Welcome to the Black Timber Lake House, a relaxing retreat nestled in the beautiful hamlet of Golden Valley, Ontario — just 3.5 hours north of Toronto.

Our spacious, waterfront cottage on Jack’s Lake offers the perfect mix of comfort and nature.

6 bedrooms, 3 full bathrooms

Sleeps 16 in the main cottage, plus an additional 4 guests in the cozy bunkie.

Nice place on the great lake with the great hosts and lots of possibilities for activities or a piece full stay. We would consider comming back in the near future.

Our family had a wonderful time during our stay. Lots of indoor and outdoor space for hanging out, conversing, playing games and cooking/gathering. The lake is quiet and calm, we spent lots of time on the canoe, kayaks and paddle boat. The house is also nicely renovated and decorated. Great for family and friends.

Where do I even begin. My group and I have been doing our annual cottage trips for a number of years now and nothing compares to this beautiful property. The pictures do not do the property justice. Susan was an amazing host, responding immediately to the many questions and inquiries my group had and even giving us a tour when we first arrived. The building itself is very spacious and the rooms were all wonderfully designed. And the washrooms, straight out of a dream. Many unforgettable memories were made in just a weekend, the property had everything you could ever need for the perfect cottage getaway. I would not be surprised if my group agrees to visit this wonderful cottage again in the future.

Amazing get away

Susan was very easy to communicate with and she responded immediately. Check in was very easy and Susan offered to meet us and give us a quick tour. We fell in love with Susan and Glen’s place as soon as we walked in the door. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was stocked with everything we needed. The house and property was amazing with many sitting areas and a beautiful view. We loved kayaking and swimming in the lake and just relaxing in this quiet, peaceful place. We will definitely be back again. Thank you Susan and Glen!

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay. The canoeing and hiking is endless. The home is warm, inviting and the beds... sooooo comfy, and the bathrooms are to die for! They've thought of everything. The deck outback is so beautifully done. With options for cooking. BBQ, smoker, and a good old charcoal bbq as well. The gorgeous waterside patio is so thoughtfully done. I have only 1 blip, not really for anyone with mobility issue. Lots of stairs and big hill back up to the house. I mean that in the kindest way. I'd go back in a second if not for my issues. I highly recommend. Lovely owners as well. Plus my two maltese loved it.

Susan’s place was fantastic. The cottage was spotless, the beds were very comfortable and it had everything we needed. Susan was quick to reply to my questions. The listing matched the description perfectly and we felt right at home. I love the launch area by the water and the upstairs deck. We spent most of our time there. We would definitely stay here again!

We stayed just shy of a week at Black Timber cottage and it was beautiful inside and out. Our two families had lots of room inside and no one had to share a bed. Outside the waterfront was spacious and easily accessible. We spent hours swimming kayaking and fishing (with great success). The lake was quiet and fun to explore. Sue and Glen were friendly and helpful when needed. Would definitely go back again.

The host was extremely kind and warmly welcomed us, and the place is beautiful.the rooms were clean and beautifully planned, the whole place has been made and maintained with care. you have everything that you need there- cutlery, cooking utensils, a washer-dryer , nice beds and large screen TVs along with barbecue and fire-pit setup.hot and cold water in all bathrooms with large relaxing tubs are a plus.Glen is a wonderful host and the house is a charm to live in- I would highly recommend this place. It was worth the travel and stands true to the great reviews it has. thank you !
