Hilton Head Newbies

This was our family’s first time visiting Hilton Head Island, and it definitely will not be the last. The cottage was everything that we had envisioned and much more. The eclectic charm felt like a page featured in Southern Living. The neighborhood is so charming with the mature trees and pathways for our morning walks. We appreciated closing our long days on the surf-side with relaxing evenings poolside. Our host was gracious and very communicative. Definitely a trip we will remember for years to come!

We enjoyed our week and would definitely book again. House was very clean and having a pool was definitely a great benefit. It was only a short walk to the beach and appreciated that a wagon and cooler was provided for our use. The beach access is thru a gate with a code for the neighborhood so the beach area is not as crowded as the public beach areas are in July, which was nice. Communication with Megan was very good. Just a note that there is no ice maker but 3 ice cube trays and a bin are provided which worked for us. Photos online accurately show the house and pool area. House is a little dated in some areas, (cabinets in kitchen, some dressers in bedrooms) but it is very clean which was more important to us. I would definitely recommend this rental.

Awesome Beach Cottage

Family vacation in HHI was simply the best in this perfect beach house one block from the Folly Field beach. The house has a beautiful outdoor pool - providing a refreshing swim for all. Host communication was very supportive and helped us with the specifics of the area and nuances with the home. While the house is a little tired, it was very clean and provided our family with a great vacation week in Hilton Head.

Relaxing Getaway

We enjoyed our stay at the cottage. The beach was a short walk away and the pool in the back yard was perfect! Plenty of room for everyone to spread out and have their own space. Everything we needed or wanted was within a 15 driving distance or less. Owner was quick to respond and very friendly.

Perfect stay!

Beautiful pool, short walk to the beach, quiet neighborhood, we couldn’t have asked for anything more! This house was perfect for our party of 10 with ages ranging from 1-79. We cooked, we grilled, we used the beach wagon everyday. Comfortable beds, comfortable bedding, a/c worked perfectly. Highly recommend!!!

Great location, nice pool

Review:We really enjoyed our stay! The house is great, though it could use a few upgrades. Loved the location—close to shopping and adventure, yet just a short, easy walk to the beach via a wooded trail. The provided beach cart made carrying gear easier. The pool was clean and refreshing, with a convenient outdoor shower to rinse off. The umbrellas looked new, though the outdoor furniture could use an update. There’s a shed with beach gear, but it’s a bit worn—bring your own if you can.Inside, the living room and beds were comfy (bring your own pillows). The kitchen is small, but it worked fine for light meals. The dishwasher is very old and doesn’t clean well. The large dining table was perfect for group meals and game nights—even a jigsaw puzzle wasn’t in the way. :)Our favorite part was being able to bring our dog! Just note the yard is only partially fenced with some broken slats, so it may not contain a crafty adventure-seeker.With only two TVs in the house (living room and master), it was tricky for our group of 7 when we wanted to watch different things. We ended up buying a cheap smart TV for the week. TVs are so affordable now that adding them to the other four bedrooms would be an easy win and a thoughtful touch for guests.Check-in was smooth and there were no issues that required immediate attention. Overall, the location, comfort, dog-friendliness, and overall vibe made it a great beach getaway, and we would rent here again.

Amazing Vacation

The home was beautiful and clean. Owner was amazing, replied quickly, very kind and wonderful to deal with. I would highly recommend this beautiful home. Only minutes to the beautiful beach, even had a wagon available to carry our things down to the beach.

The perfect home for your family vacation!

We couldn't have been more happy with our stay at the High Tide Cottage. We had five adults and three kids/teens and the home was very spacious and we never felt like we were on top of one another. The kitchen is great and you can have multiple people in there and not be on top of one another. The home is steps away from the beach and the pool was an addition we hadn't had in a vacation home to date that made the getaway even better! Megan was a great host! Easy to communicate with and provided everything we needed. We will definitely be back!

Perfect beach stay!

We had a wonderful time on HHI at this house. The property was clean, a nice big back yard and pool, plenty of space for our crew and the best part was the short walk to the beach!

Family Vacay 2023

It's our second time here and the location is perfect! the kiddos loved the pool and the access to the beautiful beach. It's a quiet, peaceful neighborhood that is perfect for a family.

Great place, amazing location

My sister and I stayed with our families to celebrate my father’s 70th birthday. Steps from the beach, the house was large enough to accommodate all of us with a pool that kept my older kids entertained and a mini bedroom that was perfect for my niece’s crib. Everything was clearly explained, as promised, and super clean, so we didn’t need Megan, but I have no doubt that she would be on top of it if we did. Would highly recommend!

Perfect Location

We were down for our sons wedding at the Westin and the cottage was a perfect homebase for our family to enjoy a week together. The cottage was charming and cozy. It had everything we needed to feel at home. The location to the beach and the pool were an added bonus. We will definitely look to stay here again when we return to Hilton Head!

Excellent stay in High Tide Cottage!

Our family of 7 adults and out 55lb dog had a wonderful stay over the Christmas week. Megan was a great host; quick at answering my questions and very accommodating. Although mother nature didn't bring the warmer weather we hoped for we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Hilton Head. The cottage had the perfect amount of space for all of us. We relaxed on the sofas and watched TV, did arts and crafts and played games on the large dining table and prepared all of our meals in the well stocked kitchen. The location can't be beat! We walked and ran with our dog on Folly Field beach every day and she loved fetching, swimming and playing with the other dogs. The water was calm and the sand was packed and great for walking, running and riding bikes. We explored the area and really enjoyed the Gullah heritage bus tour and riding horses at Lawton Stables. We definitely will stay here again if we travel to Hilton Head in the future!

Clean, comfortable and just what we needed.

We hadn't had a beach vacation in several years. It was great. It was private and still close enough to everything to be convenient. The location, the pool, the space all helped us relax and spend quality time with family. ...what vacations are for.

So Close to The Ocean

Beautiful home, there was plenty of room for us all, very clean, has everything thing you need. Fantastic having a pool to relax in after spending a day at the beach. We will be back!

We have stayed a few times prior to this visit and every time enjoyed our time! This visit was no exception! Host was very kind and helpful and the home was extremely clean and welcoming! Of course our favorite part as always is the pool!!! We look forward to visiting again 💕

A beautiful experience

We had the most relaxing trip and very much e joyed our stay here. The house is well appointed with all the comforts of home. Very close to the beach which was never crowded. The pool was lovely and clean. We spent a lot of time in and around the pool. The master bedroom was very nice and the bed was really comfortable. The other beds could use an upgrade in quality but everything was clean. And well maintained. Not having an automatic ice maker in the refrigerator was a bit if a challenge as there was no place very close to buy ice daily. Having a working laundry room was so nice as we did not need to pack as many clothes for the trip! Overall we made some great family memories and really had a beautiful experience!!

My husband and I and our family have been coming to Hilton Head Island for many years. We both grew up in Columbus, OH, and are big Buckeye fans! We still live in the central Ohio area and are both retired. We came to love High Tide Cottage as we were repeat renters. I hope to maintain the quality and charm in this unique, early Folly Field home.

Nestled in a quiet residential community. Short walk to beach (4 minutes!). The beach is uncrowded even during height of season!
Lovely private pool (can be heated during cooler months). Dining table outdoors as well as indoors. Spacious cottage with five bedrooms with room for10 people and 3.5 bathrooms. One of the bedrooms is on the main floor and has a full bath for those who don't climb stairs. Kitchen is fully stocked. Washer and dryer are available.

Perfect for a family "staycation" if you are working and /or schooling from "home". Good WIFI, private room for office or nursery on second floor. Email us if you are interested! Discount available for extended stay for Snowbirds or staycation users.
