Fabulous house and location!!

We had 11 family members stay here, each with our own space. The common areas were spacious and conducive to hanging out and chatting. The kitchen right in the middle of it all allowed the cooks to be part of conversations. The outdoor seats and the patio table were lovely in the mornings, we had a wonderful time here!!!!!

Amazing week in Hermosa!

First, let me say that I love working w/Durango Colorado Vacations! They are friendly, responsive to any question or need, and just really great folks to work with! We've been using them for 4 to 5 years & their process is efficient and easy to work with. This year we booked our usual location, but the owner sold it within 60 days of our arrival. Jen worked with us to find another rental that was still available in the Hermosa area. It was a bit larger, but suited our needs - the Hermosa Mountain Hideaway is an amazing property! It is clean, extremely well stocked, had more than enough room for our family w/a game area for the children as well as living room, dining area had unbelievable amenities. We'll definitely rebook the Hermosa Mountain Hideaway for future annual family trips as long as it's available. We love the location because it's midway between Durango and Purgatory and perfect for us.

Our family/group of 7 had an amazing stay. We loved everything about the house and yard. It was spotless and we all slept really well. From the towels and bedding to the kitchen stock… it was overly accommodating. We don’t have a single complaint Thank you for a wonderful vacation stay. We’ll be back 🥰

Great house and location

This house has wonderful views and a great air conditioner, which we were so grateful to have! But when the nights cooled off we also loved the hot tub...it was sparkling clean, beautifully nestled under the trees and illuminated by lovely twinkle lights. The beds were very comfortable, the kitchen stocked with every small appliance you could want and the brand new sofa was comfy. When we required support from the management company, they were the best to work with.

Great house for big groups

The house was perfect for our group of 11. We used the kitchen for cooking meals everyday and were impressed that it had everything we needed. The house was clean and well cared for. We also liked the location just north of Durango. Not too far but also not too close so that you can enjoy the quiet of the outdoors with a great view. We hope to be back in the future. Highly recommend.

Great place for our family to spend a 5 day trip. Any issues were corrected immediately by the management company. Would highly recommend this home.

Family trip

Our stay was enjoyable, other than issue with the AC on the top floor not work. Kid had fun time playing the games at the house.

Christmas in Durango

Overall the property is a good property. Fantastic locatio.n. It was a well stocked house but showing signs of wear and tear. The barn doors in the master bedroom do not slide well and don’t seem to be installed correctly. There is also a bad smell from the water in the downstairs bathroom. Overall we did enjoy our stay here. The basement game room is a really great space.

We checked the water in the downstairs bathroom and did not find any smell. We will monitor it. Hermosa Hideaway

This is a Five Star property with excellent location and access. The amenities are excellent from kitchen utensils to ping pong. The management's responses were quick and minor issues were taken care of. (Plugged shower drain and an odor generated from a p trap.) Our group consisted of six senior citizens and one middle age man and for two days an 18 year old boy who cleaned our clocks at ping pong and air hockey. I mention this because of the floor plan that has a staircase which had issue with a couple that had a little trouble getting up and down. That, along with only one bathroom for three bedrooms or six people. The master suite had its own full bathroom taking care of two people. On the main level there is a full bathroom that took care of people using the combination laundry/bedroom and anyone needing to use it during the day. There were five people upstairs that had to get up more than a few times to use the hall bathroom toilet and found it occupied and made their way downstairs to the main level one. There is another full bathroom in the lower level but that requires more stairs and effort. Some people grow up living in a dirty and cluttered environment but our group is opposite of that. We take off our shoes near the door and pick up things that don't belong. We clean the sinks, tables and countertops along with sweeping up any spills. The wood floors are beautiful but very dusty, the carpet is of good quality but needs a thorough cleaning. The house is booked almost solid and gets some abuse from people that don't seem to care about leaving a mess for the next group. I'm sure management will do a deep clean when time allows. We had a wonderful stay making trips into Durango, Mesa Verde, Farmington and riding the narrow gauge railroad to Silverton. The hot tub was a great way to soothe the backs after long days of walking. Several members spent a few hours in the nearby hot springs spa. The patio allowed for late evenings of storytelling and star gazing. We cooked most of our meals and utilized the natural gas grill several times. The large dining table made a fine place to eat but a better place for card games and having fun. For future renters, be aware of the stairs and the placement of bathrooms. You will have a hard time finding a better place. Sincerely, Paul from Wyoming

This is a nice big house w/a beautiful view The downstairs bonus room w/workout equipment was an extra bonus. We were a party of 8 (4 retired couples) & never felt crowded The kitchen is plenty big w/2 islands. The problem we had was with how dirty it was There was caked mud on the stairs & stains on the carpeting. We could find no fresh vacuum tracks anywhere & a bra cup pad was on the floor by the desk in the main bedroom upstairs. We had to wash the bathroom mats & clean the vacuum cleaners (filters were black) before we could vacuum & clean. The windows were dirty with cobwebs inside & out Cobwebs on the kitchen island lights & ceiling fans. The outside grill was filthy w/wires hanging out of it & the starter didn't work. The hot tub had twigs & debris in it, so we didn't use it. No one cleaned the hot tub or did the yard the 2 weeks we were there. We were suppose to have early check in, but that didn't work. Turned out not to be a problem because the back door was unlocked and ajar. This house is in a great location and we loved the view. Just wish it was better maintained.

We ask guests to request an early check-in via the boarding pass link, and it’s only after we accept that request that the door code becomes active, allowing entry before the standard 4 PM check-in time. This property was perfect for our family vacation. We had 8 adults, 2 teenagers, and 2 kids and we were all able to have plenty of space to sleep and hang out. Both the front deck and back patio were beautiful and well-kept and we loved seeing deer on the property. The hot tub, putting green, and sand area were a hit, and watching the kids play with the mountains in the background was just an amazing experience. The house itself was very clean and fully stocked with anything and everything you might need for your vacation. We would highly recommend staying here! We didn’t run into a single issue and were so happy with our stay!

Perfect home for our family

We enjoyed Hermosa Mountain Hideaway immensely. The home was as described and pictured. Kitchen was well stocked in every aspect. The back patio, fresh mountain air, hot tub, and privacy were all appreciated. Communication with agent was helpful and timely. Would definitely rent again in the future.
