This darling property is private and steps to everything in Gloucester. We own both upstairs and downstairs units. The VRBO is Unit 1 on the main floor with its own entrance and relaxing yard. Steps to restaurants and downtown activities. Blocks to the beach. Comfortable & clean, AC throughout, with relaxing beach decor.

No loud festivities after 10 pm. This is the main downstairs unit of our multifamily home. Our long term tenant upstairs is very quiet.

Great place in Gloucester

Such a nice place to stay. Beds were comfortable and location was great. Plenty of parking on the street. No complaints at all. Would stay again.

Cheerful spot for our beach trip

We loved staying here with our 8 year old! The rooms were bright and clean, the furniture was comfortable and modern. Jo Ann was very responsive to my questions ahead of our stay. It’s in a great location: just a few minutes walk to the stretch of shops and restaurants in downtown Gloucester.

Excellent Location

Excellent location! We went to attend some family gatherings and to enjoy the greasy pole event. This property was well maintained, clean and a perfect size for family with a couple kids. Owners were super nice and helpful. The location is amazing- you can walk right to the beach and the downtown is just up the road with great shopping and restaurants. We walked to the carnival for the event and even better the parade came right in front of the house. Couldn’t ask for a better stay.

Fabulous!!

Perfect location. Plenty of street parking in front of house. There are plenty of towels, extra sheets, kitchen utensils, and toilet paper :). Dunkin and Walgreens about 2 blocks away, with a couple of food places. Then there are many other places within 1/2 mile. Will definitely be back!

Homey New England Getaway Spot

We really enjoyed our stay. The house was well-stocked and had everything we needed. It was very comfortable and outside noises were minimal. Everything is within easy walking distance (groceries, transit, restaurants, etc.). Would definitely stay here again. (If you want to go into Boston, take the MBTA for $10 per person on the weekend with unlimited transit stops. It takes 70 minutes and the scenery is worth it. Also, check out Good Harbor Beach relatively nearby if you like a kelp-free beach and lots of sand.

Close to town

The unit was exactly as described in the listing. It was a large unit and the kitchen was fully stocked. It was about a 5 minute walk downtown Gloucester and about 30 minute drive to Salem. We also did whale watching with Cape Ann Whale Watching which was about a 3 min walk and perfect location for the early tour. The area was nice and quiet but we could hear the owners upstairs walking around and talking a lot later in the night. Overall it was a good stay and a nice big unit.

Amazing Experience

My partner and I had the pleasure of staying here long term due to the unfortunate circumstances of our condo sustaining damage after a bad storm. We are so grateful to Jo Ann and Arne, the property managers, for their immense amount of hospitality and flexibility during what was otherwise a stressful time. Hands down we could not have asked for a more perfect space. It had everything we needed to feel at home, including an ample office space, which was perfect for working for remote work. The home is located in a prime area where you can walk two minutes up the street to all of the wonderful restaurants and shops downtown. You are also five minutes away from Gloucester’s great beaches. The property managers truly make sure that you have all the comforts of home and the amenities that make your stay better than most hotels can offer. We cannot recommend staying at this property enough!

Quiet, conveniently located, fabulous apartment in Gloucester. Hosts were very nice and accommodating, even accepting parcels in advance of our stay. We had all 4 seasons during our 6 night visit and although we were challenged operating the air/heat mini splits, the host immediately set temperatures of each room for us, several times. Gloucester was beautiful and so much to see & do. We ventured to Salem for Halloween and wellas well many other North Shore destinations. Parking on street in front of house was always plentiful. House was well stocked with essentials. We would suggest mirrors in bedrooms as sharing a bath with 3 adult women "getting ready" was a tad of a challenge. Definitely recommend and would return.

Location, Location, Location!

My husband and I were lifelong residents of Boston's North Shore until retiring to Virginia a few years ago. We often travel back to visit with friends and family, and Cape Ann is our preferred destination. This wonderful property on Main Street in Gloucester is our new favorite rental due in part to its downtown location where shops and restaurants are in walking distance. In addition to its proximity to downtown Gloucester, there are several features about this property which earned, for us, a 5 star rating. The kitchen is fully supplied with everything one might need and has a large, clean refrigerator, ample counter space and a dining area. There is a private, outdoor space in a lovely garden just outside the back door of the kitchen. The bathroom is updated, has a large vanity and the shower was great! There are lots of extra towels and other supplies for guests. We enjoyed the living area which has comfortable furniture, a dining set and a new television. Most importantly, the beds were also very comfortable. Both bedrooms are sizeable with large dressers, roomy closets, and a desk and television in each. Our host Arnie could not have been nicer. We had some issues figuring out the television, and he was very helpful and patient. He seemed to genuinely care that we enjoyed our stay in his property, and we most certainly did! Thank you, Arnie and Jo Ann.

Great Place

We really enjoyed our stay! The house was clean and close to many cute stores and restaurants. Even though I could here the upstairs tenant every time they would walk around, I would definitely consider staying here again!

Sister Trip

My sisters and I enjoyed our stay in Gloucester. The accommodations were perfect for us. The unit was clean and well stocked with everything we needed. Getting around was easy. We took the train to Boston. One suggestion we have is to maybe have mirrors in the bedrooms. Otherwise we were very happy with our stay.

My husband and I are working professionals with adult children. We both also work remotely and enjoy traveling.

We have another home we travel back and forth to. Our daughter and her husband live around the corner in Gloucester and our son is nearby our California home.

We love everything in Gloucester. It is a lovely town and our home is uniquely located adjacent to the downtown.

We enjoy, like most of us, family time and an opportunity for some relaxing downtime and homemade food. The kitchen has all amenities needed.

We also love to walk through downtown Gloucester to the board walk that lines the ocean to the nostalgic statue of a captain at the wheel of a ship in a storm, and then walk over to Stage Fort Park There are public tennis courts on this walk. We have also visited a lot of the artist coops nearby and Rocky Neck. We also enjoy going to the nearby North Shore Communities and Boston for events or for lunch. Rockport is a 5 min car ride to the Shalin Liu theater and shops and restaurants. Good Harbor beach is 2 miles. Uber or the subway and local shuttle CATA buses going there stop down the street for pickup. Salem is also not far to drive or take public transportation there.

We recently upgraded the insulation and heating and A/C in the property so it is enjoyable to be here what ever time of year. We like to watch movies and have TV with basic local cable channels in the living room and TV's with Firesticks for Wifi Apps and Youtube in the bedrooms. Wifi is also available. There is also a desk and comfortable office chair in each bedroom so that we each have our own work stations to make calls and work online.

Our neighborhood is quiet most of the time and we enjoy that. We have a long term tenant upstairs who works 6 days a week and gets up early and is out most of the time. He is very considerate and quiet as well.

We believe we are easy to communicate with and available to reach as needed throughout your visit.

We love this property because it is easy to get everywhere by car, train or bus. We discovered that the Cape Ann Transit has a Gloucester Thatcher Road bus line that stops nearby next to Dunkin Donuts and Walgreens and will take you to Good Harbor Beach for a dollar or two, so you don't have to worry about beach parking filling up or paying the daily parking rate. You can also walk to the downtown beaches and the public beach in front of the Beauport Hotel. We like taking the nearby train to Rockport to also avoid issues with parking and visit their cute shops, restaurant and theater and music events. The Cape Ann museum is also wonderful to walk to a few blocks away.

There are also many local events in Gloucester that are fun. Calendar highlights include the following.
Winter bird watching, museums, Hammond Castle, quiet retreats and holiday events
Summer Farmers Markets in all of the North Shore Towns including Gloucester.
June Cape Ann Artisans Spring Studio tour
July Gloucester Block Party and Annisquam Sea Fair, Fireworks, Gloucester Garden Tour, Concerts at the Bandstand on Sundays and Rockport Chamber Music Festival and Jazz Festival happening into August in Rockport
August Gloucester Sidewalk Bazaar, Waterfront Festival and other North Shore events nearby.
September Gloucester Schooner Festival, Trails & Sails, and Kite Day
