We had a great stay, the yard is beautiful, kitchen/common area and large deck very comfortable, and the garage had lots of sand toys, chairs and other items to make our beach visits more fun. Unfortunately for us, the weather didn't cooperate but the house was wonderful!

Tropical Beach escape

Perfect for 5 adults, beach across the street for turtles and amazing sunsets. House is comfortable with wonderful outdoor areas to take it all in. Home well stocked , love the birds

Thanksgiving in Hawaii

Hale L’ea is a beautiful, well-equipped home on a quiet residential street with walkable access to rocky, not sandy beaches. It was perfect for our little family reunion.

Perfection in Puako

Our family loved our time at the house! The house was bright and clean and provided plenty of space for the 6 of us. When we weren’t out enjoying the water and the beauty, we LOVED hanging out on the front deck for games, cocktails and all our meals. We would definitely stay here again.

Perfect relaxation retreat

This property is a great home away from home. It was well equipped with all the necessities- bbq, beach chairs, kitchen ware, bathroom amenities, etc. The lanai was peaceful and the ceiling fans and air conditioners worked perfectly. Location to the shoreline was across the street and a few houses over - super easy for watching the sunsets each night. Highly recommend this home and we would definitely stay there again.

Big Island Adventure

Hale L'ea was our vacation home for 9 days accommodating a multi-generational family of 4 adults and 2 children (9 &12yo). We loved the lush garden yard containing a multitude of flowering and fruiting plants and trees and all the tropical birds and wildlife. This clean, spacious, airy home is perfectly located, offering much privacy, yet close to beaches and services. The easy access to the shoreline and area beaches and snorkeling was fabulous. Spending time on the Lanai was precious. Our hosts were wonderful and we would definitely consider staying here again.

Amazing location, perfect for our 50th birthday party. We stayed for a month and all of our adult children/spouses visited and we had space for all. The house reef travels 3 miles all along the Puako Beach drive with easy ocean access every 15 houses including access across the street and one house to the right. We saw more turtles and eels than we could count, a Monk Seal, octopus, white tip reef sharks, and hundreds of types of fish. Most evenings I would go spearfishing with my free dive bout and being back wonderful reef fish for dinner. There are 3 Mango trees which have daily ripe mangos in April and May which were like candy. Large two car garage for easy equipment storage. On the days when I had to work I set up my computer on the 2nd floor balcony working while listening to the birds and sounds of the ocean. The dive master Sam at the general store down the road taught my wife to scuba dive and took us on beach dive adventures. Tank and equipment rentals are easy at the same general store for beach diving and snorkeling. We did 10 boat dives from the local Marina with Sam’s friend Flipper who showed us the dive sites harder to access from shore.

Perfect family home!

This home was ideal for a multigeneration family. As grandparents, we appreciated the comfort and quiet of the downstairs studio. And our daughters and their families had plenty of privacy and play room for the little ones upstairs. The house was clean and well appointed - we also had everything we needed for long days at the beach. Our only suggestion for improvement would be to provide basic cooking condiments (salt, oil, etc.) downstairs and to add an additionl cover over the plastic lined mattress cover downstairs. It was pretty sweaty even on cooler nights. The air conditioning both upstairs and down was much appreciated!! Thank you! Our oupstaiups. It was much to hot tairs.

Vacation in paradise

Awesome stay in a place that is well maintained and managed. The location is right in the middle of everything. We could not have asked for a more relaxing or fun way to disconnect from day to day life. A true vacation.
