Love This Place!

This is my third or fourth time staying here and I love it! Such a beautiful house and beautiful location. Perfect spot right between Oakhurst and the gate to Yosemite. Is so quirt you'd never know you had neighbors. My favorite part is seeing the stars at night. It gets dark enough to see more than you would be able to even in Oakhurst. Can't wait to stay here again!

Comfortable and lovely stay

The house was amazing location and included everything you need. It was comfortable and loved the outdoor space too. I hope to come back someday!

Wonderful stay!

Would highly recommend staying here! Beautiful large house with massive kitchen and eating area. Great for big families. Front yard was amazing, lots of play time in the front yard. Great host! Would stay again!

Bass Lake/ Yosemite Gem

A wonderful venue for relaxing and enjoying the mountain environment. Lots of great amenities that we appreciated and enjoyed. We were a family of 6 and there was plenty of room to spread out. Would stay there again.

Loved It!

We loved staying here. It was easy access to shops and galleries in town. It's far enough away from Yosemite to avoid a lot of crowds, but close enough the drive to the park isn't bad at all.

Great Location to South Yosemite Entrance

The house was perfect for our two families. There was plenty of space to cook and hang out by the TV at night after our daytime adventures. And, of course, the hot tub was perfect after a day hiking.

The property had the amazing views and getaway vibe we were looking for!!

This was the easiest check-in and check-out process I've experienced! The hosts thought about everything, and were super helpful when we needed help in the area, unrelated to the property itself! 10/10 planning another stay at the SAME property! The snow was beautiful!

Great

It was a great place to stay with your family. The kids had a blast. There were a lot of fun activities to do around the home and toys and videos for the kids to watch at the home. We would definitely stay again.

This house was absolutely perfect! The kitchen was well-appointed, living room was comfortable and spacious, very nice beds, and all those windows with beautiful views! We had a bunch of turkeys in the front yard one morning, a family of quail along the driveway, and an owl hooted at us in the evenings. The house is close to town, but far enough away that there is no light pollution for star gazing - we even saw the northern lights! I would 100% stay here again

Lovely house

Everything was almost perfect, neighborhood, backyard, jacuzzi the only thing I can say the dishes have build up so as the kitchen fan and oven, needs like a good detail cleaning but other than that its a really nice place close to lake one hr drive to Yosemite, we really enjoyed this place

Great location to Yosemite

Great distance to town for groceries at Rarleys, dinner at EL Cids and donuts at Judy’s! More importantly nice reasonable 15 mile or so drive to South Yosemite entrance for hikes. Also drove to Sequoia and Kings Canyon national parks with a 1.5-2 hour drive for further hikes. Loved it! Only issue was hot tub didn’t work as we wanted but they tried to come and fix right away so communication was superb. Would love to come back again here!

Thank you Dan! We are so sorry the hot tub control panel decided to go out in the middle of your stay, we know that was a huge bummer for you all. We were unhappy about it as well, as we know you all were looking forward to it. Instead of just trying to fix that one, we have already replaced it with a brand new 6-7 person spa, its up and running beautifully! Hopefully you get the chance to use it on your next trip!

Great stay!

Photography trip with friends to Yosemite. House as advertised and very comfortable, a quiet but easily accessible area. Great dining table and comfortable living area couch. Much more experienced mountain road driver due to daily trips to the park. 1 hour to 1:15 drive to the Valley. Great roads with plenty of pullouts to let faster cars pass. Everything you need to cook or grill, but some great restaurants in town as well. Be sure to watch for the two quail arriving daily on the front lawn around 5:00.

The property was spacious and offered plenty of room for our stay. The kitchen was large and functional, and the living room was a comfortable size for gathering. The location was decent and convenient for exploring the area.The biggest drawback was that both bathrooms were in need of updating. The main tub/shower and the master shower felt dated and were not particularly appealing. While the flooring appeared to have been updated, the rest of the bathrooms, including the sink fixtures, showed their age. The bathroom door in our room also would not shut properly, which impacted privacy.We also had issues with temperature consistency throughout the house. The bedrooms were quite cold, while the larger living areas and kitchen were difficult to keep comfortable.The comforters and decorative shams in the bedrooms appeared dated and showed noticeable pilling and could benefit from being updated.Overall, the home had good space and potential, but some updates and maintenance would significantly improve the guest experience.

Starry Pines is a classic mountain cabin, and while we've made updates over the years, we understand some features may not match every guest's personal preferences. We appreciate your comments regarding the bathrooms, bedding, and the bedroom door, and we'll be reviewing those items with the homeowners as we continue making thoughtful improvements to the property. Regarding the temperature, the home is equipped with central air and heating, and we also wanted to mention that there is a separate wall-mounted thermostat that controls the propane fireplace, which can sometimes be mistaken for the home's main thermostat. If that was the case, it could explain the inconsistent temperatures. We only wish we'd heard from you during your stay, as our team would have been happy to help troubleshoot and get the home as comfortable as possible. Thank you again for your thoughtful feedback. We truly appreciate your suggestions and will continue improving while preserving the mountain charm that so many guests enjoy.

Great location but very dated and worn

Property has a great location and nice kitchen, but needs new furniture everywhere. Dining room table and chairs have scratch marks, many of the outdoor chairs have holes in them. Guest bed squeaked every time you moved and had no support. Bunk Bed did not feel safe or secure enough to sleep on top bunk. Needs some TLC.

Oh wow, we are so sorry to hear you only had a 2 star experience. That is probably the worst we have ever seen come through on VRBO! If we had known you were that unhappy with the accommodations, we could have found something else for your stay. While this family home does have a little bit "love", everything should still be in working order and comfortable. With the updated kitchen, the hot tub, and the great location, we feel this property is fantastic for the price. We do help manage several homes in the area, so if you are looking for something with no scratches (although we can't fully guarantee no scratches in a family home), please let us know and we can look to offer you one of our other properties in the area. However, be prepared to pay 3-4x the amount of money. We do feel that for the location and the amenities, this property provides some absolutely fantastic value for those wanting to visit both Yosemite and Bass Lake.

Wonderful stay

Had a great time at this property -had all the necessary things including ample entertainment options. Will book again. Location worked too, has close proximity to Yosemite’s south entrance.

Relaxing Getaway

Very nice house with lots of amenities to make it feel like home. Great bedrooms, living area, kitchen. A/C runs well and has a great hot tub. Very nice neighborhood with few lights around making for good star gazing. With three National Parks nearby, the house is centrally located between them. A very relaxing stay was had.
