Idyllic Breckenridge Chalet with deck, valley views and Starlink internet

Warm and cozy, this is the idyllic Colorado cabin in the woods. This three level chalet offers a bedroom and bath on each level providing space and privacy. Huge wrap around deck with a private hot tub that captures the stunning views down the valley. Located only a 15 minute drive from Breckenridge, you will be able to experience all the town has to offer while enjoying a peaceful retreat. The chalet is located within minutes of world class hiking (5 fourteeners within 30 minutes) and skiing. This home is used by the owners as a second home and tastefully appointed with custom made furniture and many amenities. Please note that the chalet is located at 11,273 feet (one of the highest homes in North America!) so if you are coming from out state, we highly recommend a short stay in the Denver/ Boulder area to acclimate to altitude before coming up to the chalet to minimize altitude sickness symptoms. As a reference, the town of Breckenridge is at 9,600 feet and the top of the ski resort at 12,998 feet. A 4x4 or AWD with snow tires is absolutely necessary during snow season (between October and May).

Please keep the doors to the deck closed at all times except for going in or out to prevent chipmunks from getting in. They are very hard to chase out
Thank you for informing us if a dog will be present prior to check in. Our oldest son is allergic to dogs and we need to plan for special cleaning.
Please follow the good neighbor guidelines in our house guide and limit consumption of alcohol. Alcohol and high altitude do not go well together.

Beautiful mountain chalet — stunning stay, but note the altitudeWe loved our stay — the house is absolutely beautiful and perfectly situated (only a short drive from Breckenridge). The deck and private hot tub with valley views made evenings unforgettable, and the radiant floor heating kept the place cozy. Plenty of space and thoughtful amenities (fast internet when you need it) made the house feel like a true retreat.One important note: the altitude is higher than you might expect. We did acclimate, but still experienced some shortness of breath during our stay — so plan accordingly (hydrate well, take it slow, and allow yourself time to adjust). You may also consider altitude supplements available locally or ask your doctor about medication in advance. We weren’t aware of these options beforehand, but a local kindly shared the advice with us.Communication with the owners was excellent. They were quick to respond when we needed them, and on our last day — after receiving over a foot of snow — they immediately arranged for a plow to help us get out safely. All in all, a gorgeous home with great amenities and attentive hosts. Highly recommend — just be mindful of the altitude and give yourself a little time to acclimate.

Beautiful home in a beautiful setting. We enjoyed our stay. The hosts were very welcoming and easy to communicate with. The home was clean and cozy- beautiful furnishings and the home was well maintained. The location was beautiful- but good to note it is about 25 minutes to drive into downtown Breckenridge and 4 wheel drive is a must. This is a great place to stay for a peaceful mountain retreat!

We had a great stay from start to finish. The location feels remote and quiet, yet it’s still an easy drive into downtown Breckenridge. The house has plenty of comfortable spots to relax, and the hot tub on the back deck has beautiful views.The beds and bedding were really cozy, the showers had great water pressure, and the kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed. We didn’t see any wildlife, but there were fresh footprints around the house each morning, which was fun to spot.Overall, an incredible home. We’d love to come back—none of us wanted to leave. Thank you for sharing it with us.

I had family visiting and we spent the weekend at the Chalet. It was truly wonderful and the most rejuvenating space for a weekend family trip -- we loved waking up to the quiet mornings and beautiful views, and we ate all our meals on the porch looking out over the mountains. The house also has fantastic hiking access (for all levels of experience) for anyone hoping to spend time on the trails! Check in/out was easy and the house exceeded expectations. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

Ski weekend at Breck

We had a wonderful stay! We arrived Friday and departed Monday. A short weekend getaway for some skiing. The fournof us had plenty of space and the drive to Breck was easy. Would definitely recommend and will stay again if possible!

Greet Stay!

Wonderful Holiday Weekend Home on Hoosier Pass 15 Min from Breckenridge

The home was even better than the pics. Beautiful views at 11K feet, very solidly built home. Foxes and other wildlife around the cabin. Heard a screeching owl one night. We did a hike that the owners recommended that started in the neighborhood 3-mile hike or you can go a lot further if you like. It was great! Also hike the 3-mile loop top of Hoosier Pass (fantastic views) it was wonderful! Several in our group hike the 14er, Quandary Peak. They had a great time! 5 minutes away. The cabin was fully stocked with everything you need for cooking, grilling, beds, and bath etc. Neighborhood is awesome! The hot tube was excellent! Great place to hang out! Hosted by Isabelle Shiffrin, the owner, was great to work with. She made it easy. Lots of space in the cabin. We were three couples each having their own floor and bath (Great digs!). Parking and garage were nice to have! We will come back here for sure!

blissful stay at mountain retreat

We really enjoyed our stay - host had everything we needed and was very communicative. Only slight drawback we had was the elevation- If your flat landers like us just a heads up. We all suffered a bit from the high altitude. Its also about a 20 minute drive into Breckenridge. We liked being out in the quiet, but for some may be a bit of a drive.

Fantastic mountain get away!

Outstanding chalet! My wife and I highly recommend this property for multiple reasons: 1) Great location in the mountains, yet still close to Breck! 2) Excellent home with all the vacation amenities you need. 3) Owners are very organized and extremely responsive – going out of there way to make the stay a good one. We plan to reserve this location again!

Amazing Home and Location

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Quandary Village. The home was absolutely beautiful, completely spotless, comfortable and the views from the back deck were spectacular. I can’t say enough positive things about our experience. We will definitely be back!

The location of this mountain property is perfect for a CO getaway in a wonderful and quiet neighborhood. Isabelle was a great host and everything you need for a cabin stay is taken care of. Would stay here again, for certain!

Absolutely beautiful!

The chalet was just as described- if not better. The location was perfect. Off the beaten path but not so far up the mountains that it felt treacherous to get there (with plenty of snow on the roads)! Plenty of space for our party of 6 adults and thoughtfully stocked. The hot tub was immaculate and felt great after long days of hiking in the snow. And the hosts were informative and easy to contact. I would absolutely recommend this property for a relaxing stay in a beautiful part of Colorado!

Fantastic stay!

Our family loved this chalet! We have two kids & a small dog and it was perfect for our family. The unit was very clean and extremely well-stocked. The kitchen had all the necessities to cook from home, there were ample towels and lots of little extras. The welcome book was a great help. The hot tub was clean and wonderful to soak in after a long day of hiking. Every night we had clear skies perfect for star gazing. The location of this place is perfect. You're a short drive into town but far enough away to feel completely submerged in nature. We saw a ton of wildlife including two moose. You can hike the best trails right from the chalet - If you reference hiking in the welcome book, it will direct you to a trail up to crystal lake and beyond. No crowded parking lots, no crowds on the trail, just nature. Finally, Isabelle is very detail oriented and very quick to respond. She was a wonderful host. We cannot say enough great things about this place and cannot wait to return.

Aaron and Isabelle moved to Colorado from Washington DC in 2017 for their love of the great outdoors. Isabelle is originally from the south of France and spent many of her childhood vacations travelling to a quaint mountain chalet in the French Alps. Aaron grew up in Indiana but learned skiing at a young age in the Rockies. They live in Denver but love coming to Breckenridge to hike and mountain/ road bike in the summer and of course ski in the winter. They have two boys aged 9 and 4 who are very active and curious about nature. They look forward to sharing their home with you so you can experience all that Breckenridge and the wonderful valley have to offer!

This property provides access to a world class ski resort in the winter and several of the most popular 14ers in Colorado in the summer. It is just 15 minutes from the town of Breckenridge and yet provides a peaceful and quiet retreat. The house is tastefully appointed with high end and custom furniture and will make you feel immediately at home when you enter. Radiant floor heating provides additional comfort in the winter. Altitude guarantees fresh temperatures throughout the summer. The house is off the grid with a well and septic tank! If our guests need to work, they have high speed internet (150+ Mbps) allowing them to stay connected if they wish.

Each room and bathroom is on a separate level providing separation and privacy. Two separate living room allow some people to enjoy TV while others may enjoy a fireplace and a book or board games. The wrap around deck is big and can be enjoyed with long chairs, chairs and a table in the summer as well as a private hot tub with valley views throughout the seasons. The chalet is located just 5 minutes away from the Quandary Peak trailhead and 30 minutes from other popular 14ers in the valley.
