Demat deoc'h (hello in Breton) On a very flowery property, this cottage, perched on the hillside, has been created in an old slate building. Natural materials have been favored here to maintain the atmosphere of the place. The Liscuis heathland ends at the edge of the property. Deer regularly come down to the land at the beginning or end of the day. At the entrance to this cottage, a large raised terrace offers a direct view of the Quenecan forest just in front, while the Nantes-Brest canal passes silently at the bottom of the valley. The cottage offers a living room with a kitchenette, a bathroom/WC, and two bedrooms (one upstairs, the other on the first floor). Everything is furnished in the style of Breton furniture, paying homage to Breton culture. Ar Wezenn Gozh also means "the old tree" because the gîte was built at the foot of a tree several centuries old. This gîte has facilities for people with reduced mobility. Here we are near the Bon Repos Abbey and its sound and light show. The covered walkways of liscuis are just at the top of the ridge that passes directly above the property. From up there, the view is exceptional. From here, you can enjoy beautiful hikes, as well as walks along the shores of Lake Guerlédan, in the Toul Goullic or Corong gorges. Further afield, the Monts d'Arrée and Huelgoat or Commana are within easy reach. Carhaix, a 20-minute drive away, hosts its "Vieilles Charrues" festival as well as Motocultor. The Valley of the Saints is then just a few minutes away by car. In Rostrenen you can enjoy the Fisel festival or an evening in a real Irish pub, "Ti Devine". We are here in authentic Brittany with its festoù-noz (night festivals) or pardons (religious festivals), sometimes by torchlight. Many activities are possible: a swimming pool with sauna in Gouarec, the wolf park in Coat Fur, the Guerledan adventure park, Aquarev in Loudéac, escape games or mini-golf in Cléguerec, the railbike in Gouarec, and also water sports (canoeing, kayaking, paddleboarding, pedal boats, towed inflatables, etc.) in Guerledan. You can visit the forges of Les Salles, have a drink or a meal at the Merlin restaurant in Anse de Sordan on the lake. There you can taste "Terres Bleues" ice cream made in Cléguerec or even further afield. In Mur-de-Bretagne, you will find a very good biscuit factory or the Guerledan brewery. You can discover the beautiful fountains of Brittany in Bulat-Pestivien (the Seven Saints, the Rooster, or the Virgin) while venturing into a countryside where stones naturally lie in the middle of the fields. Religious architecture is significant in Brittany. You could see it through the chapel of St. Suzanne in Guerledan, Rosquelfen, or Gwirmané. In some unassuming places, for example near St. Nicolas de Pelem, you'll find curiosities such as carillon wheels, an old Catholic tradition that has revived Celtic customs. From this point, the Pink Granite Coast, or the Cornish coast, or the Gulf of Morbihan is 45 minutes away. At the same time, the major festivals of Brittany are available: the Fête des Filets Bleus in Concarneau, the Fête de Cornouaille in Quimper, the Interceltic Festival of Lorient, and the Fête de la St. Loup in Guingamp, where, in addition to the bagpipes and bombardes, you can discover Breton wrestling matches, gouren.
