Our host Shida was very attentive and helpful. A beautiful Hollywood Hills property with fantastic views of LA by day and night. We slept well in that wonderful soft and comfortable bed! The pool was awesome to use and lounge around on a hot day. A Great Horned Owl even paid a visit to a nearby tree one sunset.

This place was absolutely beautiful, peaceful, and such a relaxing getaway. The hostess was very nice, welcoming, and friendly, which made the experience even better. Everything about the stay felt calm and enjoyable.The only thing I would note for future guests is that the road leading to the property is definitely on the smaller side, so I would recommend being cautious if you have a larger vehicle. Other than that, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend this place!

The mountain paradise home, is lovely. It’s quiet both during the day and evenings, with a great view at sunset. If you’re driving, take your time- majority of folks that live up here, are self aware and patient. The pool is stellar, bed is so comfy, plenty of closet space and the plants everywhere are dreamy. Theres plenty to do in La, and in my opinion, plenty within an hour or two.I had no issues getting rides as well as renting a small vehicle and taking that around when I needed. Shida is a fantastic host, who gives great recommendations, is quick to reply and just as sweet as can be. I will def. be back to visit. I have zero complaints. My week out was wonderful.

Great stay! What a beautiful place! Shida, the host, was wonderful and communicative. The property itself is like a mountain retreat. I was very zenned during my stay here. Drive-up to the get to the place is twisty and has narrow roads - it was not a problem for us but a heads up to people booking the place.

Such a beautiful place to stay during our visit. Owner is super friendly, bed was incredibly comfortable, and location is just exquisite. Will definitely stay again on our next visit.

Don't let the listing/reviews fool you. This is not a studio and it is by no means private. This is a tiny bedroom inside of a home that is locked off and the host is home at ALL TIMES in the next room. While in the pool, we saw the host peek at us twice in less than one hour. Once through a window and once through an open door that led from the pool to the part of the house the host was staying in. That door stayed open more than once during our stay. The room and the pool is older, dirtier, and more run down than it appears in the photos. The size and lack of amenities is extremely inconvenient. The listing states a barbecue, but it was located in front of where the host was staying and we felt we would have to ask to use it. The refrigerator is the smallest mini fridge with a microwave sitting on top of it in a tiny closet. There is no washer/dryer as stated in the listing. The bed is just a box spring and a mattress on the floor and the bedding is stained/visibly dirty. The bathroom sink does not work properly. It also appears that the photos in the listing are not quite up to date. Additionally, if you choose to stay here, please note the road leading up is extremely narrow and winding on the very edge of a cliff with no guard rails. The only reason we did not leave is because of money already spent and the lack of anywhere else to go on such short notice.

Brian, I'm sorry your stay didn't meet your expectations, and I enjoyed meeting you both. The house was originally built as a 1955 cottage, but it has since grown — with a full second floor and extra bedrooms and bathrooms added — and it has been completely remodeled throughout. I take real pride in its upkeep, from painting and repairs to nearly everything inside: the bedding, curtains, rugs, and furnishings are all new. We do have a high-end, brand-new washer and dryer; it's located just outside the unit, and I'd have gladly shown you had you asked. The pool is serviced by a professional cleaner once a week, so I'm sorry it didn't look clean to you during your stay. I'm also very sorry you felt watched — I almost always live here alone but last minute, a friend was badly in need of help and I opened my home to her during your visit. The back door is usually never opened and no one normally peeks out; that's not the norm here. The style is true to Laurel Canyon's artsy history — eclectic and characterful rather than marble-and-columns luxury — and this is the first time a guest has raised these concerns. I'm glad you could enjoy the view and the lovely outdoor space, and I'd welcome the chance to host you again.

Great location

We loved that her home is so close to West Hollywood. The views are amazing, the hot tub was a perfect way to end the day and Shida was a communicative and kind host. We’d stay here again!

Wonderful stay

I can't rate this stay highly enough. A stunning location and an exceptionally welcoming host. Beautiful view over LA and the immediately surrounding canyons. Lots of places to sit comfortably outside and relax, whether looking over the canyons or over the large, heated pool. Perfect stay.

Relaxing private retreat.

Our stay was wonderful. Shida was a welcoming host and the property was beautiful. "Top of the world" is the perfect description for this hideaway at the top of Laurel Canyon. It's the perfect place to unwind and relax.
