in which attention to detail was paid. His farm next door was a pleasure to visit and meet all the animals.

What a cute well supplied cottage! Very peaceful and cool in the summer. Our dog was in heaven having the run of the place. Denis was very quick to respond to anything! The fresh eggs, tomatoes and breakfast items were a bonus.We went to a few parks nearby and stopped at the wonderful English pub up the road. Reminder there is no tv but great wifi.

We absolutely loved our time at Arbutus Cottage and wish we could have stayed even longer! The kids LOVED the trails and feeling like we were living in an enchanted cottage in the middle of the woods…one of the resident peacocks even left a special surprise (a beautiful feather) on the back trail for them one day which they will treasure forever! Our hosts were so gracious and we appreciated them going above and beyond to make our stay extra special and delicious. Incredible spot to wrap up our first experience of Vancouver island. We will absolutely be returning.

My wife and I had a terrific experience. The craftsmanship put into the build of the cabin is phenomenal. There is a lot of detail work. The cabin itself is situated nicely on the back of an ecological bog. Nice hiking trails just in the back yard. One thing we did miss is a wood burning fireplace, which this cabin does not have. Hosts are nice and we look forward to staying with them again.Brett and Anastasiya

We had a fantastic time at this cabin! It was exceptionally clean and very comfortable. The bed was so comfy!! Denis replied to any message we sent very quickly. The kitchen is well-appointed with knives, pots and pans, etc, and we had the most delicious eggs and fresh produce from Denis throughout the week. The bathroom is spacious, but the shower has a bit of a learning curve to not spray the floor. The land that the cabin is on is absolutely gorgeous and we saw sooo many birds, including gorgeous peacocks that we woke up to on our porch one morning, and a steller's jay that visited us on the fence one afternoon. Note that you turn off a paved road onto a maintained gravel road as you approach the cabin. We turned on our 4WD for this part of the drive.

Absolutely what we were looking for. Tranquility and off the beaten track. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the host was exceptional. Happy to accommodate us when needed but the cottage was comfortable, cozy and well stocked. Absolutely a place we would come back to.

Beautifully designed cottage. Practical and comfortable. Fully stocked kitchen. Patio with full view of nature. Serene and relaxing environment. Great place to get away. Our puppy very much enjoyed sunning himself in the grass. Trails nearby and beaches to explore. Ladysmith nearby for some shopping. Great host. Proactive and great communication.

YOU MUST STAY HERE!!! Backing onto 250 acres, this is paradise! I stayed for a week as a writing retreat and was treated to the utterly over-the-top hospitality and generosity of the hosts and the surroundings. You can't find somewhere more serene and peaceful - in my week there I wandered the trails, met all kinds of wildlife, and enjoyed the silence. The cottage is immaculate and truly one-of-a-kind, and the hosts have thought of everything. It's extremely comfortable and well stocked and the hosts were amazing at checking in. I will absolutely go back and recommend it to anyone and everyone - a total gem of a place!

Truly a beautiful oasis. A whole cabin to yourself. Very private with a meadow as your front porch. We played cards for hours. The hosts put out bird feed upon our arrival so we could enjoy the nature. They even brought bandaids when my partner suffered a small scratch. The kitchen had every amenity you would expect from a nice kitchen. Truly a beautiful location. Easy to get to salt springs and other golf islands. Would recommend this to any couple looking for a relaxing and unique stay. Great quality for the price. The hosts were very friendly and helpful.

We had an excellent stay at the cottage and would highly recommend others to book it. The cottage itself is beautiful and well equipped. The area is peaceful but still close to surrounding communities with all the amenities you could need. Hosts were great at communicating and were obviously committed to ensuring we had an enjoyable stay.

This is honestly such a quaint and cute cozy little cottage out in the woods, one of our favourite parts was the drive in and out on the driveway it passes through a small lake with just a spectacular view, every time we would come and go from the cottage we would just stop in the very middle of the lake for a few minutes and observe the flora and fauna around us, just incredible.

Arbutus Cottage is a hidden gem. The cottage is in a very private location, beautifully built, with lots of attention to detail. A master carpenter must have been at work there. The cottage was very spacious, comfortable and well-equipped. We were touched by the chocolates on the table, fresh strawberries and all sorts of delicious breakfast items in the fridge. Our dog loved playing in the wildflower meadow and sniffing around the woodland. We loved watching all kinds of birds from our porch. The owners have put a lot of effort in, to make Arbutus Cottage a bird and wildlife paradise. Countless nesting boxes, bird feeders and a bug hotel :). Our hosts, Kirily and Denis, were very responsive and kindly left a big list of attractions of the local area on the table. One of our favourite walks was the Cable Bay Trail, as it is an off leash area for dogs. The Crow & Gate Pub was a top choice for our anniversary dinner. The beer garden is stunning, with lots of trees for shade, dogs allowed and the food and service was superb! We would love to return to Arbutus Cottage in the future. Anybody who loves their peace and quiet, surrounded by nature and lots of wildlife, will LOVE this cottage.
