Aloha Joe, we’re glad you enjoyed the views and found the condo comfortable. We do, however, want to clarify a few points in your review. You contacted us about the patio, and we immediately arranged for our housekeeper to return the following morning. When she arrived, she provided us with photos of the patio **before cleaning it**, and it was not in the condition described in your review as “a mess.” We were happy to have her clean it again, but that characterization was simply not an accurate reflection of its condition, particularly given that it had been cleaned the day before. We also want to address the tone of our interactions during your stay. While we are always happy to respond to legitimate concerns and do what we reasonably can to help our guests, your communications became increasingly demanding and, at times, disrespectful. We provided you with an early check-in as a courtesy, responded promptly to your concerns, and arranged for the patio to be addressed the very next morning. You mentioned being glad to “support the economy” during Kauaʻi’s recovery. We agree that supporting the island during a difficult time is meaningful, but that support should also come with some patience, understanding, and the aloha spirit. Unfortunately, that spirit was not reflected in our interactions with you. We appreciate your acknowledgment of the property’s exceptional views. Kauaʻi and the people who call it home have been through a difficult recovery, and we’re grateful for guests who visit with patience, kindness, and understanding as the island continues to rebuild. We also appreciate your note about the unit layout. The space is designed more like a spacious hotel-style studio with a kitchenette rather than a full apartment, and we try to describe it as clearly as possible so guests know what to expect. Your feedback helps us continue refining that description for future guests. Regarding the parking and resort fees, those are set by the resort and unfortunately are outside of our control, but we always try to make sure guests are aware of them prior to arrival.
