Serene 3-bedroom stand alone townhome, La Sirena 18 is part of one of Akumal’s most private beachfront condominiums with a swimming pool in Riviera Maya.

Located on the northern end of Half Moon Bay, this spacious townhome features plenty of living areas for everyone to enjoy their vacation. The villa is accessed through a private screened porch that leads to the main living areas for excellent views of the common areas and swimming pool.

The ground floor level also features a dining area, a fully equipped kitchen and 2 bedrooms which share a full bath. One of the downstairs bedrooms has a king size bed and the second bedroom has 2 twin beds (can be made into a king / please inquire for more info). Upstairs is the master bedroom with a king sized bed, a pull out couch and personal living area that leads to a furnished terrace overlooking the garden areas.

Guests staying at La Sirena have exclusive access to the man-made beach with palapa-covered lounge chairs for a clean beach year-round and stunning views of the Caribbean. There’s also a path that leads to water for easy water entry to snorkel.

Paradise Home Away from Home

We couldn't have asked for a better property for our first international trip, including some anxious travelers. The condo had EVERYTHING we needed and the entire staff was available to answer all of our questions.

Perfect for our family vacation

La Sirena and unit 18 in particular were just what we had hoped for. We had plenty of space inside the unit - the roof patio and screened porch for our snorkel gear and wet things after time at the beach or pool were extra nice. The location in Akumal made it easy for our family to walk to Yal-ku or Akumal beach for snorkeling or to drive to many spots around the peninsula for more adventures. It was nice to be able to come home each day and enjoy the beautiful pool, relax on the little beach or even snorkel one more time right in the bay. We highly recommend La Sirena!

Akumal Family Vacation

Beautiful gardens and spacious condo

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our group of 6 loved staying in unit 18. It’s right next to the pool and the gorgeous gardens surrounding that center area between the large building and the 4 separate units. We had a lot of space to spread out. The kitchen had everything you’d need and the daily maid service was nice. A dishwasher and washer/dryer would have been nice. It’s hard to get anything to dry unless it’s near the AC’s overnight. The beach was good for snorkeling but very rocky. Bring water shoes. We loved watching the stingrays and other fish from the beach area. Plenty of chairs at the beach and it was never crowded there or in the pools. I’d highly recommend this property. Lots of restaurants nearby within walking distance or a short golf cart ride.

Absolutely Perfect!!

Upon entry through the gates the gardens were spectacular and meticulously maintained. The unit itself was super clean, well stocked and perfect for our needs. The beach area was also beyond words. Beautiful beach area, superb snorkeling right off the beach (take water shoes - water is rocky, as to be expected for a reef area with plenty of fish). Service was outstanding, anytime we were out of water, required maintenance, etc., our needs were taken care of immediately. We felt super safe having military and Kilo the dog keeping a watchful eye over everything. If I go back to this area I will definitely be staying here again!

Super Relaxing & Great Snorkeling

What a beautiful & peaceful place! We enjoyed staying in this 3 bedroom condo so much. The upstairs balcony was the perfect place to relax over morning coffee/tea or evening drinks on a rainy night. The screened-in porch downstairs was a favorite place for breakfast while looking out at the meticulously kept garden & pool. I think this condo has the most beautiful garden area in Akumal! The master bedroom upstairs has an amazing brick dome ceiling that's just fabulous. The staff at La Serena is so helpful as is the property listing agent. Yarely, our houskeeper kept our condo immaculate and was so sweet. David, our concierge at i-Akumal helped us by scheduling or transportation to & from the airport & our private concierge doctor, Dr. Kenny, to do our COVID test at our condo before returning home to the US. We loved being able to snorkel in our " backyard", the private beach area, & being a short 5 minute walk to Yal-Ku Lagoon. This was the perfect vacation condo & highly recommend it. We'll be booking again soon.

Beautiful family getaway

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful location! We loved the laid back vibe + uncrowded pool and beach. Our 8 and 11 year old enjoyed swimming in the pool and playing in the sand, and the adults in our group enjoyed snorkeling both in the ocean and the laguna. The ocean entry for the condos is rocky so our kids did not want to swim or snorkel there, but our 11 year old loved snorkeling in Laguna Yal Ku which is just a few blocks away. There was a random assortment of snorkel gear in our condo that my brother and dad used, as well as some water shoes. My husband and I brought our own snorkel gear and some for the kids, and with that there was enough gear for everyone. Water shoes were key since it is a rocky entry to the ocean. We also walked over to the sandy beach in Akumal (you have to pay to enter the beach) where our kids loved swimming. The downside is that you have to walk along the road a little over a mile to get to the center of Akumal since the beach is so rocky. We also loved all of the birds and spotted many coatis and jumping squirrels. Overall, we had a fantastic trip!

Wonderful family space for an escape

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We spent a month (May 31 - June 29) in La Sirena unit 18. I was working from "anywhere" with my husband and our three year old and one year old. Wifi worked well, held up to zoom calls and working remote well. The unit is really well set up for kids - they have a baby gate in the unit and were able to provide two pop up cribs. I did bring cheap crib mattresses - this is really necessary as the cribs don't have decent mattresses. That's fine, for the convenience factor. We rented a golf cart for the month with help from the property manager Francesca. Very safe going in and out of town with the kids in the cart. The beach is actually great with kids because it does have the rock wall to keep them from going into the ocean on their own. However, this is not a "swimming beach" if you have kids. Any kid under 6 who isn't ready to snorkel will not be swimming in the ocean. You'll need to go into town for that - which for us, was no biggie. We went in for beach, ate at Lolha, got ice cream, etc almost daily. We had a chef service, with Chef Antonio who owns the company, who staffed Nestor for our unit. Great option - there isn't great grocery shopping in Akumal so it was most time and cost effective to have a chef since we were there for so long with kids. You can buy diapers and such in town, and we did Walmart Mexico delivery for a few things we forgot. Amazon also delivers to the unit. Note that shipping times will take longer so don't expect fast delivery. The unit has everything you need for cooking/kitchen. There is a decently stocked amount of beach gear - a few random snorkel masks, some kids fins, etc. The snorkeling here is second to none. I'm a diver, and truly why dive when you have snorkeling this good. Some days the tide/current was strong, which is a given with pressure systems. But on the calm days, the best ever. The sargassum wasn't bad - the complex is on the tip of the bay so really doesn't get impacted by the seaweed!

Beyond Gorgeous

La Sirena is an absolutely exquisite property with lush plantings around a lovely big pool and wide walkways leading to the rocky beach. Mother and two daughters had come to celebrate one daughter's 60th birthday, and to escape winter in New England and chaos in the US. We found peace and comfort and joy at La Sirena. The house itself was roomy and beautifully decorated with 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, a sunning terrace, a screened in porch, small kitchen, dining area and comfortable living room. I would have liked to be met and shown around the place on arrival but when we had questions, Francesca (a perfect gem) was there in minutes to make things right. Thank goodness not everyone reviews only online...the guest book afforded useful tips on where to eat and what to do. We were so blissfully happy with our home away from home that we spent most of our time by the pool or at the beach, enjoying the peace and tranquility of the complex. I can't say enough about how welcoming and friendly the staff were. They set the tone for our entire visit. Thank you for opening your home to us. We loved every minute of our time there.

Great family vacation

Wonderful week spent in Akumal for our family of 5! Clean comfortable property, quiet location, almost private pool, great snorkeling off the rocky beach, we enjoyed every moment of it!

Perfect stay in Half Moon Bay!

We stayed in Villa 18 and it was perfect for our family of 6 - and twice as much square footage as we needed - it's large! The unit is very clean, comfortable, and the upper balcony is amazing. The staff at La Sirena is fabulous and did such a great job with daily cleaning. We felt completely safe at all times and were so impressed by Francesca and her team. The pool is huge and clean and right outside the door. The beach is gorgeous and we snorkeled with massive manta rays and fish of every kind right in front of our place. You barely need to leave the complex as the best snorkeling in Akumal is at La Sirena! And a 2 minute walk to Yal Ku Lagoon. We rented a golf cart instead of a car this round and never left Akumal. It is an easy walk to La Lunita and Buenavida to eat, but too long to walk in the heat to the other restaurants in town or the pueblo. La Sirena is quiet, no partiers, and you are often the only one in the pool. Will absolutely go back!!

Great family stay

We had a wonderful stay in Akumal. The unit was simply amazing. LOTS of space and very nicely furnished. My kids had a blast at the pool. The neighborhood was quiet, with a couple of restaurants and a convenience store at walking distance. Overall, great location. My only thing that was a minor disappointment was the beach. Between the rocks and the current it was not particularly enjoyable. We ended up spending much more time at the pool instead. Regardless, we had a great time and we highly recommend this unit.

Awesome place!

The La Serena complex is enchanting and unit 18 was a wonderful place to stay. So much space for everyone! The beds were so comfortable and we loved having the indoor and outdoor spaces. The beach area was perfect with the sand, chairs and palapas and our kids loved the pool! Walking to the lagoon was very easy and we never worried for a minute about safety.

Private Beautiful Villa!!!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: La Sirena 18 is a private villa with all the extras. We were originally booked for 3days but decided to stay the whole week here. The property has large bedrooms with space to fit the family. The owners have equipped the villa with everything you can think of and some special extras too. The kitchen is fully equipped to make a meal and eat out on the veranda enjoying the amazing gardens. They have beach toys, snorkeling equipment and paddle boards for guests to use. Located on the north end of Half moon bay we were able to snorkel right from the villa and got see so many fish on the reef as well as a stingray. This property does not get Sargasso no matter what time of year which is a major benefit to being on the north end of the bay and within walking distance to Yal-Ku Lagoon. I definitely will be booking this villa again soon.....
