Minutes east of I-43 nestled in beautiful wooded acreage with a short walk to the shores of Lake Michigan. This cottage is on a private drive and a great panoramic view. The only neighbors that are close by are the owners of this cottage which gives this a great appeal for those who value service. Enjoy the sights and sounds of Lake Michigan with a tranquil walk down our lane. We are 12 minutes from Sheboygan where the famous Blue Harbor Resort is located along with several unique restaurants and specialty shops along the Sheboygan River. Sheboygan County has several opportunities for golf enthusiasts including The Bull at Pinehurst Farms, Riverdale Country Club, Blackwolf Run and Whistling Straits. Ryder Cup is at Whistling Straits just 20 minutes away from the tournament. For fishing enthusiasts Sheboygan offers Dumper Dan’s Charters where you can take a ride on Lake Michigan for some exciting fishing. Racing enthusiasts? Just a short drive away you can enjoy weekend races at Road America in Elkhart Lake. For those who like to shop we have several local towns that not only have antiques and boutiques but also several good local restaurateurs and wedding venues.

Nice getaway from the city with friendly and helpful hosts. We enjoyed a cold February weekend by the fire, with great dining in nearby Sheboygan. The proximity to the lake would be perfect in warmer weather. Highly recommend!

This property is the best! The cottage has all the amenities you need along with being top quality. Amy and Wayne go beyond to make sure your stay is 100% top notch. The property has a great location being just minutes from Sheboygan and a quick trip to Milwaukee. Also, it just a short walk to Laue Michigan. We highly recommend

We absolutely loved our time at Sandalwood Cottage. The cottage couldn’t have been more cozy, felt just like being home, and the yard was beautiful as well. The deck was the perfect place to relax and watch the local wildlife. We even had three deer who came to visit a few times! Close to everything we needed, yet so secluded and peaceful. We will be back!

This property owners of this home have thought of EVERYTHING to make your stay comfortable! The home is beautifully decorated and very homey. There were laundry accommodations on site which was wonderful! I highly recommend this home and would definitely stay here again.

Quiet easy vacation!

Your cottage was pretty, cozy and very inviting. Very peaceful which is what we were looking for. Thank you for thinking of everything we needed and decorating the cottage the way you did. Great house, great location, great host!

We very much enjoyed our stay! Amy thought of everything from brochures,maps, stocked kitchen and bathroom, plenty of towels, cute decor for sale, games, etc. The location is close enough to Sheboygan, Kohler, Port Washington - we hit them all! In the summer, we would have parked ourselves at the beach. Gorgeous! The walk to the entrance is 1/4 mile down the drive.

This was great get away from it all, while still being close enough to be as exciting as you want your vacation to be. We enjoyed doing many puzzles in front of the fire, the local state parks and more than one area supper club along with a walk on the beach from the cottage on our first night. The owners are extremely responsive and helped me by suggesting Best buy or allowing for an Amazon delivery when I realized, more than half way to our destination, that I forgot my fitbit charger. We would absolutely spend time here again. Thank you!

Girls getaway

PERFECT spot for a little getaway. Adorable cottage with everything thought of. We enjoyed our time! Not as close to the lake as we would have liked as it was a bit of a walk around to the public access. Thank you for the hospitality!

My husband, Wayne, and I moved here in 2004 with our four children. He is a local Pastor at Grace Bible Fellowship in Oostburg. Our roots come from Southwest Michigan in a small town called Jenison. Our kids are all grown up, married with children and now was the perfect time for us to invest in a place where we can share our hospitality and love for people.

Sandalwood, is on the south side of our adjoining properties. We always had hopes to one day own and renovate it for the purpose of turning it into a place where guests can rest, relax and unwind. With that in mind we have designed the property for our guests to immerse in the natural setting that Sandalwood has to offer.

This cottage is on a private drive 300ft from Lake Michigan. Wildlife is abundant in any given season. Wooded lot. Most neighbors are seasonal. No neighbors to the south and we are to the north separated by the woods. The sounds of nature make this an attractive place to visit. From the winds to the waves to the chirping birds to the hooting of owls. Sandalwood is a place like no other.

Owners live north of the property. We are close to the City of Sheboygan , Kohler, Milwaukee and and hour away from Green Bay to catch a momentous NFL game at historical Lambeau Field. All of these cities have attractions to many to count.

Sandalwoods Lake Access Points:
The lake level has progressively gone down since 2019 and we are seeing signs of beach recovery. The access points below have minimal beach to sit and enjoy the view, but you will be able to walk on the beach from the North access point which will take you all the way to Kohler Andrae State Park if you are feeling ambitious. You can certainly swim in the lake from our access points:

Going South on Cardinal Lane: Once you see a paved cross street called Foster Rd, it will be at the end of that road, which dead ends to the lake. If you take your car down by the access, parking is permissible on the North side of the road, facing West.

Going North on Cardinal Lane: Once you see a paved cross street called Townline Rd, it will be at the end of that road, which dead ends to the lake. This access, on a calm day, walking North, will lead you to Kohler Andrae State Park.

As an alternative, I would recommend Kohler Andrae State Park as an option for your beach experience. It is about a 5-minute drive from Sandalwood. There are available brochures about the park in the magazine rack by the dining table.
