We loved the home, deck, hot tub, kitchen and bedrooms. Unfortunately internet access was not available for our stay. Not sure if this is common or just situational (a tower was down). We received a discount for the issue.

We had a wonderful time on Orcas Island and this house was perfect! It was in a quiet neighborhood and we saw whales, eagles and sea lions from the deck of the house. The hot tub was a great place to keep an eye out for wildlife and was the perfect temperature. The house was immaculate, comfortable and had everything we needed. I would definitely recommend this house for a stay on Orcas!

Orcas Island Getaway

Beautiful view from back yard, warm and clean hot tub was relaxing. Lots of towels and linens and a kitchen with all the cookware you could ask for. Overall lovely!

Spectacular house for family trip

We had a wonderful stay on Orcas Island. Hands down one of the best home rentals we’ve ever had — the view with hot tub is spectacular. The linens were cozy and high-quality. The house was sparkling clean but nevertheless felt homey. Perfect for our two families, each with a young kid, would have felt tight with a third family, but could have easily accommodated more children. Great access to hikes, lake swims, and everything the beautiful island has to offer. Highly recommend!

Beatiful location

The place is open, great views, wonderful deck. It's a bit out away from towns/markets, so be prepared for that. The upstairs bedrooms are open to below, so you probably can't sleep there until the rest of the house is going to bed. Here's the most amazing thing: The kitchen knives are sharp. Have you ever stayed at a VRBO with sharp knives? I have, now.

The location and views are amazing. The deck and porch was cluttered with leaves, we had to sweep them. The inside was good but the big windows weren't cleaned and had cobwebs, there wasn't any dry wood, matches or paper to start a fire for the standing fireplace. We had construction workers come to the house and stayed for 30 minutes, which we weren't told about anyone showing up. The beds were very comfortable. The area was very quiet which was nice, very nice neighbors, and the town people were also nice. The price was a little too much for what we experienced.

get away

Beautiful views, everything you need for your stay (minus food, of course) I enjoyed my get away and relaxed in the hot tub overlooking the ocean, didn't enjoy the drive up there a bit narrow, but it is an island. Saw an Eagle up close, and deer in the yard. I was in a rush to make the ferry so I didn't pack enough food and had to make a run to local market, it was a bit pricey, so don't do what I did.

Wonderful stay!

Overall, a great, relaxing stay. The property was just as described. Check in and check out was very easy, and the home was clean and well-maintained. We enjoyed visits to the nearby beach, soaks in the hot tub, and cooking in the fairly well-equipped kitchen. There was a 3-year old buck who visited the yard fearlessly each day. The only minor criticisms were that the coffee maker is very slow to brew (bring a press or do your own pour-over with a filter basket), and at times there was a faint sulfur smell in the loft bathroom (possibly a septic venting / u-trap design issue) but nothing the bathroom extractor fan didn’t clear up. Overall, we were exceedingly happy with our stay!

Orcas island retreat

My friends and I LOVED staying at this property. The views of the sound were absolutely incredible. Even on the stormy days - we spied a few rainbows and enjoyed hot tubing in the rain. The location was nice for us. We enjoyed that it was a bit more remote and secluded. It took about 15-30 minutes to get to other parts of the island for activities but that was not a problem for us. The house was stocked with everything we needed. The private path down to the beach is a must! The directions for finding it are a bit confusing, basically just continue down the road the house is on and you'll run into the path. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone considering it!

Location! Location! Location!This property offers fantastic views at any time during the day! It's quite a ways off the beaten path, but it does have neighbors. The private beach is amazing. The house is well stocked with pillows, books, a few games, and plenty of fans. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals almost every evening. The hot tub was in great working condition and used every night. The property management company did an outstanding job with communication. All the check-in information was clear and correct. The check-out information was very detailed. I would not hesitate to rent this house again. We had a wonderful experience!

Very nice

Wonderful spot in a remote location with big windows and deck overlooking the sound. Plenty of open space for lounging (and crawling for our 1-year-old). Well-appointed kitchen. You have to negotiate a steep narrow trail to get to the very cool private beach from which you can see Mount Baker and the Vancouver skyline. Some in our party saw otters and a minke whale. The only drawback to this place was that one bedroom has bunk beds and another is a open loft (great views but less privacy) but the other features more than made up for it.

Beautiful quiet location. Wi-fi is lacklaster

Beautiful home overlooking north shore on Orcas Island. It is not a far drive from Eastsound although the first 5 minutes is spent driving through a private neighborhood with a narrow road. We did see Orcas and enjoyed walking on the beach which was down a trail next to the house next door. Many deer and birds all around, and a trash panda at night. The hot tub was amazing! We had a lot of difficultly streaming due to to spotty Wifi. The house cleaners should up five minutes early--which seemed in poor taste, but a minor complaint.

Lovely place with amazing views

Beautifully clean, everything worked great, truly awe inspiring views. So peaceful and lovely. House is much more spacious than it appears in the pictures. There were 5 of us but could have easily accommodated more. We really enjoyed the outdoor deck and hot tub every evening, and a buck with full antlers ambled down the driveway to say hello two nights in a row. Neighborhood beach was very private, with heaps of smooth gray small rocks/pebbles. Trail to the beach was an engineering feat since the drop-off is really steep. You drive on a gravel road for a ways to get there, so select your vehicle accordingly. I'm a nervous driver so I was glad we happened to have rented a mini SUV.

Fantastic home! We most enjoyed the private beach area and the hot tub. The kitchen had all the amenities we needed. We appreciated the small cooler in the closet that we borrowed to keep our drinks cold on our chartered fishing trip. My daughter and husband enjoyed playing games on the nice chess board each night. Beds were cozy, plenty of pillows--everything we needed to make our 10 yr annivsary trip to the island perfect! The home was a great location near town with a beautiful road. Would definitely love to stay here again!

Beautiful, quiet spot with nearby water access

We’re a group of college friends who started traveling to the SJI’s in 2020 and come back every year. This house was perfect for a small group of ladies looking to cook together and explore the island and waterfront during the day. The adorable little park and water access down the road was perfect for launching our paddle boards and sipping coffee in the mornings. Only knock was that the dishwasher was out of order, which made cooking and cleaning all meals for 8 people a bit of a chore. Other than that, we loved this spot!!

Raccoon Point

Location is beautiful for this property with good access to the shore line. House is spacious. We missed having an operational dishwasher and screen door, and would have preferred a cleaner hot tub. Lots of animal sightings: eagles, deer, raccoons, porpoise.

Aurora House

The Aurora House was a great site for a family vacation. Excellent views, nearby, easily accessed beach, convenient to Eastsound but also very private. The hot tub got a good workout. However: the dishwasher did not work. Of the three coffee makers, two took about 30 minutes to brew coffee. The dryer took four runs and nearly four hours to dry a set of towels. The telescope supposedly had three levels of magnification but was stuck on one. One of the beds had a fitted sheet that was too big and made sleeping difficult for the couple in it.
