High Tide Top Floor Unit B Avon NC

High Tide is a perfect place for your next beach vacation. It is a top floor rental unit. We live on the bottom floor, Unit A, "Low Tide." We have a small family of 4 and our dog Daisy. It is located in Avon, North Carolina in the Hatteras Colony neighborhood. In just a three minute walk, you will be able to enjoy the wide open, uncrowded beautiful beaches. High Tide is conveniently located near a variety of restaurants, coffee shops, ice cream shops, and also our local grocery store. The famous Avon, Pier is just a short drive to enjoy some fishing, surfing, or just taking a walk to look for shells.

Get away for Hootens

Upon arriving cottage was clean and bright. The entire visit was comfortable The cottage was lacking nothing. Many times renters will scrimp on mattresses, but this place was top-notch. We will look forward to returning.

Comfortable and convenient!

The property was just as pictured. The bedrooms were large and comfortable with TVs in each room. Kitchen was well stocked (including All Clad pots!). Although the property is across Rt 12 from the beach, it was a short 5-10 min walk to the beach. The location is perfect for day trips to either end of the island. Great stay!

Perfect Getaway

We enjoyed our stay at High Tide. Very comfortable cozy accommodations. Beds slept wonderfully!! stocked kitchen for easy meal prep when we cooked. Great central location to everything you might want to do while in Avon. Kevin our host was timely to reply to our questions. Checking in and out was a breeze! Definitely would book another trip here!

Clean and inviting

We were impressed with how clean the unit was. Check in and communication were also on point. Had some doubts on location but despite being next to 12 it was quiet and comfortable. Would definitely book this unit again, great experience.

Enjoyed our stay

This is a nice spot in a great location, walking distance to the beach, multiple restaurants, and grocery store. The house has everything you need and is very clean and organized. Highly recommend!

Wonderful stay right by the beach

We had the best time at High Tide! The space was perfect for us, family of 5 with a teenager and two littles. Quick drive to the pier that was never overcrowded. Would definitely stay again!

We had a great stay at High Tide. The house is fantastic and clean. Conveniently close to the beach but also all that Avon has to offer, and a great jumping off point for exploring the entire shore.

Super clean place great value

This place worked great for my wife and two young adult kids. It is super clean and well equipped for example the kitchen has All Clad pots and pans. Has been recently been remodeled and nicely done. Great place all around!

Just what we needed

Wonderful place to stay! Very comfortable, clean and cozy. Big bedrooms with comfy beds, cute decor, great location - close to beach and shops, food, etc. Owners that live downstairs are a sweet family, and very accommodating. We definitely hope to book again on our next Hatteras trip!

Back to paradise

This is our second time staying here- We have stayed in Avon each of the last 3 years for our family trip. We only didn’t stay in this wonderful home due to a much larger group than normal last summer (2022). That being said, we were so happy to be going back to what my kids simply call “the round house” and in fact this time they also called it “home”. That is exactly what this place is, a place that is cared for, extremely well kept, clean, and simply has everything you want. Large beds, a lovely relaxing space, tv’s, kitchen (has it all), outdoor showers. What we love the most is the easy walk across the street, and an easy walk to the beach. In the welcome Binder the owners provide they let you know to look out for the colorful fish to the public walk way to the beach, my kids remembered and were so excited to find it again, as were WE! I could go on and on, THIS PLACE IS PARADISE. Walking to everything you need LITERALLY! Imagine being on a much needed vacation that is quite and relaxing, AND still being only a short walk to; restaurants, ice cream, coffee, bakery and the beach. This home is exactly that, A HOME! We will keep coming back! We love it!

Great place in Avon

We had a great stay at High Tide...the place was exactly as described. Great location and easy access to the beach and walkable / easy bike ride to shops/restaurants. Owners living below was not an issue and were friendly & helpful. I certainly recommend this property for a family that is spending their time out enjoying OBX and coming back to this great place to crash!

Clean, comfortable, not far from beach

We were very happy and lucky to find this rental for our first post-baby beach vacation with family. Was new to the site when we found it, but looks like with us and other guests they've been doing everything right. Easy check in and out. House is in great shape with nice amenities. Right next to the main road through town, but at least in our case, wasn't ever noisy enough to wake the baby and we still enjoyed sitting on the deck. Not beach-front but not a bad walk through a nice neighborhood and the beach wasn't packed even though the island was full of tourists. Very laid back. Restaurant next door and ice cream within walking distance. But we ate in a lot, bought seafood and used the grill. Owner had good tips in the welcome binder. Check out the Farmer's Market on Tuesday if you can! Mostly arts and crafts but also a vendor with great fruit and vegetable selection. Wine-tasting the day we were there. Great place to get souvenirs! Enjoyed ourselves and would recommend it!

Great spot!

We enjoyed walking across to the beach. Nice wide beach with other people, but not crowded at all. Avon has many activities and restaurants to offer. We also enjoyed traveling down to Ocracoke and up to Nag Head. This location worked well for us since it was centrally located. Having Muffins and Scones so close made walking to breakfast an easy choice! Home owners were on the bottom floor if we needed something but we didn’t! We had a great time!

Great place to stay for families

We had an awesome visit to High Tide. The property was very clean and well maintained. We had one small issue but Kevin was very responsive. We have 3 teenage daughters and there was plenty of room for everyone. The location was easy to get to and walking distance to ice cream and other goodies. I highly recommend High Tide as a place to stay.

Beautiful and comfortable vacation rental

We had a great week at High Tide. The rental property was clean and comfortable in every way, and the bedrooms are even prettier than in the photos. Lots of thoughtful little comforts and conveniences throughout, like USB ports in the bedside lamps, extra soft throw blankets, outdoor shower, and enough Adirondack chairs on the deck for everyone. Cute local eateries/shops within a quick walk or bike ride, and close to the beach and sound. The owner was communicative and helpful while still giving us complete privacy during our stay. Thanks for a great trip!

Great family stay on Hatteras Island

This was a great home base for our first visit to OBX/Hatteras Island. The space was super convenient for my family of four and everything was 100% pristine—neat as a pin. Kevin could not have been friendlier or more responsive. Beach is a short walk away. The house is on the corner of NC-12, which may not be for those wanting something off the beaten path, but for us it was convenient. Bottom line: If you're looking for a family-friendly stay on Hatteras Island, don't hesitate to book this one.

Avon stay

Our accommodations in Avon were just as advertised. Everything was clean and well organized. Check in was easy and parking spots were appreciated. We were familiar with the area because we have family in Avon. You can walk across highway 12 to the beach or drive a mile south to the Pier.

Home away from home

I will summarize for those people not willing to read it all, and then below will store as much as I can about this beautiful place! Summary: Rooms are perfect size, we have a 2 year older and a 4 year old at the time of this post. They loved it. The kitchen/ had all you need and more Utilities - laundry-outside shower to wash down from beach - TVs in all rooms :)/ perfect to tune in to your Netflix and what not to unwind from a day at the beach LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION- this was our first trip to outer banks- we considered nags head, kill devil hills/ THIS IS IT. This is your home away from home. Cross the street, walk 200 yards and you are at the public entry to the BREATH TAKING BEACH. THIS PLACE IS IT! Things to do- pub/bar/restaurants - ice cream shops, coffee, breakfast, wing shop, all walking distance/ put the kids in a stroller or wagon and be on your way- even walk a mile to the pier -it’s great to not see any chain restaurants (only 2- subway and dq) and that’s perfect - The house is perfectly situated to the beach and everything else/ we will be back/ you have the entire top level to yourselves- more than enough space. OK now the long stuff- we couldn’t decide and booked kind of late, my wife and I work busy jobs, and very stressful. We wanted something for our first trip in three years, and first ever with our kids to the beach. We couldn’t have asked got anything more. The home is just delightful. We opened the door, and the kids immediately just smiled, ran around, made a fun name for their home away from home, and were so sad (along with us) when we left today! :( Honestly, if you’re looking for that perfect weekend, week, month get away, don’t keep looking, this is it. It’s the top level of the home, and all you need l! 3 bedrooms all large rooms, with one on suite and a second full bathroom too. Nice relaxing couch, comfy spinning chair, carpet nice to just lie on next to couch after a long day at the beach! The beds; the dresser, showers, cleanliness, and the hosts providing us with a little bit of everything when we get there :) along with a binder with some more information for your stay! We could not have been any happier- we are back home now, and so sad to have left our home away from home. We loved it loved it loved it. My parents were meant to come but couldn’t, but we will come back with them: The area is perfect, quiet, relaxing and lively enough too! The beach was SO PERFECT - ENJOY!!!
