Back on the VRBO market! We took the 2024 year off so I could enjoy my sabbatical and now we are back and ready to host!

This beautiful home sits on over 2 acres of land with more than 1,000 ft of riverfront access on Gunnison River, and Clarke stream on the other side. Beautiful paradise awaits! This very private house sits at the end of the road - most people don't even realize there's a house back there!

With five bedrooms and three bathrooms, this house comfortably fits the needs of 10 people. Downstairs guests can be entertained watching TV in the living room or dining room. In order to provide better access to some of our tenants, we remodeled the downstairs den, converting it into a fantastic bedroom w/walk in closet - brand new king size bed. There is ample seating and amazing views from the dining area next to the full kitchen. We recently upgraded the fridge/freezer, and now have a new flat top stove!

A gigantic backyard deck will fulfill your needs for relaxing comfort while listening to the water flowing. You are surrounded by water. This house sits on a peninsula which provides amazing fishing opportunities and an undeniably serene experience.

Information you might find helpful:
One bedroom is downstairs, all four other bedrooms are located upstairs.
We provide a starter supply of toilet paper and paper towels.
There is a propane & charcoal grill outback - sorry no firepit as Gunnison has spent the majority of the last few years in drought and under fire bans.
There are 8 plastic outdoor chairs and a table on the deck.
There is a round wooden table and 3 benches riverside.
Plenty of room to park your trailer.
We are located in a neighborhood right next to the free RTA bus system - hop on for a free ride to and from Crested Butte!
We are located on a great trail system - walk or ride all the way to town!

Second time staying, will stay again!!

This was our second time staying here, and it was as wonderful this time as it was the first time. The addition of another bedroom was awesome. It is very well equipped, and the location cannot be beat!

Charming house

This was a wonderful stay. The house had plenty of room for our group, and we loved the location right on the river. We even had some deer come visit through the yard. Would absolutely stay here again.

Kitchen was Nice and adequately stocked. New cooktop. On the river and a creek. Fire pit by the river. Big bedrooms. Big living room and dine. Yard is enormous. I think it’s on more than an acre. Bring your fishing poles and tubes.

Great Stay!

The house was perfect- we had everything we needed. The property is perfect for privacy. Our kids enjoyed the stream and skipping rocks in the river. Gunnison has a lot to offer for hiking, fishing and sightseeing. Thank you for a lovely stay. Our family made alot of memories we will cherish forever.

Extremely relaxing

We had a fantastic time at the Chatto house. We enjoyed everything about the house and the area. Plenty of wild life just outside the door and just a couple of steps and you are at the Gunnison river. Highly recommend.

Exceptional house on the river

Pictures don't do this place justice. We stayed here for a ski trip and couldn't have asked for a more quaint place to stay. Easy drive to the town and Crested Butte. Plenty of space in this house and the view of the mountains and river was great. Lindsey is a great host to work with

Mountain house with a little sophistication

Our family enjoyed everything about this rare find in Gunni! We have stayed in many many places and this one checked all the boxes - comfort, ease, accommodating for all age groups. The river and the brook are beautiful on both sides. Bedrooms are fabulous. Beds comfy and even though the kitchen is older, it is clean and fully stocked for a large family gathering.

Peaceful spot on the river

My family of 4 plus mother in law enjoyed 3 great nights at this home over the 4th of July. The house has 5 large bedrooms, which were perfect for our group. In contrast to other places we’ve stayed, the thoughtful hosts provided fans in each room and plenty of towels. Check in was a breeze. And the location is fantastic! The running water from the creek and river and all the area birds provided a relaxing backdrop. The house has a great location - close to Gunnison and an easy drive up to CB. We enjoyed an incredible wildflower hike in CB and a day of SUP and splashing in Blue Mesa reservoir. Definitely recommend this home. We’re missing the calming sounds of nature now that we’re back in Denver!

Perfect Gunnison/Crested Butte location!

Just finished staying a week at this great home. Tons of space and room. Fully stocked with things we needed. Comfy chairs, table, and beds. It was the most convenient base location for our family. 7 minutes to town to get supplies and see the Cattleman’s Rodeo, easy drive to Almont/Taylor River and Crested Butte. My husband and son took the rental car 2 days to go fishing so we took advantage of the awesome free Gunnison-CB bus. Picks up and drops off at the Tall Texan stop which was a super easy walk from the house. Speaking of walking distance, Garlic Mike’s was nearly right across the street. They have live music Fridays and Saturdays. Perfect trip!

Perfect Peaceful Getaway

We were looking for a quiet place to relax in the Gunnison Valley, and stumbled upon this gem. Our experience could not have been more perfect! The house is warm and inviting, has every amenity, and was incredibly clean. Deer visited the property and surrounding area on several days. The soothing sound of the river was so very peaceful. And the star gazing in October was absolutely phenomenal. Close enough to Gunnison to run into town for groceries or restaurants. Far enough out of town to feel like you're in your own secluded paradise. We are already looking forward to going back!

You will love it!

We stayed for four days and have ZERO complaints. The house was clean, very spacious, and everything as advertised. Only 5 minutes from Gunnison and beautiful. The river runs on the property and gives you access for relaxing and fishing if desired. No worries. Highly recommended.

Beautiful Property!

We absolutely loved this property! The house was spacious and clean. We loved the big back yard and river access. My son caught a brown trout right there on site. Everything was as listed and we would definitely stay here again.

Great place and host!

Everything about the place was accurate and made for a great stay for our group of motorcycle riders. Especially enjoyed the outside deck and grill. Gist was very helpful and responsive. Will be back!

Tranquility on the River

We were looking for a quiet mountain house near water for a peaceful vacation with our kids and grandkids, and this house is the most amazing ever! It sits right on the Gunnison River, so fishing was on the agenda as well as drinking coffee on the deck, grilling dinner, watching the boys play soccer on the spacious lawn, and we even saw deer and other wildlife each day. The house was sparkling clean, had an amazing kitchen supplied with everything imaginable, and our host Lindsey made check in / out so easy. We hope to make a summer trip again next year.

Relaxing River Retreat

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property. It is big, clean, and well-appointed with everything you need. We relaxed out by the Gunny everyday, and our pups had plenty of room to run and play. The property is in a great location as it's close to town and a short drive to CB. We highly recommend this place!!

We Love Gunnison

We've been going to Gunnison since I was a baby and I graduated for WSC. It's tradition for us to go every summer. We are always trying to find VRBO's to stay in as a family. This one fit us perfectly. The property was amazing, the river in the backyard allowed us to fish whenever we wanted.

Perfect Host; Perfect Property

6 adults, 5 children, and 1 dog... It was a perfect getaway! My son turned 7 and we were celebrating with 2 other families. The host was the most hospitable and most accommodating owner we have ever rented from and the property was PERFECT! We had the best time and made so many memories that will last a life time. Gunnison Getaway

The property location was perfect for us; convenient, private and very beautiful. The house was roomy, and very well set up for us. We had 6 people and were very comfortable. This was a great experience for us and will likely stay again on our yearly Gunnison getaways!
