Salty Dog is

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Everything was great. One item that does need attention are the bed sheets. They were too small and kept coming off the mattress. This was true on one queen downstairs and the beds upstairs

Best in Garden City except for microwave

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Excellent major remodel. Easy close drawers everywhere. 2 - 80 gallon water heaters. You will never run out of hot water. All TVs use AirPlay. 2 coffee makers. Fridge and den upstairs. Bathrooms are nice. Everything is nice. EXCEPT, I had to get on my hands and knees to use the microwave under the counter. Everything else was great. Yeah, trim carpenter was a little slack on doors and stairs.

A beautiful place to vacation

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is a beautiful, well-appointed house. We had plenty of room, comfortable spaces and furniture, and great views. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you can think of (except dry measuring cups, in case you need those!). The house was clean (some dust bunnies under furniture but not excessive). The beach was perfect. We liked being a bit away from the town, but it was a short drive to anything we needed. We would definitely stay here again.Garden Realty was very helpful. One pro tip, Amazon will not deliver to a rental. We had a birthday celebration, so delivered to Garden Realty office instead.

Thank you for the great review of Salty Dog! We also really appreciate your feedback about the dry measuring cups. Without you letting us know, we wouldn’t be able to catch and fix these little details. We truly appreciate you taking the time to share your experience, and we hope to see you again soon!

Amazing property for family vacation!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The Salty Dog was the perfect space for our family getaway. Located close to the pier and a short drive to the marshwalk, this was a great spot on the beach. The kitchen was the best stocked rental we’ve stayed at, and the house was clean and newly renovated. There was a small ant problem and they sent pest control the next day. The rooms were spacious and the beds were comfortable. We enjoyed the two living spaces, along with the large deck and plenty of furniture. We look forward to booking this home again and appreciate that this property came so well stocked! The only thing that would make this home better is a vacuum to maintain cleanliness throughout the week!

We brought our 2 little terriers with us and spent most of our time on the awesome back covered porch. The location was perfect. Just a short walk to the Garden City pier and 5-15 minute drive to restaurants or attractions. This was our second year in this house and we’re making plans to come back next year again.

A pleasant vacation in Garden City

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall we had a great vacation and stay at The Salty Dog. The house is beautifully decorated and comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you could possibly need. Loved the decks and the easy access to the beach. Some furnishings in the back bedrooms were a bit dated, but the living areas were so modernized we didn't care. The second floor living room and master bedroom views are STUNNING. Drinking coffee on the deck each morning was a highlight. My only issues were check in information from Garden City Realty and an ongoing ant problem we had with the house. Upon check in, there were not instructions for the house on how to use the TVs, functionality of the house (ice maker was broken so use the tabletop ice maker),or even the wifi password. We checked in late on Saturday night and attempted to get the Wifi password for over 48 hours. When the realty company reopened on Monday they were able to get it to us, but it was a bummer no one was available all day on Sunday for those who checked in past 5PM on Saturday. There is definitely a big ant problem in the house. I had read past reviews that this was happening and thought it would be remedied by the time we got there. Upon check in we noticed a trail of them throughout the first floor and the realty company did send maintenance and they sprayed again, but by the end of the week they were back with vengeance. It was so bad at one point they got into the engine of our car from falling from the floorboards above and were starting to get into the interior when we were driving home. We had to get our car interiors completely cleaned to ensure they didn't come to our house. The entire week we had to be super careful not to leave any food out and to clean things up quickly.Maintenance was lovely - so kind and helpful. Overall was a great stay, even with the ants. If they could get that dealt with would be much more comfortable overall and a 5 star review.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was our 4th year at the Salty Dog. The upgrades are fantastic! I would suggest a gate on the deck in order to keep small children and pets safe and also move the foot wash spigot to the middle deck level. A hose in the garage would be nice. We are SO VERY VERY SAD that this property is not available for our vacation in 6/2024!!

Great vacation

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We stayed the week of Memorial Day. The beach was not crowded, which was great. Great location, very short drive to dining and grocery stores. There were a few minor issues with the house that we did not bother to report (lights out on porch, broken frig shelf.) The only issue we did report was that somehow the linens were not in the house. 45 minutes after my call they were delivered with apologies. So great service! The house was very clean and the kitchen was exceptionally well stocked. We had 11 people and everyone had plenty of room.

Anniversary celebration at Salty Dog, Garden City

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We gathered our whole immediate family to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary, 3 generations, including our little frenchie dog ... perfect setting 24/7 , the grands are little, so very convenient, literally steps from waves, and best sandy beach area, flat, firm sand and easy to walk on.Submitted a couple issues to Garden City Realty (loose carpet, burned out lights) and they responded very quickly.
