Sea Glass is a one-of-a-kind, saltbox style home boasting 200 feet of private oceanfront property for you and your family to explore and reconnect! Owners Roy and Rhonda are glass artists, and you will find their unique and stylish décor throughout the home. Situated in the small Maine town of Prospect Harbor, you will find Sea Glass to be quiet and serene, with the availability of adventuring to quintessential Maine villages such as Corea and Winter Harbor.
The Sea Glass property boasts plush bedding, comfortable furniture and local art. Along with the typical living space, the entire third floor is an art studio, game area and free space so that renters can make the most of their visit on the Maine coast. While enjoying Sea Glass after dark, you will find little light pollution, a serene location, and Petit Manon lighthouses shining in the distance.
With a stocked kitchen and prime location, you can enjoy seeing the sunrise or sunset from the deck with your morning coffee or evening meal; often seeing local lobster boats going and returning from their day. Also included is a Weber gas grill, “smokeless” fire pit with wood, and a Petanque (similar to Bocce) court on property. With these added amenities you can make the most of your stay at Sea Glass without having to leave the property!
If you do choose to leave the property, Schoodic peninsula is an ideal area for shopping, restaurants, hiking, biking, kayaking, and you can even take the conveniently located Ferry to Bar Harbor! The opportunities are endless during your stay at the Sea Glass Property!

Wonderful Maine Getaway

Sea Glass Cottage is a real treat! Tucked away along the harbor’s waterway and located close to Acadia’s Schoodic Peninsula, this home was a cozy & perfect place for our family of five (adults) to enjoy all the beauty of Maine. We did not want to leave. Many thanks to Roy & Rhonda for sharing their home.

Great Family Home

Amazing views from just @ every room in the house! Easy to find and perfect spot for a week away. We loved the local amenities and also the easy drive to Bar Harbor. One of the view homes where listing pictures don’t do it justice - really beautiful scenery!

Spectacular Tranquility!

This is the way Maine should be experienced! The Sea Glass house is located right on the water with every amenity you could want. Enjoy amazing views from every room and the sound of the waves and buoy chimes - recommend sleeping in the upstairs room that has the ensuite. The property manager Ashley is quick to respond to any question and made sure that we were settled in. Just a note - the lockbox is located on the post of the front porch. Just in case you arrive after dark like we did! LOL! If you can pull yourself away from the beautifully decorated house and peaceful back yard, you'll find that the location is only a 50 minute drive to Acadia Park & Bar Harbor but the trails in Winter Harbor are closer - especially Schoodic Point which is a must see! Restaurants close early so drive to Ellsworth (37 min) and find the Union River Lobster Pot - you'll be glad that you did! We enjoyed evenings under the incredible stars as we lit a campfire in the fire-pit each night. Rhonda & Roy are so generous to share their gorgeous home which is designed to help you unplug and relax - and they make you feel very welcomed. This house is a gem! Highly recommend!

Wonderful memories on the Schoodic Peninsula!

The property was beautiful, and very relaxing. Perfect for some wonderful memories and to celebrate a 50th anniversary for my parents! Nicely equipped with everything we needed to be comfortable and take full advantage of the tranquil setting. Outdoor grill, lobster pot and burner for our own lobster boil, fire pit, and fully furnished house full of games, books, and puzzles. The art studio was a fun hangout and the setting on the waterfront was perfect. The Schoodic peninsula is a quiet gem on the main coast. Thank you for sharing your wonderful property to create some wonderful memories!

Dream Opportunity!

This was certainly much more that we expected! This couple was so generous with their things, especially the art studio and supplies. We spent each evening painting a scene on wooden cubes we brought along to record our memories. The house was masterfully decorated and supplied. You could see the artistic touch in everything. The windows and views were spectacular. The waterfront fire pit and deck was a lovely evening and morning coffee spot. This truly was a dream come true! Thank you for your generosity and sharing your special place!

Great Home!

We absolutely loved our week at this beautiful, modern but charming house. Yes, it is as beautiful as the photos depict. The kitchen is thoughtfully well supplied with cooking gear. We cooked in every night, often with food we found at local farms. The house is bright and sunny. The internet is reliable. When we had a minor question, Ashley was quick to respond. Yes, its quiet. And isn’t that the point? Everything here is first rate.

Fantastic trip!

We really enjoyed our time at Sea Glass Cottage! We explored all of Acadia including Schoodic peninsula, we did make the trip to Bar Harbor twice because there wasn’t much open near the cottage in terms of restaurants. We made our own fresh lobster and were thrilled with the cottage amenities that helped us do this! We made the trip to the Granite gallery bc we loved the sponge holder, thanks for that tip!! The only thing of concern is that no pets doesn’t mean pets aren’t in home. There was definitely pet fur, but nothing an allergy pill daily didn’t help with. If you’re really allergic this may be something to consider. We had a great trip! Thank you for sharing your home!!

Peaceful Slice of Heaven

We didn’t want to leave! There is a lot of love in this house. Little details like reading lamps for all the living room chairs, a fire pit on the rocky beach with 6 chairs to enjoy with friends or family, or in our case, just the two of us making s’mores and looking at the Milky Way. A great place to write or read or make leisurely meals with ocean views outside every window. Loved this house. ❤️

Gorgeous and private cottage for the ultimate Maine Experience

Just spent 8 nights with a group of friends at this absolutely stunning property. It's private, well appointed, and beautiful - situated right on the ocean and feeling quintessentially Maine. Each morning we awoke to the sunrise and views of the lobster boats rolling quietly through outside our windows. Each bedroom felt like a suite - with dedicated bathrooms for each (if you choose to use them that way!). Hosts and owners were so kind and communicative, helping us book a memorable fishing tour in Bar Harbor, and left us all the fixings for a night around the fire - wood, wine, marshmellows and sticks to let us live our Adult Camp dreams. Do plan on a bit of a hike to the park - but didn't dampen our spirits at all. Could not recommend this property enough - Five Stars!

Great location for a getaway!

This property was the perfect spot for our family vacation. We wanted to really get away and relax. Bar Harbor is close enough for a day trip but not so close that the area is overrun with people. The owners left great suggestions for local activities and we loved getting to know the area. Wish our stay had been longer! It’s such a paradise!

A relaxing getaway

This is a gorgeous property in Prospect harbor. It has all the amenities and is on the water. Our family enjoyed our stay. The only thing to consider are that it is an hour from Bar Harbor requiring driving if you’re doing a lot in Acadia. That said, Schoodic point is very close. Also, the area doesn’t have a lot of food options - it is a beautiful, quaint town, which is very different from the bustling bar harbor. We cooked for a few days, which we didn’t anticipate at first, but was fun in this fully stocked kitchen.

Fabulous home on the water!

This rental is so beautiful and comfortable! The view of the water from every room is stunning, and the house has everything we needed for our vacation! It is a bit of a drive to Bar Harbor and the Mt. Desert side of Acadia, but other than that it exceeded our expectations in every way. On the few days we didn’t make the hour drive, we took our host’s recommendations and found plenty of fun things to do in the area. It was the perfect house for our summer vacation and I’m grateful for the memories my family and I made during our stay!

This property put our vacation over the top!!

This was our first trip to Maine. With 3 adult children- ages 27, 30, 34, our family of five wanted to experience Bar Harbor and spend our vacation in Acadia National Park. Although this property was about an hour from Acadia, we decided we couldn’t pass on this beautiful home on the water in Prospect Harbor. Although we DID spend time in Bar Harbor and did some hiking in Acadia, both of these locations proved to be extremely overcrowded. Thankfully, the owners of this property left suggestions of places to hike and things to do in the small towns near their home. Their suggestions were golden! We LOVED their hiking suggestions and loved exploring Winter Harbor and Corea. These small harbor towns are gems! This home overlooks Prospect Harbor, and every room overlooks the water. We slept to the sound of the ocean waves rolling onto the shore. We woke to the local lobster fishermen pulling their traps, and the chirps of little birds in the trees surrounding the home. Every room in this home is pristine and is decorated beautifully. It’s an outstanding property. Ashley, who oversees this property, is delightful. We were coming from Florida, so we had a lot of questions. Ashley was very prompt in returning emails with answers to our questions. She is wonderful! If we vacation in Maine again, we will rent this home. We are so grateful for our experience!

Absolutely amazing !!!!

We loved our stay ! Location was perfect, near the Schoodic Peninsula . The view from the property was stunning! Every room had a spectacular view ! House had everything we needed. Host had lots of useful information about the region which was very helpful!!! Lobsters- store 10 min away , house has everything you need to cook them !!!! Highly recommend this property !

I've lived in Maine most of my life and have been involved in tourism and property management for as long as I can remember. Together with my family, we have built a booming property management business including but not limited to estate services, private events, vacation rentals, housekeeping services, grounds work, construction projects and much more! We also have an award-winning chef available for private events and a massage therapist available to bring her services to you at your rental!

When I'm not working, I'm balancing being a wife and mother to 3 young boys. We enjoy spending our days at the beach or lake, swimming and searching for treasures, camping, hiking, exploring new places or making memories with our friends.
