The Water’s Edge at Garfield Bay

We are sorry to hear you were not happy with your stay. We try very hard to provide a well maintained and well equipped lake house for families and their guests to enjoy. Unfortunately, during your stay a water line to the house partially broke underground which affected the water pressure and caused one of the toilets (in one of four bathrooms) to stop working. We did have a repairman scheduled to be at the house first thing the next morning, but you opted to do the repairs yourself before the repairman could arrive. We did compensate you for your time and trouble and for the inconvenience. I offered to refund your payment if you were unhappy with the house and wanted to find another property – it was not suggested you leave. In regards to the door lock and dishwasher, the lock was an electronic passcode model and had been newly installed three weeks prior to your stay – it was in perfect working order when you arrived at the house as that was the door used to enter. The repairman stated excessive force being applied to the door caused the lock to break. Nothing was found to be wrong with the dishwasher. This particular style dishwasher requires the power button to be pushed once to power the unit on and a second time to start the washing cycle. It appears you may not have been operating it correctly. according to the repairman. We have not received similar reports from other guests but apologize if you were not able to use it. In short, the water pressure was an unfortunate circumstance and I feel we did everything within our power to ameliorate the situation. For this reason, we were quite surprised to see this review.
