'Too Qute! Beach Cottage' is the quintessential beach cottage!

'Too Qute! Beach Cottage' accommodates up to ELEVEN (11) family members maximum in four bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms.

Please note that we rent to mature, respectful and responsible families only. If you are looking to rent a home to host a party, stay up late and disturb our neighbors, please continue your search as this is not the place for you. If you are a quiet family or group of friends that will treat our home, the contents and our neighbors with respect, please let us know that in your inquiry and we will gladly welcome you to stay as our guests. Thanks in advance for your understanding and cooperation.

As you can see in the floor plans on the Photos page of this listing, there are two bedrooms located on the first floor. One first floor bedroom has a queen bed and the other first floor bedroom has a full bed with a twin bunk bed above. There are also two bedrooms on the second floor. One second floor bedroom has a full bed. The other second floor bedroom, which we call the Master Bedroom, has a queen bed with a twin day bed and pull out twin trundle bed beneath. The Master Bedroom has views of Lake Michigan and the North Beach.

There is an outdoor front patio, a front screened in porch as well as a spacious rear deck and patio area. There is a Weber propane gas grille on the back patio. There are also partial lake views from the back deck.

The cottage is cute and quaint. It reminds us when we were young and our parents rented a cottage in the neighborhood back in the late 1960's and early 1970's. There is still some of the original beaded board wall and ceiling panelling. The cottage and contents have a lot of quirky charm and character that you can not find in today's new construction beach homes. We feel that it is the quaint, and somewhat modest interior decor that makes our cottage 'Too Qute'! We hope you agree.

Due to a change in the law this year there is no longer parking available on Avery street unless you have the 3 year parking sticker. There is on street parking on North Shore Drive just a short walk from the cottage. Parking permits can be purchased at South Haven City Hall and the South Haven Police Station.

Check in is after 4:00PM Eastern. Check out is before 10:00AM Eastern.

Nice place, great location. Parking was a little challenging - but it was a holiday weekend so it was to be expected. All in all, we really liked it and will probably stay again if we go back to South Haven.

Too Cute lives up to its name. We all had a great time and everything was perfect. The grill was just right and worked great! The walk to the beach was quick there were plenty to do. We also enjoyed being close to a playground and park. The walk to town was easy and there were plenty of coffee shops that were great! Fun was had by all. We will come back again !

Perfect Beach Getaway

Our family enjoyed this cute beach cottage. It had everything we needed, and we loved being so close to the beach. Kailee was very accommodating and super easy to get in touch with. Thanks again for an amazing stay!

Family Time

The Too Qute is just that, too cute. Plenty of room in the living space and dining area for a big group and the outdoor space is HUGE. It is steps from the beach and walking distance from shops and restaurants. We hope to be back next year!

Location was perfect and sleeping arrangements were exactly as explained. Only issue was the window air conditioners. They had a hard time keeping up with the heat.

Perfect summer cottage for a beach vacation

The cottage was roomy and so cute- clean and had everything we needed for a great week at the beach. We especially loved the outdoor shower for rinsing sunblock and sand of the kids. House is located right by our favorite beach and a short walk downtown. Kailee was a responsive and helpful host. Would highly recommend this as a rental- our family loved it!!

Great Location

This location is simply exceptional. You can see the beach- you can walk to downtown- truly a wonderful location. The home itself has everything you need. The air conditioning upstairs is tricky because this an older home.

Location is everything

Nice little cottage in the heart of north beach. This property is great for two families. The furniture is a bit tired and overall the cottage could use some updating. However, if location is your priority and modern amenities are not a concern, then this is your place.

Lovely mini vacation by the beach

The property was lovely and located very close to the beach. Loaded up the wagon with all our items and kiddos and walked just a couple of minutes to a very nice beach. Ice cream right there on the beach. Coffee shop within walking distance. Beautiful neighborhood. House was clean and nicely stocked with all we needed. Kailee, our hostess, was excellent. Answered all questions promptly. She was a pleasure to work with. Would stay here again!

There is no private parking for our cottage as it has no driveway which is fully disclosed in the description of the property. However there is free parking just a short walk, 250 feet, up the road. Or you can buy a parking sticker for the week of your stay and park on the street in front of the cottage. As for age of cottage, although very well kept, it is an older cottage, also fully disclosed. Rooms are pictured as well. I hope you have a wonderful rest of your summer.

QUTE Review

The location is great and the home was very clean. It was nice they had 2 grills as it made it much easier to cook for a larger group. The communication was lacking as I had to call him the morning of to get check in instructions. The dishwasher didn't work which was an inconvenience. .

Our standard check in time is clearly posted on our Homeaway listing as 3:00PM Eastern. As a courtesy, we will at times allow or guests an early check-in and/or late check out so long as the nights preceding or following a reservation are not reserved. The entry access code was sent to this particular guest via text message at 10:54AM on the date of their arrival. We do everything possible to communicate as effectively and efficiently as possible prior to, during and after our guests stay. We do this in order to make the stay as easy as possible for our guests. Admittedly, we can not always be immediately available for instant access. To provide access more than four hours prior to the standard check in time does not seem to be a lack of communication as much as it does a privilege that was just not enough for this particular guest. This guest notified us that the dishwasher was not working properly at 9:15AM on Sunday, August 19, 2018. As of this morning, Wednesday, August 22, 2018, a new dishwasher was installed. We are sincerely committed to providing the highest level of communication, service and accommodations possible within reason. We acknowledge that there are unfortunately times where appliances can break, things can go wrong or communications can be delayed. Most of our guests understand this and appreciate the fact that we are trying to do everything possible on our end to correct problems as quickly as possible. We hope our guests can remain patient while we try to make things right. We thank you for taking the time to read our reviews and responses. perfectly imperfect!

We loved our stay here because it was so close to the beach! I could walk out with my coffee cup in hand for a sunrise or catch a sunset even at the last minute! The cottage was roomy enough for our family group of 7 plus an infant. It definitely has the feel of an original beach cottage rather than the giant renovated beach mansions that now surround it, so it comes with its "old cottage" quirks, but we didn't mind. We used the grill almost every night and ate on the back deck with the sun umbrellas up. The bedrooms are small but we didn't spend a lot of time in them. Any questions I had were answered right away by Kailee who was very helpful. It was comfy and sweet and a perfect location to be right on North Beach--easy to make trips back and forth if we needed to. We walked to Bundes for coffee and danishes in the mornings and walked to the concession stand for Sherman's ice cream every night. Had a great week!

Fantastic in Every Way

My wife and I rented this property to have a relaxing fall weekend. The owners were extremely helpful and easy to communicate with. They did everything to ensure that we had a great time on our vacation. This was our first time renting this property and our second time renting from this owner. Both times have been phenomenal. The location of this rental could not be any better. Each day we took just a few steps to North Beach. This gave us easy access to morning walks on the beach and great sunsets at night. The rental was also just a small, scenic walk to the charming downtown area. We keep coming back to South Haven to enjoy the shops and restaurants in town. The Too Qute Beach Cottage has ample room for families of any size. It's screened porch was excellent to enjoy being outside in any weather. The large living room was excellent for relaxing on the couch, playing board games, or reading a book. The bedrooms were all clean and stocked with comfortable beds. We also enjoyed the large back porch, which was perfect for sitting out in the sun. We have been to south haven about a dozen times and this cottage is our favorite. You can not go wrong with this cottage!

We greatly appreciate when our guests take the time to write a review, especially when the reviews are as favorable as this one. To read that these guests have visited South Haven a dozen times and found Too Qute to be their favorite is very rewarding. As it's name states, Too Qute is a beach cottage. We believe it was originally constructed in the 1920s and has had several modifications, updates, etc. over the years. It is quirky but it is also quite qute. Admittedly, there are much larger new construction homes in the area that are available for you to rent. Some of the newer homes are proof that bigger does not always mean better. Some of the newer beach mansions also demonstrate that contextual architectural design is not always easy to achieve. We think Too Qute is the quintessential beach cottage and hope you agree. Located in the Historic Monroe Park Neighborhood of South Haven and a few short steps (see location map) to the North Beach, you will not find a better location. If convenience and ease of access to the North Beach is what you are looking for, look no further. You have found your destination for your family's next beach vacation. Please take a moment to review our almost always current online availability calendar to see if your desired dates are available. Our Rates page has detailed rates broken down by the rental week which is from Saturday after 3:00PM through the following Saturday before 10:00AM. Responsive Owner, Dirty Property

I recently stayed at this rental property and unfortunately had a disappointing experience. Upon arrival, the place was just ok…a little dated. While getting ready for bed the first night we quickly noticed the home was not clean — there were noticeable signs of mice, including droppings in several areas (ON TOP OF THE BEDS AND ON MATTRESSES UNDER SHEETS!!!!!!!), which made the stay uncomfortable and unhygienic. The overall condition of the unit felt neglected, and it clearly had not been thoroughly cleaned or properly maintained prior to our arrival.That said, I do want to acknowledge that the owner was very responsive and did try to address our concerns quickly once they were raised. While I appreciate the communication and willingness to help, the condition of the property simply didn’t meet basic cleanliness standards. They cleaned the property after it was brought to their attention, but clearly did not clean enough before. With some deep cleaning, minor updates, and pest control, this place could be a decent rental in the future. But based on my experience, I would not recommend it in its current state. However the location was great, and the owner was willing to work with us!

Can’t beat the location to the beach. Overall clean. House in need of updating. Back porch area not very nice. Only used to grill and dry towels off on the chairs. Entire house cooled with window/stand alone units. Did a decent job, but not the same as central air.

Great location and comfortable home base

We loved being close enough to the beach that we could walk down with a cup of coffee in the morning and let the kids swing on the playground and made sure that we watched several sunsets over the water during our week. Beds are comfy and clean, kitchen is well equipped, and plenty of eating areas for everyone to be together. Great family memories were made this week!

Family week together

The property worked well for our party of 10. Location was great being a very short walk to the beach. Front porch was great to sit and drink morning coffee while watching foot traffic to the beach. Would definitely consider staying here again in the future.

Beachside Perfection

The family and I so enjoyed our stay this past week. The cottage was absolutely perfect for us. Having stayed in South Haven many times over the years, the location of this rental could not be beat. Our little ones could go to the beach whenever they wanted and ice cream and coffee were right around the corner. We really never had to drive. The cottage itself had everything we needed and fit our large group well. I also really appreciated all of the outdoor space we had to grill, make s’mores and let the little ones safely explore. We will definitely be returning!!!

Memorial Day Weekend

We rented the cottage for the Memorial Day Weekend to get away and enjoy a quiet weekend with family. The cottage provided us the perfect weekend.
