Comfy Home on 2+ acres just outside the White Mountains on the Connecticut River

Remodeled 2 bed/1.5 bath on 2+ acres with Connecticut River and mountain views. Waterfront access via a careful hike down the backyard path for relaxing and maybe even some strategic fishing. Queen (1), twin (2) and queen pull-out sofa for sleeping. Fully equipped kitchen for meals big or small. Grassy area for outdoor play or space to roam. Wooded areas with downhill slope as you approach the riverfront. Public boat launch is just down the road as is the bridge over to Vermont! Minutes from the Primary and Corridor Rail System for snowmobiling fun and plenty of space to park your trailer!

We are close by and may stop to water outdoor plants, collect garbage from garage or outdoor cans, and grab mail. We try to do these things when you’re out enjoying the area, but our paths may cross on occasion. NOTE: Using the waterfront, including the pontoon dock, and swimming, fishing, tubing, or hiking is 100% at your own risk and you and all your guests assume full liability for your activities. The river levels can vary, especially in the summer. We cannot be held liable for river levels and the ability to utilize our pontoon platform. Please access caution at any time you choose to use our riverfront access.

Great property in a beautiful area

Spent a long weekend at the property with the family. There was ample room for the 4 of us. The place was clean, the kitchen had all the essentials (and some nice bonuses) and the beds were comfortable. The location was a bit north of the really crowded areas, but convenient to get to Mt. Washington and Littleton.

Such a fun trip

We stayed here for a mini trip to Bretton Woods, the Ice Castles, and tubing at Waterville Valley. This house is updated and comfortable. Our kids loved the games and books. It was very clean, well stocked and had quite a few extras that made the trip convenient. We had a great time exploring the yard for animal tracks!

The house was very clean and cute, however, the description was not accurate. The main criteria we filtered on during our search was Air Conditioning. We also wanted a place that had fishing available on the property. Turns out there was only A/C on the first floor, none on the 2nd floor where the bedrooms are located, which made for a very uncomfortable three nights of sleep. I have a two year old and this made afternoon naps impossible. The host just brushed it off and said temps reach the 60s at night (which was not accurate) and to turn the ceiling fans on. I don't know how you can advertise a place as having A/C and there's none in the bedrooms. The area to fish on the river was basically non-existent, there was about 4ft of clearance to cast your line with trees and bushes to both sides. My sons line kept getting caught when casting and reeling in. The bears, while advertised, were also an issue. The 2nd morning there was fresh bear scat right in the only spot to fish from. We later spotted the cub a few houses down while driving to the boat dock. My son and I threw in the towel on fishing from the property pretty quick and resorted to having to drive to the boat dock instead, which was actually really scenic and enjoyable. Between the bears and the major roadway the house is located on, it's no place for children. Overall the property just didn't deliver on what we thought we were getting. The lack of dishwasher and washer/dyrer was also a major downside.

I’m sorry our home was not as you expected. Our description does discuss the walk downhill along a path to the river. The state prevents us from clear cutting trees making it more accessible once you’re on the shore line. Bear scat really was where it belongs, although it was an inconvenience on your visit. I feel as though the A/C issue was not properly described, as there are vents upstairs, it just doesn’t cool like the main floor; we will continue to improve that airflow to make that better. Using the ceiling fans helps a lot. I apologize if you took my response as brushing you off. We pride ourselves on providing nice accommodations for our guests keeping in mind it’s an old house in the mountains. I hope the memories made were more of fun times than not. Safe travels wherever adventure leads you.

Clean Home Away from Home

10 year old said - free candy!12 year old said - bed was awesome!Wife said - everything was clean!I said - got what we were told!Jeanette was great, responsive, and obviously they have done this before. Shower from above and from the side? Yep, they have that too. 10/10 would stay again!!

Sweetly updated

Pros: unbelievably clean, better stocked than most, comfortable, wife loved the place. Great fans, all utensils, even bug spray and snacks. This will rate higher after the work gets done making river access useable. Cons: No A/C not a problem as long as you are not a light sleeper because with the windows open there is some traffic noise throughout the night.

Thanks for your review Tim. We do have central A/C. I’m sorry you didn’t inquire about it because it was an improvement as of July 4th. The path to the river from the backyard is currently partial dirt/stone due to some excavation done recently but it’s accessible via a short walk, certainly not a simple stroll. Hope you’ll come see us again as we continue our improvements to the property. We are glad we could host you due to the last minute cancellation you experienced. Safe travels!

Great House!

We had such a wonderful experience! It was the perfect size for our family of four and they thought of everythingy we could have needed. Our girls especially loved walking down to the river!
