Welcome to Walking On Sunshine, your luxurious home away from home. Just a short walk to the beach through a private neighborhood, it's ideal for families not wanting to cross the highway with children to get to the ocean. Boasting several amenities including a theater room with surround sound, a 55" TV, a game room with a Pool table, and a wet bar, as well as a fenced-in hot tub and Saltwater swimming pool area. With plenty of space for gathering in the living areas and 4 King beds, everyone will have plenty of room to get comfortable and enjoy their beach vacation without having to sacrifice comfort. Located in the Town of Duck, known for its quiet small-town atmosphere you'll be surrounded by places to go and things to do from eating and shopping, to jet skiing and historical sight hopping. This home utilizes a Ring Doorbell for security.

Fantastic location and house! We could easily bike ride into Duck and walk to the beach (5 minutes from the door to the sand and no wild stairs!) We loved the pool and hot tub and all of the bed rooms were top notch. We highly recommend this house!

Beautiful property, great location

We had a great week! This is a beautiful house! it is modern, clean and well maintained, one of the best places we have stay in OBX. Our family really enjoyed the short walk to the beach, the pool and the pool table. Our family of 11 had plenty of room. Would definitely book in the future.

Very nice house. Best one since I’ve been coming for 40 years. Clean, lots of beach toys and chairs. Quiet neighborhood near Duck. Close to beach. Plenty of room for 12 people. Lots of toys and games and puzzles. Nice furniture, nice kitchen, nice pool area, nice gameroom. Plenty of information as to how to use remotes in each room. Enjoyed this place!!!

We found everything we needed in the kitchen and it was wonderful to have a table large enough for all of us. The property manager provided excellent communication throughout the process of booking and checking in and out of the house. The traffic does back up on the road to Duck at various times during the day so bikes were helpful in going to town. It is central to many activities. We were close to the sound for crabbing, kayaking and paddle boarding and the beach was an easy walk from the property.

Very nice property.

Enjoyed the house with 6 bedrooms and 6 baths. Very efficient layout with extra amenities. Not too far from the beach. Seemed like a nice neighborhood.

House was clean, location from the beach was an easy walk, ocean was in view from the upper balcony. The beds were comfortable, and the house was equipped with all basic kitchen needs. Hot tub and pool were also perfect for us. We loved all of the personal touches in the house, the helpful guides for operation of TVs and appliances, and the welcome basket with "forgotten" items in case of a need. Would definitely rent Walking on Sunshine again! Thanks for a great week!!

House was clean and well maintained. Lots of kisses books and puzzles. Baby gate wasn't easy to u.

Dune to beach was hard to manage for 2 yr old and elderly parents. Nice having ocean views from upper floor.

Great family vacation

Awesome place for family vacation. Plenty of space for everyone. The beach was beautiful. The kid enjoyed surfing, bogey boarding and hopping the waves. The location was perfect. Walking the beach at sunrise was absolutely gorgeous. In the evening the sunset over the sound is beautiful.The boardwalk was really nice. Plenty of places to eat and shop. It was a little buggy around dusk though. We really enjoyed the amenities the house had to offer including pool, hot tub, barbecue grill. Each night we had great family time playing games around the large dining table. Wish we were able to stay longer. We will definitely be back. in

Perfect Stay

Our group absolutely loved this property! The walk to the beach was quick and there was an easily accessible path. We loved being able to spend the day at the beach, walk back and hop in the pool, then relax at night in the hot tub! The inside of the property was pristine and the property managers were quick to respond if there was any issues - they sent someone out before we even knew there was a problem with the WiFi! The kitchen was well stocked, probably the best out of all the properties we have stayed at, and the two fridges were clutch for our larger group! We enjoyed being able to watch movies and play games inside since the family room and dining was so spacious. 10/10 would recommend this property!!

Perfect for a couple families

This place boasted 6 bedrooms and a movie room which actually serves as a seventh. Lots of room for anything you can imagine. Space to get away. Lots of porches, patio, deck space. Views are excellent even off beach. Close enough to things that it’s convenient but far enough that it’s quiet. Linens came at extra charge was only negative. Pool and hot tub were nice. Beach chairs and cart were included but not disclosed. Nice bonus.

While so many homes have multiple beds crammed into rooms with many single and bunks, this home accommodated our adult children and their young children perfectly with so many large bedrooms with king beds. Special touches from the owner such as the basket of items containing items we may have forgotten, the coffee bar and the many games and puzzles along with the game room provided us with lots of fun and laughs. The kitchen was well equipped including a crock pot. Even the neighbors were friendly and made us feel at home!

Great Stay

This house was awesome and everyone in our 11 person party loved it. Modern, Clean, Comfortable. Check in and Check out were very simple. Short walk to the beach without having to cross any roads. The beach was very nice and uncrowded. Hot tub and pool were very nice but could’ve used a shade area like an umbrella. Spacious rooms with king sized beds and each bedroom had private full bathroom aside from the bunkbed room shared bathroom with queen room. Queen room did not have a mirror. Lots of stairs but that’s expected in the Outer Banks, also sound traveled very easily throughout house. Came with many amenities that we were not aware of, would've been nice to know so we didn't have to pack as much but was still a nice convenient surprise. All in all very happy with the stay and looking to book again for next year.

Walking on Sunshine Memorial Day 2022

My family and I really enjoyed this property. It has lots of room and easily accommodated our party of six adults. It was probably the cleanest VRBO property that I have ever seen on move-in day. The top floor is a great room with a fully stocked kitchen, one MBR, big screen TV, plenty of seating, dining room table and a game room. We all spent most of our time there when we were in the house. The first and second floors have most of the bedrooms, with the first floor having a laundry room, pool table, and a video room with another big screen TV and sound system. Access to the pool and hot tub is from the first floor. I cannot say enough about how much we enjoyed the kitchen. Most VRBO rentals really only have bare bones kitchen ware, but this house is truly well stocked. One of my pet peeves is that most houses do not have kitchen shears, which are a kitchen necessity for me, but this house had shears and really good knives as well. The house location could not be better. It is in between Duck and Sanderling. It was only a short walk to the beach. I cannot say enough about how much we enjoyed the house and and how great its amenities are!

PERFECT HOUSE FOR LARGE GROUP

This is the first rental I have ever stayed in, where the pictures did NOT do this house justice! This house was perfect for our group of 12 people. Every couple had their own bedroom as well as the kids in the bunk bed room. All of the decks on this property have very recently been replaced and are amazing! We loved having decks on every single floor. And the owners have done a great job of supplying plenty seating on all 5 decks attached to this house! Every room in this house is spacious and even with a large group, we had plenty of room to spread out and relax in privacy. I cannot say enough about the pool area. The pool is not very big, but actually the perfect size for this house and plenty of room to play and cool off. The kids thoroughly enjoyed it and the adults really enjoyed that hot tub at night! Please do not hesitate to pay for this house. The private pool and hot tub are worth every penny. We spent a lot of time grilling, eating, and swimming during our week stay. The owner of the house even called to check in on us to make sure everything was good at check in and we were happy with the house. The internet went down while we were there (area outage) and the owner was on top of it, getting it fixed as soon as possible. This house is exactly 3.5 miles from downtown Duck. So we rode our bikes quite a few times into town, to avoid the traffic. I have absolutely nothing bad to say about this house. The only thing that I would say, is that this house is very big and 3 flights of stairs. Keep that in mind with elderly and little ones. But there is a master bedroom suite on the bottom floor to accommodate. I stayed in the top floor master suite and loved having the deck to overlook the ocean in the mornings, while drinking coffee. I got my steps in during the week, but totally worth it! I will definitely rent this house again!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is our forth stay at Walking on Sunshine and the property continues to get better with updates improvements. The owners have gone out of their way to ensure guests have the best experience. They even added a basket of travel size personal essentials in case you forgot something. The house was very clean. I have had dialogue with the owner on many occasions of issues, concerns and recommendations. We did not get to stay last year but we noted very quickly the work done on the steps and the addition of a coffee bar. The new grill was huge and was a split unit with grill on one side and a flat top on the other. The pool and hot tub were well maintained and very enjoyable. All appliances were in great working order. We look forward to our next stay.
