Welcome to Beach Bums!

Family owned and operated
"Beach Bums" - Enter house from Jungle Shores Road, use the convenient elevator or main entrance. At the top of the steps enjoy the open floor plan which includes spacious kitchen, living room, and dining area. Off the living room and dining area, enjoy the screened in porch with partial marsh views. First floor also includes a Queen Bedroom with entrance to covered porch. Hall bath with shower over tub.
Walk up the the second floor you will find another queen bedroom with an entrance to a covered porch. Hall bathroom with shower over tub. Second bedroom with two twin beds. Hall access to full size washer and dryer. King size bedroom with private bath, double vanity, tub and stall shower. The bathroom is a walk in closet. The king bedroom has a private screened in porch. Access Third Floor by Spiral stairs to a loft bedroom with two twin beds. Bedrooms and porches have ceiling fans. Property includes the use of a outdoor shower, Weber gas grill, Bench Swing, Hammock and picnic table.
Beach Access, short walk, bike ride or drive a golf cart!

Was a great house for our group! Just make sure you understand that the 3rd flr loft is only accessible through the master bedroom. Would be interested in renting again!

Fabulous home!

This is the second time we have stayed at beach bums. We love how beautiful it is as well as room for all of our family. The kitchen is awesome as well!!!!!

Love Edisto and Beach Bums

This is a wonderful home that is well taken care and perfect location to a great beach access. This is our second year staying there for our annual beach trip and plan to stay again next summer!

Beautiful House

We had a wonderful mini vacation in Edisto. The house was beautiful and the location was great! After arriving we decided we would like to stay one more day and the host responded quickly to our request. We will definitely stay again.

Beach Bums

In general our stay was quite enjoyable. The beach and area can't be beat! The house accommodated our family well. The house is a bit worn, and needs some updates, and it was a busy place with yard work and AC maintenance that we weren't expecting to deal with. I do recommend this home for families.

Vacay '24

We cherish time on vacation with our children and grandchildren. One of our daughters and her family were unable to attend this year, or we would love to stay here again. With the addition of her family, Beach Bums would not house us all. Thank you for a great week in Edisto!!!

Perfect beach house

We loved our stay at Beach Bums! It is a beautiful home with plenty of room for my parents, my sister, my nephews, and their families. Having the elevator was especially convenient for my aging parents. Heather was helpful and kept a check on things throughout the week. We felt blessed to be able to enjoy this beach house!

Perfect for our group!

Beautiful, comfortable home, was an excellent fit for our large group and in a great location. We had a wonderful stay. One minor note to be made to any future bookings: the house is a duplex and shares a wall with another house. Something to keep in mind should you be worried about volume coming from neighbors.

Great Thanksgiving Getaway

I have a tradition of booking a house at the beach the week of Thanksgiving to bring my family together. This house was perfect for us! It had plenty of room and all the necessities. The house is stocked with lots of cookware which was great for cooking our Thanksgiving meal. The host was very responsive and friendly to my questions. We loved the screened in porches since it rained a couple of days. I would definitely stay here again!

Beach Bums

The property was only a block from the beach and comfortably acccomodated the six women who all stayed at the house. We were told to bring our own sheets and bath towels, which everyone did. Future tenants should also be told to bring hand towels for the bath rooms and bath mats. The location was very nice, although it was too cold for the beach.

2018 Edisto Island Girl’s Vacay

Only recommendation would be to provide a list of all of this specific house’s supplies and an inventory ahead of time. Very comfortable and in great "neighborhood" Overall we were happy with the rental but the location was not the best as far as beach goes. We have two small children and the tide was so strong and so scary that we biked up the beach in order to get to a calmer area. Now that I know which side of the beach is best I know where to stay. Lovely house But be Prepared with Supplies

The house is even nicer than the photos, and it was a great fit for our family with four adults and three children. It's a relatively easy walk to the beach. The property owner was a pleasure to work with a suggestion a wonderful spot to visit. Just be aware that 1) dining and entertainment options are very limited in Edisto, and 2) you'll not only need to bring towels and linens and bath mats--for our six day stay, we wound up needing to buy our own toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap, and dish detergent. We've stayed in VRBOs all over the world, and we've never been expected to provide so many basics. Which is absolutely fine, as long as you understand the expectations ahead of time.

Thanksgiving at Edisto

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Duplex was ok but needed deep cleaning. Renters in attached unit had a dog that they would let out on porch and dog constantly barked. We tried to get it to stop barking but they were evidently oblivious to situation that was very irritating. I believe unit has a "no pets" policy.

Grad school celebration

Property was ok but needs some deep cleaning. Large bath off upstairs master but other 2 baths small; toilet seats need replacing. Main complaint is unit next door (this is a duplex) was rented and they had a dog that would bark constantly when we were on porch and also could hear in house with windows and doors closed. It is stated NO PETS in ad on VRBO for both duplexes, although not sure the same rental agency handles both units.

Edisto Fall get away

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We came down for a quick Fall getaway to go to the Edisto Book store for C. Hope Clark’s new book signing , Edisto Tidings. Also to see our newest grandson. This is first time we stayed on Jungle Road and Beach Bums was a great choice. It was clean and nicely decorated. Straight shot to the beach access and the weather was perfect for the beach stroll. We enjoyed great breakfast at the Seacow, and good seafood at Whaleys and delicious shrimp and grits at the Waterfront. As always Atwood was professional and very helpful. That’s why we come in May, Oct and Nov. We are never disappointed and if something at the rental needs attention Atwood has always taken care of the problem. Can’t wait to come again.

Nice house just sort of dirty

The house is beautiful and in a great area. Very quiet and a short walk to the beach. The owner, Heather was nice and was easy to talk to and work with. Check in was simple as well. My only complaint is that the property was dirty. We received a message at noon the day of arrival stating it was ready for check in. Upon arrival the kitchen was dirty, crumbs and stuck on residue on the stove and counters, onion skins on the pantry shelves, all baseboards and woodwork were caked in dust, the master bathtub had dead gnats in it, master shower had hair in it, the master toilet had a literal poop stain in the bowl, and the hardwood floors had all of our feet black within an hour. I contacted Heather within 20 mins of check in with our concerns and she offered to send a cleaner back out the following morning which was the earliest time available. I accepted. I ended up cleaning up the master bath so we could even unpack and use it, not what I wanted to do upon check in and driving seven hours with two kids under 4. So first impression was bad and I was very unhappy. Heather was very compassionate to the situation. The cleaners came on time and the master looked better but not still 100% and the floors still made our feet black. We ended up just wearing our shoes inside the whole week, and we don’t like to wear shoes in the house because it’s gross.

A nice place

We enjoyed our stay. The walk to the beach is easy. The screened porch was one of our favorite features! The house was well suited to our needs.
