Honeymoon Cottage TVNC 5069 - Short walk to the beach!

Gorgeous Honeymoon Cottage located in Aliomanu... a short walk to the sand. Recently remodeled in March of 2020, the cottage now has a full kitchen and A/C. Thoughtful upgrades include a new larger kitchen area with new appliances, new windows, new flooring, and queen size sleeper sofa.

Tucked away on a quiet, country beach road, this tranquil cottage is perfect for those seeking to truly unwind and explore Kauai's breezy East side. The cottage sits on a large lot it shares with a private beachfront home. Beach access is a few steps away out the front door, to the road, and down the stream-side path. The beach is protected by a coral reef, located about 50 yards out. No big waves come into the swimming area. At low tide you can examine the tide pools or walk out to the reef in shallow water, though there are deeper places to swim and snorkel.

We are located in a rural neighborhood, but just 15 minutes (driving time) from Kapaa, Kilauea and 20 minutes to Princeville amenities or a healthy walk (about 20 minutes) to Anahola post office and general store.

Centrally located for exploring towns and beach, yet private and quiet.

House was clean and as advertised. Welcome basket of snacks, stocked kitchen as well as beach chairs, cooler and frozen ice packs. Comfortable linens & mattress afforded good night of rest. Cottage centrally located to activities. Nearby goat yoga was very entertaining! Private beach accessed in minutes along river. Map on wall shows 2 entrances to beach. Air conditioning & washer/dryer were appreciated. No dishwasher but just my husband & me so only took a few minutes. Enjoyed visits from chickens & chicks. Definitely want to stay here again! Felt like home. Lisa was great & responsive to any questions.

Fantastic family vacation spot

Ended up perfect for our little family; we looked for something private and away from most of tourists but close to a gentle beach for our 3.5yr old. Loved this secluded location with perfect beach so close! We could beach in the morning and walk back for lunch and kid naps in the AC! It was a must to have laundry available. We did run out of laundry soap, toilet paper and paper towels but we were there 8 days. We also filled the trash but I texted our contact and she came and emptied it. It was great that chairs, beach toys and body boards were available- these were so fun! We ended up leaving our beach tent to pass its use along! We cooked most meals here and didn't need anything that wasn't already provided (besides ingredients). The grill was in perfect condition and made great burgers! We would have loved to stay longer and we will definitely stay again if we go back to Kauai. .

You can't see the ocean but you can hear it and it's a short walk to a beach where you are unlikely to see another person. The snorkeling, swimming, wading, cloud and star watching are all good. This is a residential area with no nearby stores or restaurants except for a few tiny places in nearby Anahola but the Cottage kitchen is well-equipped to to cook great meals. The location is convenient for exploring most of the island but, after staying here for 15 Octobers, we only leave to stock up on groceries, play golf, or see live music.

Not for Everyone But Good Location

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I’m sure this place would be perfect for some, but unfortunately it wasn’t for us. The pros are that this place is close to a beach. You can hear the ocean, but can only see it through the windows of the Owner’s home in front of the cottage. It has a nice living room area that feels open and airy. The Owner said it was a swimmable beach, but it looked a little rough – probably depends on time of year and there was not a huge sand part to the beach (more rocks). There are plumeria & hibiscus trees/bushes around the property which is very pretty. It has it’s own parking area and is tucked away in a residential area so it feels like a home. It’s perfect if you want to get away from the crowds. The cons are that it had very little ventilation and was like a hot box. There were only two workable fans in the home which were not high powered. The ceiling fans didn’t work well and the lights on them didn’t work. The Owner brought over an extra fan which helped some but it was still sweltering hot. We typically don’t need AC but this place needed at least 3 other high powered new fans to properly ventilate the place. Another con was that there were a lot of things that needed fixing. We had intended to cook meals here, but the fridge wasn’t cold, had broken shelves and had a strong stench which made all our food taste funny. Our butter was firm going into the fridge and then was so soft like we had left it on a counter, even after being in the fridge all day. We didn’t trust the other items we put in the fridge and ended up throwing out $70 worth of food and didn’t cook there. We had booked the place for 6 nights and ended up leaving once we got another place to stay so we only stayed 2 nights. We understand they didn’t want to refund us (although it would have been nice), but we were hoping they would at least reimburse for the food we lost. The p

Great stay on Kaua’i

Very clean. Good location. Listing is accurate. Well stocked kitchen. Comfortable bed. More than adequate space for the two of us. I would definitely return and recommend. Just a couple of suggestions… we understand electricity is very expensive on Kaua’i and that it’s best to conserve use of the A/C. It would be great if the windows had screens on them so we could have opened the windows at night vs using the A/C. Also, would be good to have an inside garbage can with a lid. Other than that, everything was great! BTW… the Juice Hale just down the road (south and across from Whalers) has the BEST mango smoothies. Definitely worth a stop!

Cottage close to beach

We spent 10 days in the cottage, everything was great! Very quiet neighborhood, great bead, kitchen fully equipped, proximity to a beach where we rarely saw more than 5-6 other people, and only a 15 min drive to Kapa'a with several nice places to get lunch or dinner. We highly recommend this place for a quiet time off.

The location is awesome being able to stroll with our coffee and was the sunrise each morning. Hearing the waves crashing during the night while in a delightful cottage surrounded by tropical flowers blooming and wildlife all around. The cottage had everything we needed to cook and the plastic containers to take lunches with us were a great touch. The beach chairs and towels were really appreciated on our journeys around the lovely island. The cottage was easy to find, the best was extremely comfortable, the outdoor shower was great to rinse off our snorkeling gear and our feet before going into the slice of paradise!! We highly recommend this cottage as a getaway spot for two. The location gave us the ability to explore the whole island. Beyond the waves and the occasional chicken, being on a dead-end street, there is no noise to disturb you at all. Communication was timely and very informative, getting into the cottage with the keypad was simple and convenient, and we found it extremely well equipped for a vacation. Thank you

Private hideaway

Perfect location near a little known bay with great snorkeling in calm weather. Lovely cottage has been remodeled from rustic to resort quality. So nice to have a functional kitchen and air-conditioning, as well as a gas grill outdoors. Our favorite spot on our favorite island for 20+ years.

Absolutely wonderful location

Honeymoon cottage has such a wonderful location and my new bride and I enjoyed a beach setting that we pretty much had to ourselves during our stay. The owners thought of so many details from beach chairs and towels, coolers, flashlights, kitchen items and bountiful greeting snacks and Hawaiian goodies. A few things could be updated and the owner stated he is remodeling soon, so these will be addressed. The communication was unbelievably quick and questions were answered and issues addressed. Will definitely look to stay here again on our return to Kauai.

Great location and clean property

Clean property in a great location (easy access to Kapa'a, and the north and south sides of the island). Some repairs needed (sliding screen and glass door to back patio) but overall the property was very clean and pleasant to stay in. Like all over the island there was a very punctual rooster who kept us tied to a morning schedule.

Reviewer Comments: My wife and I stayed here 9/18 and came back 3/19. A wonderful private cottage experience. Everything you need for a special getaway. Room for three including bath robes for all, beach towels and a guest package of chips chocolates nuts and bottles of island water. Also a nice size grill for all your grilling needs so you can enjoy meals at home. You are about 150 feet from a very private beach and from there you have an endless view of the Pacific ocean. I recommend watching the sun rise and don't forget to watch the moon rise if you are fortunate enough to there at the right time. One of the best times of our lives. Sincerely Monte
