The little cabin is just what we were looking for and had everything we needed. Seclusion, peace and quiet was a must and it did not disappoint. The star gazing was beyond what we could have imagined.

This place is amazing!! The house is clean and comfortable with all the amenities, but the VIEW from the wraparound porch…pictures don’t do it justice. They also have this sweet little trail behind the house, washers, and an outdoor seating area to stargaze. Hosts were friendly and responsive with lots of good information. A couple of tips; it’s remote and off the beaten path…you have to go down 3 miles of bumpy dirt road but it’s worth it (you are in the country and there are lots of dirt roads). Also, relax and enjoy the hilly, mountainous scenery, but be aware of your surroundings because you may see some cool wildlife! On our final day, we saw a bear walking down the trails behind the house. He paid us no mind and it was wonderful to experience that.If you want a trip to Big Bend, this is a perfect location. We plan on coming back!!

A great stay in a beautiful setting. Perfect place to come home to after our days hiking in Big Bend NP. The state park was also fantastic! Loved the many views from the porch, the local wildlife, and seeing the Milky Way nightly. Enjoyed cooking in the kitchen. We hope to return!!!

Home was very well prepared for cooking - not many places are! The home was beautiful and well maintained and the extremely dark skies made for awesome stargazing opportunities

Amazing property and very clean

Location is excellent, the cabin is very nice and it was the cleanest rental I’ve ever had. Simple checkout process is nice too.

Big Bend Getaway

We had the best time at Christmas Mountains Ranch. Well appointed, comfortable and secluded as well as being close to Big Bend National Park. Night sky was amazing! We definitely want to go back!!

Great place!

If you want to be waaaaay out, off the grid, in an amazing cabin with all the amenities, this is your place! Fantastic porch and property, sandwiched between several mountains. Way off the beaten path.

Wonderful place!

Exceptional property! Clean and nicely appointed. Location is remote with great views and dark sky. Big Bend National Park is a little drive but this place was wonderful to return to each day. Highly recommend.

Relaxing and quiet

We have made coming out to Big Bend a yearly trip and decided to stay at Christmas Mountain this year. The cabin did not disappoint. The location was great and it was so peaceful and relaxing. We had such a great time relaxing on the patio and playing games and enjoying the stars at night.

What an incredible place- beautiful landscape, restful vibe, very comfy ranch house, fantastic verandah/porch. Loved the walking path across the river bed to the chairs for scenic gazing. We had a great day out in Big Bend National Park. Spent two days at the ranch house because it was so restful and scenic.

Lovely scenic property

We had a wonderful stay at Christmas Mountains Ranch! The house was super clean, and the outdoor porches were amazing for watching sunrises and sunsets. The dirt road was totally do-able for our sedan, although we probably would have preferred to have been in an SUV. We highly recommend!

The three days at this property definitely amounted to one of the most calming and fulfilling stays anywhere other than home. Just being able to see those stars so clearly took my breath away.

This cabin is beautiful with clean and comfortable rooms that had everything we needed. The cabin’s setting is amazing with gorgeous views in all directions. We greatly enjoyed star gazing in the yard. I loved the walking path around the property, it has lovely landscaping and even solar lights. Communication with Big Bend Rentals was excellent. Detailed instructions and driving directions (including step-by-step directions with pictures) were provided. We greatly enjoyed our stay while visiting Big Bend National Park.

Beautiful, quiet and remote location

We really enjoyed our week at this home. We thought it the perfect size for the two of us and loved the quiet and the sky at night. It was a bit of a drive to Big Bend National Park (at least an hour one way) but was worth it to stay in such a peaceful spot. The place was spotless when we arrived and the property managers were always prompt in replying and so helpful. We had a marvelous time!

Gorgeous & Peaceful!

Our stay at this cabin was absolutely perfect. The location is fairly remote, so the nights were quiet and the stargazing was phenomenal. It's over an hour away from the entrance to Big Bend NP, but I loved watching the sunset on the drive back to the cabin each night. I definitely did not want to leave this place and will, without hesitation, book this cabin if I'm ever out in that area again. Quite possibly the best place I've ever booked on VRBO.
