WELCOME TO NETTLES ISLAND GATED BEACH COMMUNITY!!

A family favorite for generations because it offers something for ALL ages in a relaxing, safe environment! Treat yourself to a relaxing, vacation in sunny Florida!

The Lazy Pelican is a beautiful, spacious 2 bedroom that sleeps 6 people. It is located in the center of the island and offers many amenities! Great parking capable of fitting two cars and a golf cart! As you walk up the steps, you are welcomed by a living room with vaulted ceilings and large windows that bring in plenty of natural light! Large dining room with a table that seats 4 with 3 additional seats and an open-concept, full kitchen to cook your favorite treats. The bathroom offers a walk-in shower. The master bedroom has a king size bed, memory foam cooling mattress for a comfortable sleep. The second bedroom has a full-over-full bunk beds with memory foam mattresses.

Patio is lined with Silver Bismark Palm Tree adding privacy as you cook on the grill and dine outdoors in the beautiful Florida weather!

** Golf Carts available for rent through Jensen Beach Golf Cart Rentals.

The property was just as listed, very spacious, well stocked with all the necessary kitchen and bathroom supplies. The owners were very helpful and check in was a breeze. The location is very close to great shops and restaurants and best of all a hop skip away from a beautiful private beach.

Family vacation

The lazy pelican had everything we needed. Communication with the owner was excellent! I would recommend others looking for a peaceful vacation to consider this rental!

Wonderful stay!

Everything was perfect. The home was great and was stocked with a lot of things we didn’t expect. The amenities on Nettles Island were great with tennis, pickle ball and an amazing pool. We were visiting our son and grandkids and look forward to staying here every time we’re in town.

Perfect!

The Lazy Pelican was a terrific property! Ill start by saying that the island is quaint and peaceful and is perfect for families with small children. My daughter is 13 and had a great time visiting the pools and shopping. Everything you need is within 5 miles and there was absolutely no traffic so getting around was a breeze. The home was as described. It was clean and well furnished. The rooms were very bright with plenty of windows and nice decor. The deck space on this unit along with the open floor plan made it perfect. An all around great place to rent and vacation. We had a blast and i am already checking dates for next year!

Cute and convenient

Well kept and stocked ! Cute and comfortable! Updated , very nice kitchen. The community has many amenities, ...would be great for family with young children! We enjoyed walking to the causeway ,watching the sunset and the fishermen. Thanks so much!

Mini vacay

The Lazy Pelican was comfortable and spacious for 4ppl and a small pet. Kitchen was fully stocked with utensils and dishes etc. Good water pressure and A/C, very cute neighborhood. Easy access to private beach,(across from Ocean drive) pool, breakfast area and rec facilities. We had a couple questions and contacted Brenda (Owners mom), she responded very promptly, and it was a pleasure meeting her. She gave us a little history of Nettles Island. Would def return, we all had a great time, wish our stay was longer. - Good Italian food at Surfside on Ocean Drive :)

A Gorgeous Getaway!

We booked this property pretty last minute, as we had an unexpected change in our travel plans. We were so happy with this beautiful place, it was perfect for our family of 4, and we were so lucky it was available! The kids loved the bunk beds, and having access to both pools, the beach, and the activities center, there was no shortage of things to do. It was very clean and inviting and a super simple check in/out process, as well. The owners were very quick to respond when contacted with questions and helpful with recommendations. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in this cozy cottage, and will definitely be keeping this in mind the next time we are vacationing in this area! Thank you Phil and Desiree!

Great experience!!!!!!!!

My cousins and I came down to nettles to visit my grandmother and stay for the week, so much better than a hotel, the place was spotless and they had everything I needed to go to the beach and pool including towels, hats, beach chairs etc. everybody is very friendly, there’s a nice secluded porch with a umbrella, air conditioning was so refreshing after being in 90-100 degree weather! Phil was such a nice guy and checked on me during the week to make sure I was happy and really made me feel like we were at home! Whenever I had questions about anything he would respond right away. I will definitely be back! Thank you again!

The Best Hosts Ever!

Perfect home in a perfect setting for us! Phil, Desiree & Pam treated us like family during a very stressful time. We had discovered mold in our condo and were unable to stay there until the remediation was complete. When we learned that our contractor needed more time, Phil graciously extended our stay at the same rate even though this area has moved into "season" which demands a much higher rate. Pam, who lives on Nettles Island, even offered to pick up & dry our laundry when their brand new dryer died. Who does that! Cute, light filled renovation - extremely comfortable & sparkling clean with every kitchen appliance anyone would ever need. You also can't beat Nettles Island for fun and ocean relaxation. I'd rate everything an extra star if I could!!!

Perfect!

We had last minute mandatory evacuation orders from Tampa for hurricane Ian and all hotels / properties were completely booked up. Being 9 months pregnant this caused extreme stress in itself, then add having nowhere to go. Luckily we found Phil and Desiree’s place and words could never express the relief! Not only did they accommodate our last minute need for somewhere stay, they went above and beyond with communication and ensuring we were well taken care of the entire time. It was even nicer to arrive to such a beautiful and quiet area given all the chaos leaving our home. The place itself is very well kept, clean and up to date! The community is equally as perfect. We couldn’t have asked for a better home away from home or for better hosts! Thank you would never be enough but it’s a start! Thank you!!!! We hope to be back soon for a very REAL, well planned vacation after our little boy arrives.

The Lazy Pelican Experience

We enjoyed this rental property immensely. It was spacious, clean and had many new appliances. Everything was, as shown in the rental advertisement. The owner was extremely helpful with any of our needs and checked in regularly to make sure we had what we needed. He even allowed us to stay a couple extra days since the place was not rented. We expecially enjoyed the location because it was halfway between the ocean and inter-coastal waterway, basically the pools. The island grocer was right there for our mediate grocery needs. Especially breakfast and coffee if we wanted it. We spent the majority of the time outside between the deck, the pools and the ocean. Looking forward to next year, will certainly again attempt to rent this property.

Great stay for fam with young children

Rented the house for 9 days in March. We have been coming to Hutchinson Island for many years, but this was our first stay on Nettles Island. We were fortunate to find Phil and Desirees place for our stay. We have 2 young children (both under 4), so convenience to sand and water and the ability to cook meals in a nice place was a priority. We found both and then some with this home. The house has been updated with what seems like new everything (floors, kitchen, beds etc) and has a nice open plan for our little ones to move about without any hazards. We used the golf cart to get around every day which was a huge perk. The hosts were super nice, very responsive and accommodating to any question or request we had. We will definitely look to stay here again in the future.

My husband and I are very familiar with the cold, snowy, winters in Ohio! After high school, my husband left Ohio to serve in the United States Marine Corps where he traveled many places settling in Virginia. With the Virginia cold winters (not nearly as cold as Ohio), a growing family and a desire to spend more time with family, we seized the opportunity to visit our parents and grandparents at Nettles Island during the long Christmas breaks! Nettles Island is a hidden gem that the family fell in love with just like my husband did as a child. We wanted to continue to share this hidden gem with our children (...and one day grandchildren) for many years to come!

My husband has been visiting Nettles since he was a child! He has fond memories of fishing off of his grandparents dock for hours on end with his brothers! A favorite destination for many generations! We want our children and one day our grandchildren to find their Nettles Island Joy!
