Secluded Lakefront Chalet

This unique retreat has it all. A private beach, seclusion, and peace. The chalet welcomes you with a large stone fireplace, lake view rooms, and plenty of space.
Enjoy the sunset from the gazebo swing, walk our nature trails, kayak, host an event, the options are endless.

Beautiful yard, lots of space for yard games and outdoor gathering. Games are located in garage, please enjoy them!
Fire pit on beach!
Propane grill and accessories available.

Please feel welcome to bring your own water toys- kayaks, canoes, paddle boards, jet skis, boats. There is a public launch nearby.
We will provide 2 kayaks, 2 paddle boards and a pedal boat.
We have beach toys available for children, they’re located in the garage.
Plenty of space for beach volleyball or badminton- please bring your own equipment and nets.
Please bring your own life jacket protection, we will have limited adult and child jackets available in the garage.
Great location for fishing!

Wonderful bird watching location, there’s a a large Bald Eagle nest nearby to property.

We have wonderful hiking trails nearby. Highly recommended. If you’re interested in hiking please reach out and I will gladly share some of our favorites!

In addition to hiking, we’re closely located to some of the best mountain biking trails in the country! Again, please feel free to reach out for personal recommendations as well!

The property has beautiful mowed trails throughout, please feel welcome to enjoy them!

Shelly’s Chalet was the perfect stay for our large group. It truly came with everything in mind, not to mention clean and just so beautiful! Inside AND out. We didn’t even get to use the lake due to chilly weather and I’m still that excited about this place! Shelly was amazing at getting back to us in a timely and friendly manner. There was so much room for people to either spread out or to group together! I really can’t recommend this place enough!! Thank you Shelly!

Family Wedding Stay

Our extended family stayed at the Lakefront Chalet for our son's wedding. The location and facilities were excellent. Wish we could have stayed a few more days!

This Home Is Amazing

I cannot say enough about this home. It was not only clean and well stocked, but peaceful and relaxing. We had a small wedding ceremony on site and Aaron and Shelly were accommodating and kind. Do not hesitate to book!

Amazing!

Perfect place for a family reunion. Lots of space, quiet, serene, private beach, fire pit, hot tub and great sunsets! This place has it all. Hosts were great and very responsive.

Wonderful

The owners are clearly dedicated to making your stay a success. Everything was clean and comfortable. The sand was great for kids to play in. The multi air condition systems keep the house as cold as you want. Multiple refrigerators and an ice maker kept all our food and drinks ready to go. This is One of the rare places that is nicer in real life than even in the posting. Don’t hesitate to book for whatever vacation or event. Jackson and Ann Arbor and Chelsea are all close as well. I love this area of Michigan and this interesting and lovely home.

Amazing host and place!

Cannot say enough about Shelly and her husband- they totally make you feel welcome and are there for you if you need anything! Place was amazing even in a winter storm -6! Very spacious and warm for a family gathering. Would love to come back in the summer. Loved that you could bring your well behaved fur babies with you. Thank you so much Shelly and Aaron:). Excellent chalet in a beautiful setting to share with a group of family or friends

What a wonderful stay we had at the Grass Lake Chalet for our family celebration. The house was big and roomy and the furniture and fixtures were all in good condition. We loved the feeling of being in a big lodge and the very large great room fireplace was utilized every evening and ran very efficiently. We easily accommodated 30 people for a dinner on Saturday night by using the dining and great room. My family loves to cook and having two kitchens at our disposal was fantastic. We could easily prepare and serve brunch and dinner. A few of my family live near-by and were able to supply extras that we needed. The bedrooms were all lovely and five of them had fantastic views of the lake. The bathroom were well maintained as well, benefited by some recent remodels. It was a bit to chilly to enjoy the lake but we enjoyed many walks around the property and the lake area.. The lawn was perfect for outdoor games, and the children (and some adults) enjoyed a silly roll down the hill to the lake. Shelly was quick to respond to all my questions before and during our stay. If you have an opportunity to book this rental, do so. You won't be disapointed.

Very Nice Property for Multiple Families

While this wasn't a far getaway for our friend group, it was the perfect location to bring our friends together for a nice, relaxing getaway (five families in total with 13 adults and 7 kids ranging from 1-10 years old). The hosts were very responsive and answered all of our questions in a timely manner. The property was well maintained and clean, and had some nice charm around every corner. The view from some of the bedrooms and the back patio was gorgeous morning, day and night. There was plenty of room for kids to play, an array of outdoor games and water activities, and toys, books and games inside for all ages. There was plenty of fridge/freezer storage and it was nice to have three bedrooms connected to bedrooms and very close bathrooms to the other rooms. The last plus I will mention was the super simple checkout process. Although we cleaned up after ourselves, we didn't have to go out of our way to strip sheets and towels and doing anything crazy while packing to leave. Would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking in this area or just to get away.

Perfect event in a perfect place!

I could not be more pleased with the way our family reunion/80th birthday celebration worked out at this home. It is stunningly beautiful, family friendly, and so very easy to stay in. It accommodated our entire family, we used all seven bedrooms, as well as our local family who joined each day for our events. The view is gorgeous, the patio and yard were lovely for outdoor games, and the great room is huge. We had multiple meals with 20+ people in the dining room and kitchen. and everything worked out great. The bedrooms are so well done and comfortable, we don’t usually sleep this well away from home but the mattresses were obviously new and quite comfortable. The fenced in yard worked out well because we had one very small child with us and we felt safe with him outdoors. If you were thinking about renting this for your small event or family gathering, I highly recommend it. The owners, Shelly and Aaron, were fabulous. Super friendly and always available. Thanks for the memories!!

Awesome Weekend on the Lake

I would highly recommend this property. We had 7 families which included 8 very small children (ages newborn to 3). This house was perfect for a fun kid weekend over Memorial Day. Aaron and Shelley were awesome hosts. I had a ton of detailed questions ahead of time and Shelley was always happy to reply quickly and with detailed information. Upon a rrival, we had a couple of small items that needed repair or maintenance (nothing major) and Aaron was there within a couple of hours to fix it all. They went above and beyond to make our weekend special and memorable. The house itself is very well-equipped for kids (baby gates, a fenced in yard, pack and play provided, toys provided, and more). It was also fun for us adults! The patio was a great place to hang out and have some beverages once the kiddos were finally in bed. There was plenty of room for everyone. Thank you for having us!

The Grass Lake Chalet is a wonderful location. Easily accessible, yet in a peaceful setting. You have Ann Arbor just a 1/2 hour away, offering endless options. We have beautiful recreation areas nearby, offering trails for hiking, biking, and exploring.
The Chalet is located right on the water, and we provide kayaks, and paddle-boards, as well as pontoon rentals,
