Enjoy this cozy abode, ideal for couples or groups looking for an affordable and convenient spot to enjoy the sites! Located within the Basic City Hub, Afton Abode is within walkable distance to Basic City Brewery and downtown Waynesboro, just a few miles from Skyline Drive, Parkway, and Appalachian Trail. Conveniently located near the 151 Nelson County Wine/Brewery Trail and Wintergreen Resort!

The unit is a private two-bedroom space with beautiful hardwood flooring throughout. The living room features an eat-in dining space plus living space, a flat-screen TV, and in-unit laundry.

Relax and spend a blissful night or two (or seven) in this convenient space featuring a full-size kitchen, eat-in dining area, full bath, and two bedrooms. Kitchen features an oven/stove, refrigerator, and microwave. The kitchen is fully stocked for 6 with pots, pans, utensils, cups, wine glasses, etc. Plenty of countertop space for cooking and cabinets for food storage. Off the kitchen are the eat-in dining area and living area with a flat-screen TV, sofa, WIFI/NETFLIX provided. There are two spacious bedrooms in the house. Each bedroom features a queen bed featuring pillow top mattresses, luxurious bedding, and a closet for storage. Soaring ceilings throughout and plentiful space. The Afton Abode is ideal for a comfortable nights sleep. Convenient location with private entrance, walkable distance to Basic City Brewery. Short drive to Blue Ridge Parkway and Wintergreen for a full day of hiking.

This unit does require going up a flight of stairs. The Unit is all one level. The unit is a spacious two bedroom unit within a larger building. It is located in the heart of the city and close to the main road, so it is likely to hear traffic, ambulance, and trains.

We allow pets but there is a pet fee which we will request separately.

Perfect Weekend Getaway

This spot was perfect for our weekend getaway! It was walkable to downtown and nearby bakeries, restaurants and breweries.

Better than a hotel!

This apartment is in a great location for exploring the Shenandoah National Park! The price was right! Nothing fancy, but worked for us to come back to after a long day and rest!

Great location and comfy beds. Very large apartment which worked well for the four of us However, cleaning staff was there 30 minutes past check in, and check in instructions weren’t given until a few hours beforehand. We were backpacking the night before so the lack of service made planning without the details a little harder

Convenient location

Property was not quite as pictured. Mold and mildew in shower. Hot water was luke warm at best. They did send maintenance to check it. Place reeked of pot and cigarette smoke. Owners were slow to respond. Lots of space in the unit. Lots of road noise from traffic.

Amazing Management

When we arrived there were dirty sheets for one bed and the trash was over flowing. I get it, things happen. We contacted management and there was someone there to clean the whole apartment within 20 minutes. (it may have been less time but we were on our way out for dinner) Then they followed up to make sure things were good. What started out looking not so great ended up wonderful. Thank you for your attentiveness and wonderful customer service.

Not the best. No communication afterwards

Unfortunately our stay was not the best. We actually did not stay at all. Upon arrival we realized quickly we would not be getting a restful night's sleep. The traffic coming from the street was very noisy. Nevertheless we figured we would suck it up for one night and it was just a place we could lay our heads and get some rest. Besides the busy street noises there was a dog in the other apartment that was barking non stop. We had a pet ourselves who is reserved and this non stop loud barking was making our pet uncomfortable to say the least. Another issue was we had a unexpected visitor as well. A man knocked on our door around 9pm asking if his "friend was in the apartment'. I responded telling the man his friend was not with us and he needed to leave. This was uncomfortable because of the time of night and it was dark outside. The real main issue we had was with the temperature in the apartment. The thermostat stated the heat was on and running but the temperature continued to drop for the short time we were there. It was very cold outside and by 9pm the temperature inside the apartment was under 60 degrees and falling. We were already becoming very cold inside and believed it would only get colder throughout the night. With all of these issues happening in such a short amount of time we did not feel comfortable staying and we promptly packed up our things and left to stay at a nearby hotel.

Nice Location

Was perfect for what we needed for weekend good spot for visiting all the local wineries that are nearby and enjoyed the brewery down the street as well.
